Chapter Eleven: Awkward Dinner

"Are we ready to eat?" Ashton asked, "We're starving."

I rolled my eyes, "Americans."

"You know you love me, Saku," he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"Oh yes, I love you so much Ashy Poo," I said lovingly, then pried his arm off my waist.

I went to turn around when I saw Sasuke staring at me. His eyebrows furrowed and a scowl etched onto his features. I raised an eyebrow. He broke eye contact and pushed himself off the counter. I sucked my teeth quietly and consulted Inner as I got food.

What was up with him?

'I think it was the whole thing with Ashton.'

What?! But he's gay!

'Well, it was pretty loud, and no one else knows he's gay. I know you guys play like that but to everyone else, it really looked like you two were a couple,' she shrugged.

So what, he was jealous? I thought we agreed to be friends.

'He's really jealous honey. And you guys didn't agree for friendship. You brought it up and he just went with it because he didn't want to have you hate him instead.'

But I can't clear things up with him unless Ashton wants everyone to know.

'Just ask Ashton if you can tell Sasuke, I don't think he'd mind though. I mean he came out way before you were friends. But still, check with him.'

Ugh, you're right. Thanks though.

'You're welcome, I'm always right though,' she chuckled.

When she wasn't being a pain in the ass, she was actually really good at giving me advice.

I noticed that everyone brought a little something to contribute to our little gathering, I appreciated that. They might not have told me, but at least they didn't make me cook everything. They're really amazing friends. Ugh, why am I so sentimental today?

We all piled into the rarely used dining room, which held around 14 people, just enough. I feel conceited again.

I sat down, Ashton and Naruto taking the seats next to me. It was 6:32 now and everyone was sitting happily around the table. Except Sasuke, the jealous bastard was sulking and sending subtle glares in Ashton and I's direction. I planned to corner him later.

"Sakura, you never told us about your American friends but you told them about us, I'm hurt," Ino said the last part dramatically, so I knew she wasn't actually hurt.

"I'm sorry," I said genuinely, "I guess I forgot..."

"You forgot about us?" Carolyn fake cried and buried her face into Ashton's shoulder since she was right beside him.

I huffed, "I'm hurting everyone today."

Everyone in the table laughed, even Sasuke's lips curved upwards in that small smile I used to love. A pang went through me at the nostalgia. I ignored it and dinner went on. We shared some good laughs. But then the question was asked when we finished eating.

"So, why didn't you tell us Ashton was your boyfriend?" Naruto asked.

That silenced everything. The lighthearted conversations we were having with each other ceased and the atmosphere became extremely tense and awkward. Sasuke became stiff and clenched his hand into a fist.

"We're not dating," Ashton snorted.

"But you guys were all..." Tenten trailed.

Ashton and I made eye contact. We've been friends for a short time but we can still have conversations just with our eyes as if we've known each other forever. He gives me a look as if saying 'Can I trust them?' And I nod my head.

"I'm gay you guys, and I've got a boyfriend," he shrugged.

Everyone's eyes went wide and Sasuke looked up, his attention re-captured.

"Well that's awkward," Ino laughed.

Everyone followed, at first it was just low chuckles but then it turned into full-blown laughter. Everyone's faces were red and with tears. When we calmed down, all the girls besides Carolyn and myself asked Ashton about his boyfriend. Hell, even Naruto and Shikamaru were interested.

I rolled my eyes and brought my paper plate that Hinata provided for us along with disposable utensils and cups to the kitchen and threw it away.

I stretched, suddenly aware that I was tired from my long day at work. But, I couldn't go to sleep with company, so I I sucked it up. I don't think they were moving from the dining room, so I went back there to find poor Ashton still cornered. Carolyn talking with the rest of the guys about video games. I didn't want to be a part of Ashton's conversation. I sent an apologetic look to him, but he just glared at me. I chuckled evilly and joined the guys and Carolyn in their GTA V conversation.

It was now 9:39 and the last of my friends just left. Everyone had a good time and they wanted to do this again before the twins left.

"I like your friends," Carolyn said.

"I did too, but that Sasuke guy didn't like me much till I came out," Ashton laughed a bit.

"Yeah...he and I used to date in high school before I moved."

"Oh my god. He was THE Sasuke?" Carolyn squeaked.

"He was hot," Ashton said.

Carolyn and I shot him a look.

He raised his hands up in surrender, "To be fair, all of your male friends are hot."

I let out an agitated sigh.

"Rick's hotter though."

At least he complimented his actual boyfriend this time.

"What am I gonna do with you?" Carolyn face-palmed.

"You can take me to a male strip club," he suggested, a smirk rising on his features.

"Oh my god," I groaned.

"I actually looked this up! There's one like ten minutes from here!" He squealed and pulled out his phone.

"No. No no no. No. You're going to sleep," Carolyn said.

"Aw sis!" He whined, "I want to see them take some clothes off!"

"Oh god shut up!" She said as she dragged him away to his room.

"And dance on poles!" He cried before he was out of my eyesight. I heard Carolyn scoff and Ashton moan sexually.

He always did this on purpose just to annoy us and make us extremely uncomfortable with the opposite sex and himself.

I yawned and made my way towards my room. I heard scuffling and complaining coming from Ashton's room and I rolled my eyes. Siblings.

I reached my door, changed, and finally went to sleep.

Hinata: I can't believe they're still at it.

Naruto: I know! I already knitted 3.14 sweaters!

Sasuke: 3.14? Is that possible?

Naruto: Yeah! -holds up sweater- it has a slice of blueberry pie on it!

Me: I'm not exactly sure that's what 3.14 means...

Naruto: Giiirl, whatevs.

Shikamaru: -moshing with a random person that looks very scared-

Ino: Oh no. There he goes again.

Me: Well it's late and I was feeling creative and apologetic, hence the two chapters. So I'm going to sleep now and yeah. See you guys in the next update!
