Light and Lightning (LaxusXreader)

Days past and everyone is still in Crocus after the cleaning of town and getting the evacuees back to their rightful places. The King invited all the wizards for a Ball for all the help they did for Crocus. Reader is in the girl's changing room along with everyone else. Reader holds up a dress to examine it.

"It's called a dress, sweetie. Remember I introduced you to one 7 years ago?" say Evergreen as she laughs
"Very funny, I'm just not sure if I can wow Laxus with this."
"What's to wow him for? You've had him wrapped around your finger every since you first walked in the guild.. but by you wearing this dress, he will certainly take great notice."
Reader is surprised by Evergreen's comment so she had to ask.
"What did you mean by having him around my finger?"
"Well.. back then, before you showed up, there was something bugging the heck out of Laxus. He wouldn't talk about it to us, but he was fine as soon as you showed up to the guild."
Reader is still confused.
"You know what, I've said too much, the best person to talk to about it is Laxus. So get ready! I'll be waiting for you downstairs." says Evergreen as she walks off.
Reader looks at the purple dress then smiles. Then she gets ready as fast as she can.

Down at the ball.
Laxus is already standing there with Freed and Bixlow, talking. Just then girls popped up around Laxus holding onto his arms.
"You're so manly."
"Please dance with me." says the girls
Laxus says nothing.
"Release Laxus at once!" Freed says to the woman surrounding Laxus.
Evergreen walks up to them.
"Really Laxus.. what do you think (Y/N) would do if she seen this?"
"(Y/N)?" asks one of the girls
"(Y/N)..  as in the (Y/N) who beat Wizard Saint Jura on the power machine?" says another girl
"That's her. She even almost knocks me out when we go hand to hand." says Laxus
The girls let go of Laxus, scared from hearing the words that came out of Laxus' mouth.
"Smart move, girls." says Evergreen "now shoo!"
The girls run off. Laxus, Bixlow and Freed laugh together.
"Now couldn't you have just shoo'd them yourself, Laxus?"
Laxus hears reader's voice behind him and turns to see her standing there in a purple ball gown dress.
'Wow!' thought Laxus

"Well that was fast." smiled Evergreen.
"Like you said, I just needed the dress to wow Laxus... I think I did." says reader as she giggled, looking at Laxus with his mouth open.
Laxus walks up to reader and puts out his hand and bows.
"May I have this dance?"

Reader reaches for his hand but is suddenly grabbed by someone else and takes reader away. Reader, still having her eyes on Laxus, sees him watching her getting taken away. Laxus smiles. Reader looks to see who grabbed her hand and it was Sting.
"Sting?"
"Will you please honor me with a dance.. please.." says Sting as he bows.
Reader looks back at Laxus and he nods his head in agreement.
"Okay, just one dance." says reader
"That's all I ask." says Sting.

Sting signals the court musicians, and they start playing a lively tune. Everyone else around them grabs their partners and end up in a whirlwind of dancing and laughter.

"So (Y/N), I just wanted to apologize." says Sting as they dance.
Reader says nothing.
"I know I've been impossible to deal with since we were little kids. I never meant it to annoy you. I just didn't know how to make friends. My only friends were Rogue and Lector.."
"What about Frosh?"
"Oh yeah and Frosh too. As you can tell, I'm terrible with knowing friendships. I mean, you've seen how my guild was. I totally understand why you didn't want to join. I just wanted you there with me."
"Why?"
"Well.. I can't explain it.. ever since I first had a taste of your magic, it felt like I've known that taste before, then I seen you and I felt attached."
Reader makes a face.
"No, not like that. An attachment like I have with Lector. Ever since I met Lector, I had an attachment to him. The same happened with you. I really wanted you to be around me cause I felt like you were my other friend I was suppose to be around.Even though you gave me a good punch to the face."
Reader laughs.
"Sorry about that. So what you're saying is.. all you wanted was my friendship?"
"Yes!"
"That's all? No romantic stuff?"
"No, have I ever said I wanted you as my girlfriend?"
"No.. but you did say 'mine'."
Sting laughs.
"I'm sorry for laughing but that's probably why you hated me more. I always wondered why you hated the idea of being my friend. I didn't want to give up though."
Reader laughs too.
"It makes sense now. The more angry I got, you yourself became angry as well." says reader
"Yeah, I'm changing my ways and my guild's ways."
"Your guild?!"
"Yeah, I'm Sabertooth's new master. Our way is gonna be exactly like Fairy Tail's.. Guildmates are friends.. and most importantly.. treat them like family."
"I like that."
"So you'll join?"
Reader makes a face again then they both laugh. Then they hear the song end.
"Looks like this is the end of the dance. Glad I had this talk with you. Now will you be my friend?"
Reader laughs then nods her head.
"Awesome." says Sting as he hugs reader.
Then they let go. Sting walks the other way and waves his hand.

Reader loses sight of Laxus, she looks for him and finds him standing outside the balcony alone.
"This is a very romantic spot."
Laxus turns then smiles.
"Did you have fun dancing?" he asks
"I did."
Laxus smiles.
"So tell me something." says reader all serious.
"What?"
"Did I have you wrapped around my finger ever since I first joined Fairy Tail?"
Laxus has a shocked face, then reader sees some pink go to his cheeks, he's blushing.
"Laxus?"
"I didn't think you would ever ask me that.. but yeah.. you did, remember that time I spilled my feelings to you?"
"Oh yeah, I remember. So I guess I did." says reader smiling.
"Yeah, even before you came to the guild." says Laxus
"What?!" says reader shocked this time, then thinks.

Flashback

Reader and Laxus are standing by the tree she ran to when Wendy told her that Laxus knows about her crush.
"This is the first time we've ever had an actual conversation. Yet it feels natural." says reader
"Yeah, I guess you can say we've always had that connection." says Laxus with a smile "ever since you first joined Fairy Tail, I somehow knew you were coming."

End of Flashback

"You knew I was coming.. how?" Reader asks Laxus
Laxus laughs.
"You haven't figured it out yet?.. Your light path spell."
Reader is confused. Laxus continues.
"After I walked out of the guild due to another argument with gramps, a bunch of light orbs covered my body and it looked like the light orbs made a path too. They wouldn't come off, so I just zapped them off with my lighting and walked away. The path was still there though, right in front of the guild doors for almost a week. It bugged the hell out of me because the thunder legion couldn't see the light path right in front of their eyes."
Reader is still listening to Laxus.
"Then that day you walked in and joined, I left the guild. I noticed the path was gone and I figured it was you but wasn't too sure.. until you confirmed it when you used your light path in front of me."
Reader smiles.
"Now you know." says Laxus then he laughs.
"Laxus, you know my light path shows me where to go when needed, right?"
"Yeah, I figured I got in it's way."
"No, I asked it something before I cast it. Let me try again." says reader then she casts a spell "light path, take me to my destiny."
The light path then leads to Laxus and covers his body again. Laxus looks at his body and then back at reader. Reader smiles.
"Laxus Dreyar. You are my destiny." says reader as she dissolves the spell.
Laxus walks up to reader, smiling. He takes her hand.
"Can I have this dance?"
Reader and Laxus hear a slow, sweet song coming from inside, they then dance together under the stars. Laxus steps away and pulls her closer in time with the music. Laxus leans forward, pressing his lips to reader's. The two kiss to the sounds of the music fading around them.
"(Y/N) (L/N), you're my destiny, too. I love you." says Laxus
Reader smiles.
"Finally you say it. I love you too."
Laxus leans in and kisses reader again.
