LOAINE'S P.O.V
Last conversation with Connor and Riley was really tough. So that girl who sent me terror was a girl next door. How dare. I really wanted to shout at her everything I felt and how she simply ruined my life by a single call. And I really wanted to punch Toby in the face because that's almost positive, he's hiding something from me. I don't know how much he knew this, but he just knew it. At least, that girl was always once step ahead of me. Felt like I should be the one who step aback.
In case you wanted to know, I hit my head on the wall accidentally when I heard their conversation with Toby, so that's why I was unconcious for some hours. I meant that's an accident. I wasn't that dramatic alright. So after two hours, Mom found me and she was screaming too loud. I jumped. And hit my head again on the wall. This one was that dramatic.
"LOAINE!" I heard an epic voice from downstairs. Again. "HOW DARE YOU KEEPING THIS AWAY FROM ME?"
"About what?" I answered plainly.
"EVERY SINGLE THING! Toby called me and he asked where you are, because you didn't answer his calls yet. And then I was about to scream to you about that, until Connor called me. You, talk to me. Now."
"What should I tell you.." I was sobbing.
"Oh don't tell me you're fine and all because you're not. So start talking." She threw her body on my bed so I tried to sit properly.
"Connor told you? Okay that's what happened. Nothing else."
"Other than Ally is Toby's ex?"
"Excuse me?" I widened my eyes.
"Oh...uh...I...thought they...have told...you..."
"I only knew that this girl is the real human and she lives nearby them. But..."
"I'm sorry I told you that in an inappropriate way." Eve hugged me. I was frozen already.
"Nah...I mean... Eve, this isn't working..."
She lent me her shoulder to cry on because I was likely an atomic bomb which just exploded a minute ago. I can't stand over a fact that Toby's past memory came back and ruined everything and yeah, you know I haven't met my boyfriend yet ever since we were together. I need to wait for some other months to finally meet him, and that Ally girl could just steal Toby because she's literally living five feet away. I'm done.
"Hey," Eve shook my hand. I spaced out too much today. We're in my room together for hours but barely talked.
"Hmm,"
"Toby's calling."
"Thanks."
"Answer him, Loaine. You don't want to lose him after all, do you?"
"I don't feel like talking."
"He can't wait forever. He's been calling you 20 times per minute. He's worried."
"I can wait forever. I once did."
"Lei... I know... I understand it all. I'm your best friend, remember? I was the one who set this up for both of you together with the band members, remember? That's why I know you. You and your denial. This is all in your hands. I'm just saying that the Loaine I know, she would never treat Toby to anything or anyone. She'd be there and answer for Toby's call at the first ringing. Where did she go?"
"She's gone..." I mumbled. I know. You hate me. I hate myself too.
"I can't push you. But one thing, Loaine. One thing. When you decide to end it, that must be the only thing you really want, the option you'd never regret. Because after all, you have some rights to live your life. But remember, so does Toby. He maybe or maybe not come back to you. That's a gamble. Choose the right one."
That's like a slap in the cheeks for me. Those words. That was hurt.
"Okay you can be mad at him. Whatever. Because me too. But at least, talk. Say something."
"Okay."
"Stubborn lady. I'll meet you later. I'll leave you with him." Eve threw my phone and ran downstairs. I didn't hear like she opened the door so must be still here, waiting down there.
I glanced over my phone screen. Toby's calling. Again.
"Yeah." How nice, Loaine. How nice.
"Hey baby, where you going? I'm dying right here try to reach you!" The feel was genuine.
"I'm tired."
"Uh...am I bothering you?"
"Ally."
".........what?"
"Tell me something about Ally."
"What...are you...what???"
"How dare you, Toby!" I cried it all out. "This is hard already!"
"She's just an old friend! Swear to God with all my heart baby she's nothing to me anymore!"
"An old friend who just came back and brought me some terror, yeah?"
"What???"
"I know it's not your fault. I don't know how much you know about this. But I never ask for drama, Toby. Done. I'm so done."
"Okay Lei please, let me explain. Or explain me something because I'm dead worried about you."
"Please...can you call me later? I'm so tired..." I was panting so hard.
"I...love you...please...she can ruin nothing. You know that. You have to trust me."
"I do. I just need a sleep. May I?"
"S...sure...don't leave me baby..."
"I'll...t..." I took a deep breath. "Talk to you later."
Then I hung up the phone. God, save us. Tell me that this was all lie.
