You couldn't see something was wrong with Hyungwon if you weren't looking for the signs. He kept smiling and laughing and being his normal awkward self. He wore make-up to hide his dark circles under his eyes and if asked about the redness of them, he would answer it was because he was allergic to something.

Only his smile was forced, the make-up was not enough to fully cover the huge dark circles that were more similar to bruises by then and it was winter so there were no allergens in the air.

Chae Hyungwon was falling apart. If the members weren't so busy, they would notice it. They would immediately act on it, help him or tell someone to do so.

But they were too busy staring at Hoseok and Minhyuk with as much hate and disgust as they could muster. They were too far gone in their self-proclaimed revenge to notice one of their precious friends was slowly killing himself.

And that was what he was doing. Because this time, it was too much. He could take everything his life threw on him so far but that one incident had left him totally hopeless. He was assured of Hoseok's unconditional love so many times that he actually believed it. He was naive enough to believe someone would actually be able to love him and treat him well. He was stupid enough to start thinking he was actually not as worthless as he thought before.

So while everyone was busy with hating each other, he would go to the only place he felt remotely safe in and he would take the only thing he felt remotely calm with.

The roof of their building and a pocket knife.

He would sit there whenever he felt like the walls had been closing on him again and like he couldn't breathe. He would sit there whenever he felt like crying or having a panic attack again. That is, he would sit there for the majority of his time.

Sometimes he would use the small knife just to feel that one thing didn't work out as he planned.

He was still alive and the pain on his wrists and legs was a great reminder of that.

No-one could see him cry on the roof. No-one could see him break and shatter even more. It was a perfect place for him.

The days passed and passed and Hyungwon was getting more and more lifeless. He stopped caring if anyone saw, if anyone noticed. They wouldn't, anyway. He stopped pretending he took care of himself, that he ate or slept. He couldn't find the strength in him to do it anymore.

He was so tried, overused and resigned. He just wanted for it all to end.
