You ate in peace, telling Sonic to text you his address and the time of the party. Shadow fed you from time to time, and you couldn't help but give him a smug look every time the fork was lifted to your plump lips. Suddenly, an oh-so familiar screech was heard as you were rudely smacked on the back of your head.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING NEXT TO SONIC! I THOUGHT WE WENT OVER THIS (Y/N)!" The pink hedgehog brought her face closer to yours, narrowing her green eyes menacingly as you raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.

"The hell do you want?" You rudely asked; you had enough of her. You weren't trying to hit on Sonic, and although you'd love to spend more time with him, you now have a "boyfriend."

"I want you to stay away from my Sonikku!" You grimaced at the nickname. You quickly turned to Sonic, a sympathetic look displayed on your features.

Silver intervened, "There's no need to fight! It's no use!"

You put your hand up, effectively silencing him. "So that's what this-" you paused and looked at Amy with disgust, gesturing to her with your fork, "-caveman calls you? Sonikku? Sonikku?" Turning around, you bluntly stated, "Listen here, cotton candy. I think you need to take a hint. First of all, my pal Sonic is clearly not interested in you. Secondly, he's not your Sonikku," you used air quotes for the gruesome nickname, giving your best attempt at mimicking her high pitched voice. "Thirdly, just back the hell off. I'm not hitting on Sonic." With that, you calmly checked your nonexistent watch and grabbed ahold of Shadow. "Let's go outside."

Shadow didn't budge. You looked at him, (e/c) orbs taking in his appearance. Pride was evident in his eyes, as a smirk played at his lips. You rolled your eyes at him, unimpressed with him. You stalked off, leaving Shadow behind. The idiotic pink caveman ruined your lunch. You could hear Sonic yelling after you, but you didn't pay any mind.

As you walked outside, the breeze blew, causing your (h/c) locks to fly around. The sky was dark, hinting that it might start to rain. You snickered to yourself, thinking how dramatic this would look to anyone. I am the oncoming storm. You inhaled deeply, walking further onto the field, catching sight of a tree that looked very pretty. You walked towards it, when suddenly you were picked up and you sped towards it.

As you got out of the grasp, you looked up and sighed out of relief. "Sonic! Don't scare me like that!" You placed a hand over your heart to calm the heartbeat, all the while looking at Sonic with a flabbergasted expression.

He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, a blush spreading across his tan muzzle. "Sorry about Amy, she's just-"

You shushed him with your finger, appreciating how the sun made Sonic's bright blue fur shine. "It's not your fault, that caveman is responsible for her own actions." You two laughed at the nickname for Amy. A few moments passed as you two looked up and around, the sakura trees' petals falling and landing in your hair. You smiled softly at the beautiful scenery, giggling softly, causing Sonic to glance at you.

"You're beautiful." Sonic slapped a gloved hand over his mouth, green hues widening upon realizing what he said. Before he could explain further, you responded.

"Thanks, you're not too bad yourself." You playfully winked, brushing off the statement, although you were blushing like a madman. And all this time I thought Shadow was hotter. You gulped, realizing that you were crushing on two rival hedgehogs. Two! The question is, who do you like better? That wasn't important right now. What was important, was convincing Sonic that you and Shadow weren't a couple.

Suddenly, Sonic moved closer to you, brushing a few stray hairs behind your ears. Your breath hitched in your throat at the close proximity; you would appreciate it if it suddenly became dark, because the bright pink on your cheeks ceased to fade. It felt wrong, but it felt so right.

You suddenly moved away, and Sonic's facial expression fell. "Ah! Sorry, I need to tie my laces." You made an excuse, bending down to "tie your laces."
