Barry and I had gone back to my apartment. After an adorkable spout of jealously from Barry after meeting Richard, and after I promised Barbara I would call her, we had decided to watch movies, eventually falling asleep.
The next morning, Barry was gone. He had left a note, saying he had gone to STAR Labs after waking up early and getting a funny feeling.
Cisco texting me not too long afterwards. It wasn't just any text. The text read, "Nightingale."
We had decided that this would be our 911 text if we needed it.
I rushed to STAR Labs, panicking.
"What? What is it, Cisco? I got your text." I said, adrenaline rushing through me after running so quickly to get here.
And then I saw her.
Caitlin. She was wrapped in a blanket, sitting in a chair, staring at the ground.
"Cait.." I breathed.
~
"What happened? How did you get away?" Cisco asked, cautiously.
"He let me go. I didn't think he would; I thought it was a trap." She shuddered. She looked at Barry. "But he told me you were dead."
"I'm not. I'm right here." Barry assured her.
"We're all here, together." I said, slowly.
"Snow." Wells said. "Jay's not here."
"He's gonna overrun the city." Caitlin said, shaking again.
"Listen to me, he's not going to succeed." Barry said, crouching down and putting his hand on her knee.
"You don't know that. You don't know what he is capable of." Caitlin disagreed.
Barry went into this spout about the Speed Force being on our side. After he left the room, Iris sighed. "Alright, doesn't anyone else think he's being a little too overconfident?""Yeah. Maybe it was his time in the speed force." Joe shrugged.
"I mean, he's acting like he's invincible now or something." Iris said back.
"Somebody needs to talk to him before letting his guard down gets him hurt or worse." Harry said.
"Well, he did just bring me out of a coma." Jesse said.
"And he gave me my speed back." I agreed.
"Well, like I said, somebody needs to talk to him." Harry said, shaking his head.
~
A little bit later, and there was a loud beep from the computer.
"CCPD." Cisco announced.
"Zoom." Caitlin shivered.
"Barry, no-" I began, but it was too late.
We watched on the surveillance cams. Zoom did not know I had my powers back, so I could do nothing to help Barry at the moment. I was the secret weapon.
~
Luckily, Zoom did not harm Barry. He basically just wanted to gloat.
Later on, Barry had gone to talk to Wally when Cisco got an alert.
"Barry, we got a major meta-human alert at 5th and Main get there." I said to him. I hated not being out there in the field.
"5th and Main. Got it. " Barry said, speeding off.
"Barry, are you there?"
"Oh, my god."
"Barry? What is it?" I asked, anxious.
"It's Laurel Lance."
I gasped. We listened carefully on the comm.
"Laurel Lance is dead." The meta said. "On this Earth, anyway. Poor Black Canary. Bye-bye, birdy."
"Earth-2 Laurel." Cisco sighed.
"You knew her doppelganger?" Harry asked.
"We didn't just know her." Cisco said. Caitlin looked over at him. "We loved her."
"So what do I call you?" Barry asked. You could hear the pain in his voice.
"You can call me Black Siren."
"Guys we gotta do something. She's gonna hurt him!" I said.
"You can't go out there. Zoom will make you a target." Harry insisted.
I huffed, watching the events unfold, and being helpless against it.
