The Throne ? Book Two

Antonia's POV

I can't sit still. I feel like there's someone watching me. Their hard gaze on me makes shivers run down my spine with the intensity of the stare. I can't handle it. I feel like I'm about to scream and tear apart my office when Saber comes in through the door and notices my tense body language. Looking concerned, he immediately strides over to me and picks me up, taking my place in my computer chair and putting me on his lap.

Being near him immediately starts to calm my nerves. I put my head on his shoulder and close my eyes, resting and taking time to calm down. He doesn't speak yet, knowing me well enough to know that it's best if I calm down first. Sadly, I can't calm down fully. I still feel the stare on me, and now it's worse. It's angry. It makes the itching under my skin ignite with fury, and I can feel the Darkness responding.

"Saber, I don't think I can be calm in this office." I tell him, taking in his scent so I don't end up going on a crazy rampage. Saber doesn't ask what's going on yet, he simply picks me up and takes me to my room. When I first became Queen, I put a protective barrier around my room. Nobody's powers work in my room, unless I permit it. Saber can use his, but that's it.

I feel the eyes get ripped off of me once I enter my room, and I immediately calm down being in Saber's arms. He gently places me on my bed and lies down next to me, where I hug him and pull him close to me.

"Nia, what made you so tense in your office?" Saber asks, placing his hand on the small of my back, and the other one is holding mine.

"I felt an intense stare on me, yet I was alone. I thought that it might be a spell of some sort or someone's power, and I knew coming in here would break it." I explain, shivering when I imagine the feeling that the stare gave me. Saber thinks about it for a bit, and responds

"That's very strange. Did you feel it all the way here, or did it go once you left the office?"

"I felt it until you stepped fully into my room. It was horrible." I answer, and add "When you stepped into my office, the stare became very enraged."

"Amaro." Saber growls "He has to be the one doing this! He wants to watch over you because you're soul-bound, yet he hates seeing me with you. He's jealous of what we have. He wants to take you from me. I'm not going to let him. He's not getting you." He strongly declares, hugging me tightly and bringing me to his chest.

I think Saber is right, there isn't any other logical explanation for who would do this but Amaro. He will have to be dealt with.

"I'll need to deal with him." I snarl

"Do you want to deal with him now?" Saber asks, loosening his hold on me.

"No, I'm too comfortable. I'll do it later." I say, sighing and relaxing into his warm chest. We stay like that for a while, just relaxing and silent. I soon feel myself drifting into a calm, dreamless sleep.

Saber's POV

Nia falls asleep, and rolls away from me. She moves around a lot in her sleep. I kiss her forehead gently and let her rest, silently leaving her room to go find Wolf and Inferno to hang out, a guy's day. Maybe I can get Henry to come as well.

I go to Angel's room to look for Inferno, winding through the halls to get there. I knock on the door and wait for a moment, then Angel flings open her door. As usual, her and her room stink of Inferno. I can't even tell if he's in there, his scent is always here.

"Hello Saber, what do you want?" She asks politely.

"I want to ask Inferno if he wants to have a guy's day." I state, smiling. From behind Angel and in her room, I hear an exuberant shout.
