Save Me Before I Fall (rewriting owo)

A tall, willowy woman held a young child in her arms. 

The child fought to escape her hold, pushing toward a group of laughing children. Tears stained her cheeks as she beat at her mother's arm.

"Let me go!"

The woman bent down and spoke in the child's ear.

"I know you want to fight.

And you know I want you to be kind.

But, in the end, you will make the Choice.

I will not be there to hold you back.

But... someday, when you make the Choice, I hope you'll think of me...

And you will do as you see fit."

She released the child, who stood there, staring at her mother with her bright red eyes.

 Then her eyes narrowed and her fists clenched. She turned toward the group of children and took a step forward.

The mother took a breath and turned away.

A scream pierced the air and the children scattered.
