Chapter Three: Newbie

I'm sure I know what you're thinking.

Why the hell didn't I remember you had such good taste in music?

Thank you, but I doubt that was what you were thinking.

That question is in your point of view, by the way.

But what you're really wondering is why the hell I'm up at 6:30 in the morning. Well, work. Yes, today is the week I finally start my job at the crime scene investigation place. I'll be such a newbie, ick! I spent a lot of time mentally preparing myself for this very week, and even though I've done a hell of a good job, I'm nowhere near ready to officially become an adult. The good news about it is that Hinata works there with me, so I won't be alone. Actually, we're supposed to walk together at 7:30 since we work right around the corner. Thank you again parents for making sure everything was perfect. Note the sarcasm. Such a conceited little rich girl. With pink hair.

Okay, I need to get my act together if I want to make it in time to actually get a nice and fulfilling breakfast meal.

I fell out of bed, literally, groaning and taking the covers with me. I was so not ready for this. Dammit. I dragged myself to the bathroom, looking like a fallen burrito queen in all the covers. Yes, they were still attached to me. I made it to the bathroom and ditched my sheets outside the door.

Okay, if I took 30 minutes to get dressed and all that, it would be around seven, I could eat in fifteen or so minutes and spend the rest of the time waiting for Hinata and watching TV.

With that plan in mind, I shut the bathroom door behind me and started the shower. After I was done, I left the bathroom. Obviously. Actually, I'd forgotten my bed sheets were still there and I eh...tripped.

I dressed in the uniform they had, which were black/gray/khaki pants or a skirt, a black/gray/khaki suit-like coat, and a collared shirt. We could choose what color shirt we wanted. I picked up my uniform on Thursday of last week since it was the only day I wasn't with my buddies. I went to my job building thing. The building in which I would be working in - that's better! - and they gave me my uniform, and took my ID picture. They'd give me the ID today, they told me.

Anyhoo, I rushed to my room, putting on the uniform and a bright TARDIS blue (Ari note: Doctor Who!) collared shirt. I put on some black flats - since I wasn't a fan of heels and they refused to let me wear vans or converse. I did my makeup in it's usual winged eyeliner and mascara way. Again, nothing on the bottom of my face. I brushed my recently straightened hair and pouted at it. I couldn't wait for it to grow back. I want my side swept bangs again!

After I was done prepping, I went to the kitchen to get some cereal. Yeah yeah, I know what you're thinking. Not very fulfilling, but really. Have you ever eaten more than one bowl? That shit will keep you full until lunch. I poured some Cocoa Pebbles (Ari note: YASSSSSSS) into the bowl and milk and chewed on it. I loved this cereal, so for some reason the song by Bryan Adams came to my head.

Now nothing can take you away from me. We've been down that road before. But that's over now. You keep me coming back for more. And baby, you're all that I want. When you're lying here in my arms. I'm finding it hard to believe. We're in heaven!

Yeah, I'm clearly insane.

The point is, this cereal was great and so was the song.

After I was done, I put the plate in the sink and went to sit down on the couch to watch TV.

I decided to watch Investigation Discovery because I needed to get motivated. They were showing the show called "Nightmare Next Door" and it was halfway finished. I caught up on what was going on and was able to finish it when there was a knock at my door.
