A Fix in Time ~Benlos~

~Carlos' POV~

I opened my eyes quickly, hoping to see Ben, or Mal, or anyone other Sazana. But when I opened my eyes, there stood Sazana. She was in the same spot before I closed my eyes and so was I.

It didn't work.

"What is going on? Why didn't it work?" I ask, frustrated. I can't keep getting my hopes up just to have come crashing down again.

"I don't know. It's like... it's like the universe doesn't want you to go back." She said, clearly confused.

She was right, that's exactly what it seems like is happening. But Ben and I, we were each other's true love, so why would the universe be stopping us? As I was about to respond to her a ringing from her purse stopped me. She went over to check it out and rolled her eyes.

"Beast needs me. I have to go or else he'll throw a fit again." She said while gathering her jacket and quickly pulling me towards the door. "Meet me back here in an hour or two." And with she took off running.

~In the Library~ ~My POV~

"She can't just make a full 180 turn like that in 2 months!" Mal said bitterly to Jay as she was looking at Uma. "Two months can't just make your entire life change."

"Why do you care anyway? If she's not bothering us, we shouldn't bother her. That's how it was back on the Isle." Jay responded blandly, still looking at the screen on the school provided laptop.

"Carlos is right," Mal stated after a moment of silence. Jay, for the first time since they sat down, looked up from his computer with a confused look. "You're going soft. You used to be big and bad, but these past couple of months you've pulled back."

Jay thought about this for a moment, he knew that she was right. Hell, he knew it the first time Carlos had said it, but he didn't know why. To him, it was like the good side had become more prominent, more in control. His conscience played a bigger part in his decision making, not too much to where he was a completely different person, but just enough for Mal to notice.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He responded blankly. He looked around the library until his eyes landed on Harry. More specifically, what Harry was doing, and with whom he was doing it with. "Woah Mal, look at Harry!" He said quietly with a grin held on his face.

When Mal looked over at Harry she was both shocked and amused at the same time. At the opposite side of the library were Harry and Gil, making out like wild animals. Okay maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration but you get the point.

"Since when is Harry g..- Into guys??" Jay asked, shock on his face.

"You ask me like I didn't get here 2 hours ago like you did," Mal responded with sarcasm in her voice. As she turned back to Uma she saw Ben walk by and quickly got an idea. "let's ask him!"

"Who?" Jay said looking around, completely missing Ben.

"Hey, Ben!" Mal yelled before giving Jay a chance to think. Ben looked over and smiled, he started walking towards them and sat down at their table.

"Hey, you guys must be 2 of the four new transfer kids!" Ben said with a smile on his face.

"Yep, in the flesh. Hey, we had a quick question though." Mal stated and he sat his book bag down next to him and got excited at the fact that they were asking him something.

"Oh my goodness, of course! I'm here to help so never think twice about asking me anything!" He responded. "So what's up?" Mal put on a fake smile and then turned her head to Jay.

"Maybe you should ask it," Mal said and Jay just shook his head in amusement and turned towards Ben.
