This is the final chapter of Save Me Before I Fall.
There will be two sequels. The next one will be Save Us Before We Fall. I wanted to keep the three titles similar.
This is An Ending, but not the ending.

We continue through the capital.

Not a living soul around.

Only me, and the faint yellow silhouette of Phoenix.

We walk in silence.

There's nothing left to say.

We both know that our journey is nearly over.

A wall of white light meets our gaze.

This... is the Barrier. He pauses. Are you ready, Chara?

I only nod.

Then... there is movement behind me.

"Chara... is that you?"

I turn, slowly.

The golden hair and worried expression of Asgore Dreemurr, Monster King in the Mountain, greets my eyes.

Phoenix fades from view. I feel his nervousness in me. Yellow light flickers around my hand, like the yellow pistol trying to take form, but nothing comes.

Asgore looks above my head and something changes in his expression. He seems.... resigned. Disappointed.

What does he see?

I look up - nothing.

"You've been busy.

Oh... your LV. He sees your Level of Violence.

How?

I'm not sure.

"Why did you do this? Do you really hate us that much?"

I stay silent.

He takes a deep breath, closing his eyes. Suddenly, a red glowing trident materializes in his hand. My soul glows bright before me, surrounded by Justice yellow. Phoenix's pistol takes form in my hand.

A strange light shines through the barrier.

You can't avoid this fight. As the King of the monsters, it is his duty to his people to stop you. You can't show Mercy here.

I take a deep breath and clench my fist around the pistol.

Stay determined, Chara.

I lift the gun up to my face, closing my eyes as the barrel taps against my forehead. When I open my eyes, a red glow reflects against its surface.
