CHAPTER ONE ::

[×]

"How do you feel?", Erick, my manager, asked as he took back the bill he gave me for the line.

I shook my head as I laid back grabbing my cigarette and taking a deep drag.

"Numb."

"Who the fuck did a number on you? Was it Daddy? Stepmommy? Why are you such of a cold hearted bitch?"

I shrugged letting the music from beyond the backroom vibrate through my body as I leaned over him to grab the bottle of Tequila and get ready to get back on the floor.

"Go make me some money, Rachelle," he smacked my ass like the the testosterone fueled jackass that he was.

And I complied.

-

"$1500 for me and that is your stack. Damn baby, what is your secret?", Erick wondered with a wide grin on his face as I took the other, much bigger stack from off the counter and rolled my eyes.

"If I told you, I'd have to kill you."

"Long as you make money like this every day, I'm good."

I pulled on my shades, threw my money in my purse, and headed out the back door to my car lighting a cigarette as the cold air hit me.

"I see you still find a way to defy your parents," a familiar voice stopped me from walking up to my car door. "I guess being a coked out little whore is all you'll ever be."

"Yeah, maybe it is."

"Stop putting up this front, Frankie. Your dad's going out of his mind with worry."

"Why do you care, Gemma? You hate my guts, have since I was born. What made you want to track me down now?", I asked flicking the ashes off to the side as I lifted a brow at my father's high school crush.

She crossed her arms and seemed to be trying to find something in me but I knew there was nothing she could see besides the empty stare I was giving her.

"He's dying, Frankie. Better if he had family near then none at all."

"My mom-"

"Ran off on him the first chance she got."

"Guess she finally got smart and left that shit hole," I smirked tossing the cigarette down crushing it with the toe of my heels. "What do you want from me?"

"Just come give him the motivation he needs to fight this. It's hard enough knowing he's got Cancer and even worse to know that your family walked out on you."

"Yeah, cause he was a ray of sunshine to begin with."

"At least you had a father," she snapped.

I chuckled sticking my tongue into my cheek to keep from telling her how I really felt.

She could really get under someone's skin, but I no longer feared the wannabe Queen of Charming and Samcro.

"And you probably won't care, but he's not doing so good."

"Why should I care?"

"Don't pretend like you've forgotten everything, Francesca."

"Don't push it, Gemma," I scowled taking out my keys and unlocking my car door before opening it. "I will drop by and give him my condolences but as for that one, I'm over it. You should be happy."

I climbed in and shut my door not wanting to hear anymore.

The silence made me cringe so I flipped on the radio letting the music drown out the voices.

It just made me forget the pain and anger.
