"Toby, it is time to make a decision."

Toby shivered as the voice ran through him, seeming to flow through his blood. This was his one chance to get rid of the voices in his head, to stop the visions that left him in hospital every time he saw the faces of his deceased family. Surely he only had one option? He twitched.

"...Y-yes," he stammered.

He felt a wave of triumph crash over him, as the voice of his father became louder, filling his ears with the raspy sound.

"Walk south Toby, and there I will instruct you on what you must do."

Toby had no control over his body as he moved south, fumbling and tripping over obstacles. Eventually he found himself slowing down as he came to a small wooden shack, run down and falling to pieces. Toby could only watch on as his body, now in control of his father, ran a hand along the sharp blade of his hatchet, slicing a deep gash on his palm. Toby couldn't feel it, but he was still shocked. He stared as his hand reached towards the wall of the shack. He ran his hand over the wooden boards, leaving blood smeared across the filthy surface. As his hand began drawing a pattern, Toby finally understood what was going on. He stepped back and stared in horror at the image from at the house loomed over him, painted on the wooden wall in Toby's own blood. Finally, the hold over him was released, and he fell onto his back, scrambling away from the symbol. As he watched, eyes widened in terror, the bloody symbol began to pulse. It suddenly flashed with a piercing white light, so bright that Toby had to shield his eyes. When he uncovered them, his mouth fell open in shock. Standing in front of the symbol, staring at Toby with a look of pure hatred in his dark eyes was his father. His blonde hair, exactly the same as Lyra's, was filthy and messy. Toby whimpered as his father stepped over to him, an evil smile lighting up his face.

"Y-you tricked m-me!" Toby gasped. His father grinned, showing strangely sharp teeth.

"Of coarse Toby," he sneered disdainfully. Toby's eyes filled with tears. His fathers' grin grew even wider.

"Aww, is the poor little baby upset and frighten, all alone in the deep dark woods with the big bad man?" he mocked cruelly. "That is nothing compared to what you will be feeling when I'm through with you. Even if you can't feel pain, I can still have my revenge."

Toby held back a cry as his father lunged forward, slamming his fist against Toby's cheek. Toby scrambled back, trying to get to his feet so he could fight. His father followed him, grabbing his arm in a tight grip. Toby squirmed and twisted, trying to get out of the hold, but his father seemed to have inhuman strength. There was something else that was off about him, but Toby couldn't figure out what it was. His father gave him a mirthless smile as he began to drag the small boy along the ground. Toby shielded his face as small twigs and stones scratched at him, creating small cuts on his face. He had lost his mask and goggles somewhere during the fight. He couldn't see through the darkness as his father continued to drag him though the woods, going deeper into the dark.
