It's been a week since you and Connor started being friends, and in all honesty, things weren't going as smoothly as you would've liked. Of course, it's not like the situation was too bad. Hell, Connor even apologized to Evan and returned his letter but, it's not like he was going to be cured after making a friend. He still got into fights and lost his temper but, at least he was trying to do better.
You've tried to get Connor used to your small circle of friends, and so far, Evan's the only one he actually enjoys spending time with. You couldn't exactly blame him for not liking Jared though. He still called Connor things like "school shooter" or "druggy" And you couldn't even count the amount of times they would have the equivalent of an angry staring contest.
There wasn't really much you could do about this for the time being so you just tried too keep them apart as much as you could.

Well, enough filler, let's get into the good stuff.

The bell rang as the day ended and everybody left their classes. You stood by the entrance, waiting for Connor and Evan to meet you, as the three of you were going to hand out at Connor's house. It wasn't long before the two boys showed up and you smiled. "Hey, how're my Edgy Ghost and my Tree Boy doing?"
"I uh- I'm fine."
"I'm ready to fling myself into the sun."

"Well isn't that just a wonderful attitude."

"At least I'm being honest."

"Whatever, let's just get to the edgiest house in town!" Evan gave a little nod and smile and the three of you went to Connor's car. Evan, surprisingly, called shotgun before you could and you had to sit in the back seat like a pitiful child. Connor started driving and both you and Connor could hear Evan humming the tune to whatever was playing on the radio but, neither of you commented on it in fear that he would stop. It didn't take long for you all to get to Connor's, and you and Evan were amazed at how big the house was. "Welp, welcome to my home." He swung open the door and you and Evan walked awkwardly behind the taller boy. A woman was in the kitchen doing the dishes and she looked over at the three of you, smiling. "Connor, do you have a group project to do?"

"No, Cynthia, these are my friends, Evan and Y/n. We're hanging out." She looked shocked for a minute and then excited. "Oh, sweetheart, I'm so happy you're finally making friends! Have fun!" You gave a soft smile and Evan started fiddling with the hem of his shirt. "Yeah, okay, bye. We're going upstairs so don't bother us." You and Evan were practically dragged upstairs and you gave a small wave to Cynthia. Connor led us to his bedroom and kicked the door closed behind us. "This, is my sanctuary." He flopped down onto the bed and a small chuckle escaped your lips. You weren't exactly sure what to do so you just stood awkwardly next to Evan. Connor wasn't exactly sure what to do either, seeing as he's never had a friend over before. "So uh, you guys can sit on the bed or on the floor, whatever you want to do I guess and we can- shit, what do friends do together?" You let yourself fall backwards onto the bed beside Connor and Evan seated himself on a beanbag chair on the ground. "Dude, just pick something that you like doing and we'll all do it together." Connor thought for a minute before responding.  "Well, I like smoking pot." Evan's eyes widened with fear. "O-oh I really d-don't think I should be smoking drugs. I-i mean, unless you guys want me to, then I'll do it but, I'm just worried about my m-mom finding out and I really just don't want to get in trouble..." He was hyperventilating now so you got off the bed and grabbed his hand and started rubbing circles on his back. "Ev, nobody's going to make you do something you don't want to. You won't get in trouble and nobody's mad at you. Just breath, okay bud?" He nodded and gave a weak smile before his breathing started returning to normal. Connor gave Evan a concerned look. "Dude, are you okay now?" Evan gave a silent nod and relaxed into the bean bag chair. "S-sorry for freaking out..."
"Don't be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong." You said this before moving back onto the bed and laying on your back. There was an awkward silence before Connor said, "So I'm guessing that's a no to pot?" This caused you and Evan to erupted in laughter and Connor couldn't help but join in. "Good god. If this is what having friends is like then I should've tried to make some a while ago." You chuckled and slapped your arm over Connor's face. (I dunno if other people do this to their friends. This is just something I do as a weird form of affection) "Well my lanky bean, I'm glad you enjoy our presence so much because you're stuck with us now." Connor gave an unenthusiastic "yay." You rolled your eyes and then a phone started ringing. Instinctively, both you and Connor pulled out your phones but, it was Evan's phone that was ringing. "Oh jeez, I uh- It's my mom. S-should I go in the hallway or um, w-where should I go to talk to her?" Connor just shrugged just shoulders. "I dunno. You can just talk to her in here I guess." Evan nodded and answered the phone. "Hey, Mom. No I'm not. I'm at a friend's house. Yep. Okay. I'll be there in 15 minutes. I love you too. Bye." The call ended and Evan looked at you and Connor. "Hey guys, I uh, I have to go now. My mom got out of work early a-and she's going to make dinner. So um, bye." You and Connor said your goodbyes and Evan left the house quickly, leaving you and the tallest of beans alone. "So Connor, what do you wanna do?"

"I dunno. Do you want to raid the kitchen for snacks?"
"Hell yeah!" Connor got off the bed and brought you downstairs to where his mother had been when you got to the house. He opened up a cabinet to reveal several different snacks. "Grab whatever you can carry because we're only making one trip."
"Yes sir!" You grabbed several packs of oreos, chips, and a few random bags of candy. "Jesus fuck Connor. How much food do you have?"
"I dunno. This is just what happens when you're rich and don't know how to spend your money." You nodded and Connor zipped up his hoodie to carry more food in. "Alright, back to the sanctuary." Connor led you back upstairs and scoped the hallway as if he was trying to hide from someone. Well, if that's what he was doing then he failed, as his sister saw the two of you and walked over. You could hear Connor say "oh fuck." under his breath. "Connor, what the hell are you doing?"
"None of your business."

"Okay. Who's the chick?"

"She's my friend and don't fucking refer to her as a chick."

"Connor, it's not a big deal. Let's just go back to your room."

"Alright..." You smiled at Zoe and followed Connor down the hall to his bedroom.  He shut the door and dumped his snack stash onto the bed and you did the same. "Sorry about Zoe. She's an annoying little bitch."

"Don't be sorry. She doesn't seem that bad."

"Yeah well, you don't have to live with her."

"You've got me there my friend." You tore open a pack of oreos with your teeth and proceeded to lick the cream out of one. "So Y/n, can I ask you something?"

"Sure. Go for it."

"Why do you hang out with Jared?"

"I mean, I've known him since freshman year and despite what a lot of people think, he's a really good friend once you get close to him."

"Damn, you just see the good in everyone, don't you?"

"I don't really know what you're talking about."

"You can somehow tolerate someone as douchey as Jared and you're even taking a chance on me. You must have the patience of a Saint." There were several oreos shoved into your mouth so you swallowed them as quickly as you could before responding. "Connor, I can assure you, I don't see the good in everyone. Honestly, I think most people deserve to rot in hell."
"I don't think I've related more to anything in my entire life." You opened up a large bag of warheads and looked at Connor. "Hey, do you dare me to shove ten if these into my mouth at the same time?"
"Fuck yeah!" Being a woman of your word you opened up ten of the little sour candies and put them into your mouth. After about five seconds, the reader had realized she had made an irreversibly bad mistake. There were tears in your eyes and your face had started flushing bright pink. You quickly spat out the candy onto a plastic bag and wiped the tears from your eyes. Of course, Connor had been laughing at you the entire time. "You know, it's not that funny."

"Coming from someone who couldn't see the look on your face!"

"Whatever. You try and shove a ton of sour candy in your mouth."

"No thanks. I don't think I'd make the same mistake as you."

"Fight me Murphy." He responded by flicking your nose and claiming his victory. You were both in a fit of giggles and you both wished you didn't have to return to school the next day.
