I SEE YOU

TOBY’S P.O.V

“Whoa this is hard, guys.”  Connor shook his head after read the letter that L girl gave me.

“Let me take a look.”  Riley took it from Connor’s hand.

“Well…”  He mumbled but still reading it.  I just bowed my head.  I was going nowhere.  “You probably should let her go, Toby.  Just in case, we don’t want you to be preoccupied by this.”

“What?  I’m okay.”

“No you’re not.  You kept looking for her whenever there’s crowd.”

“I just want to try everything before we go home.”

“I understand, but you need to know too that there are some things that aren’t mean to be.”

“Yeah Riley thank you for that,” I bowed my head.  “I just…this is ridiculous.  I feel like she’s here but she’s not here.  I’ve never found a fan like her, that’s all.”

“But Manila is literally far from us, you can’t put your faith in this.”

“I know…”

“But hey, we can still come back here again next year!”  Connor cheered me up. 

“Next year huh?”  I smiled awkwardly.  “Yeah, next year…”

“You’ll get through this.  It’s just because you’re still here and you feel like you’re attached to her.  That’s fine.  When we’re going home, you’ll forget this.”  Riley put his hand on my shoulder.

“Probably,” I looked at everyone and went to the bathroom.

I've already spent 20 minutes inside but nobody wanted to knock me even though they had to get ready too.  I did nothing inside actually.  No I meant I was showering but it should have not taken that long.  I just wanted to be alone.  We’re going home today.  The bus was going to the airport.  We’re leaving Manila in any couple hours.  And there would be no chance for me to meet her at the freaking airport, right?  You know what happened to me?  I was being obsessed with girl bracelet and watch.  I kept watching girls left wrist just in case I could recognize something.  Thank you.

“Toby, we’re 10 minutes away from the airport.  Can you come out?”  I heard Connor’s voice, finally.

“Oh yeah I’m changing, be there soon!”

“Thank you!”

There was Connor being so awkward by saying me thank you for nothing.

“Hi…?” I came out of the bathroom and met their eyes.  They looked at me that way; you know how right?

“Hi Toby James McDonough, are you done?  We’re at the freaking parking lot right now waiting for you to get ready.”  Riley widened his eyes – playfully.

“Whoa I’m so sorry you said we’re 10 minutes away Con!”

“That’s…15 minutes ago, I’m pretty sure.”

“Oh gosh sorry guys I’m ready!”  I ran here and there the entire bus, from the bunk to the dressing room and back again to the front lounge.  I took one last look to my bunk and grabbed the letter then put it inside my pocket.  “Done, let’s go.”

They rolled their eyes meanwhile I gave them the hugest grin on earth.  We’re going inside the airport.  Let’s go…okay let’s go home, whatever.
