I'll be busy for a few hours,  but a new chapter will be out later  tonight

I couldn't sleep that night. First night out of the hosptial, and I'm having nightmares. Not just any nightmare. Everything from that vision.

Two in preticular...

"I was just saying, it's raining."  "

Okay." Nate sighed, walking ahead. All of a sudden, Mark shoved Nate out of the way, as a tree fell near him.

"-- Hey --" he snapped, sitting up from where he was pushed. "What was --"

I look over to see Mark sit up slowly, before helping Nate up. "Sorry, man.." He said quietly.. "I saw the tree, and it was going straight for you."

"No.. it's okay.. Thank you." I walk over to the two of them, only to pull both Nate and Mark out of the way as soon as I saw Lightening strike the tree, and set it on fire.

"Run." Nate whispered. "Run."

All three of us ran out of the way. But I stopped.. I couldn't breathe. Fire was spreading like crazy. Catching onto the dead leaves, and wood in the forest. Nate grabbed my arm, pulling me away from the spreading fire. Mark wasn't anywhere to be seen though.  "

Mark!" I yell, stopping, as Nate stopped. "Mark! Mark! Where are you??"  He's no where.. I run back to the tree, but I got pulled back by Nate as the burning trees around us.

"Nate? He's gone..." But I was cut off by Nate's coughing. "

You okay?"

"Inhaled the smoke." He looked up.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I'll be okay." I say. He coughed again, looking over to me, then back to the burning tree. "We lost two in one day." He closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose, slowly shaking his head. He then looked up, his brown eyes filled with pain, and exhaustion.

"We're the only ones left." I say.

"Yeah." He muttered quietly.

"Now what?" I ask him. He looked at me.

"I don't know." He said, looking over to the fire, which was now dying down from the pouring rain. "But we go that way. He sighed quietly, before walking..

Mark was killed by a fire, Brett died from poison, Andy and Hunter were attacked by wolves, and Morgan fell to her death at the beginning of this all...

Now what?

I feel the pain from that. I can still hear Mark's pained yell. I can still see the dead look in Nate's eyes.. But I want to think of something better than that.. When they were all still alive. Morgan didn't fall to her death, Nate didn't fall, heart broken, no one else died, and I didn't murder Nate.

But his death replayed in my head.. Like a bad movie on replay.

"You were the one I was looking for. The little musician." He muttered quietly.

Nate barely managed to look up. He keeled down to Nate, pulling his head up, forcing Nate to look at him. I could see the rise an fall of Nate's chest. Quick and shallow. Most of them would come out as rasped gasps for air, like he was losing strength.

"And to think, you'd show up, the minute you're friend was going to die. You really are just a Puppet.." He chuckled. "You've come a long way. You poor thing... Lost so much. Your girlfriend. Your best friends. So many close friends, and now you're just going to lose you're life.. It wasn't needed anyways." He sighed.

Nate's shallow gasps for air, were still the same.

The man chuckled throwing him down. "Pitiful excuse of a life. Immune to everything else that was thrown at him, only to die after this lousy hit. That's not normal for a human. No, not at all.. There's no way you could survive everything else I've thrown you're way and die now.. Unless you're carrying a Spirit within you're body, and now it decided to leave you!" Nate remained on the ground, unable to move. He still has his eyes on Nate's, and Nate's dulling gaze locked with his. "You're trying so hard to cling to the last threads of your life, why? Why could you understand, you're not worth the fight anymore." Nate struggled to his feet once more, optioning his balance. He look so beaten down. That one hit screwed him up. "You took my girlfriend away from me, you insensitive Bastard." He snarled. "I will not die, until you have suffered the way I did." Within a split second, the man, pinned Nate to the closest wall, only to pull him off, holding him by his broken left arm, as if he thought he'd escape. I saw the way Nate cringed. "Don't you see, Nathan. You're fighting for the last thread of your life. And it'll never be saved." Nate only glared at him. His brown eyes dulling quicker and quicker. His quick breathing getting more shallow. "Such a sad story, isn't it?" The demon asked, taking a claw like group of finger-nail's, digging them in to Nate's stomach, making him cringe. I saw him bleed. He'll die before we can get out of here. The demon chuckled quietly tightening his grip on Nate's arm, pulling him around, like a doll, dragging him closer to the edge. "Getting so far, to avenge your girlfriend, only to die?"

Nate looked up faintly, his eyes failing to meet his target. "I'd rather d-die, then suffer with her d-death.." Nate spit out blood as he said that.

The demon looked at him tilting his head. "Your a strong little Puppet, aren't you?" He asked. "I've wanted you dead for so long, Nathan. It should've been you to fall down the gorge, it should've been you who was attacked by the hungry wolves, and it should've been you, who was taken by my army, only to be killed." He explained. "You just don't die so you?" He asked. "You're stronger than I thought. But here, I have you at your weakest. Now do as I say and die."

Nate glared at him, "never," he spit up more blood, coughing some it out. "I'll never surrender my life to you, not while I can stop you." "Stop me? In the condition you are in now, I'd love to see you try."

Nate didn't even have a second to react. The demon dressed in black, dug his hand into Nate's chest, which caused Nate to drop limp to the dirt ground.

I need to prevent this. I need to prevent danger.. I have to keep him safe.. Somehow...
