LOAINE'S P.O.V

"Honey, are you there?" Mom knocked my door right before I was about to shower. I just came home from school and yes I need to shower.

"Yes Mom, you need something?"

"Nope, but look, I received it today."

"Well, what is it?"

"A flower bouquet, darling. Can't you see?" Mom chuckled.

"No Mom, but I mean, what is this?"

"I have no clue. Go check it by yourself."

She handed me the bouquet and already made her way downstairs. But before I shut the door with that flower in my hands, I felt something. This must be wrong.

"Mom," I shouted.

"Yes Loaine!"

"Do you think I should give it back?"

"Give it what?" Yeah, Mom spoke to me but she barely lifted her head from those vegetables.

"The bouquet..." I sighed. "I feel like it's not supposed to be given to me. I have nobody to give me flowers, like never. I've tried to guess but it helped none."

"Swetie, listen to me. You may think you know everything about people around you. But actually, you know nothing about them. You probably have an admire." She winked. Oh gosh.

"No it'd be ridiculous. No. I have none."

"You never know..."

"So what should I do?"

"Go read that letter inside the bouquet."

"What letter Mom?" I stopped spinning the spoon on the table. I didn't realize that there's something inside it.

"Look closer Loaine, you'll find it."

"Oh," I mouthed. "Okay."

"Good luck." Mom squeezed me. "Now go get shower!"

"Okay Mom!"

I walked upstairs and locked the door. I was even nervous about the letter.

Dear Loaine,

Good to finally know your name. Good to finally see your face. I'm sorry for being such a coward and left you alone when you really need a hand. I was too stupid. I should have not spilled it to you. Sorry. I hope you're doing fine. I wouldn't forgive myself if I ever made you injured.

Well, thank you for giving me that letter. Really appreciate it. I wish I could stay longer in Manila. I owe you though.

Hope you'll be right there waiting for next year. I try my best to come back. And yeah, I really hope I can meet you in person, appropriately. Can't wait for it.

Love,

Toby.

I...literally dropped the letter on the ground and remained frozen for probably 5 minutes. This couldn't be right. How could he send me a letter way from US? But hey, it warmed my heart by the way, I should admit. He remembered me, just like Eve said. OH, EVELYN.

"Tell me the truth, young lady, I don't compromise." I dragged Eve to the Starbucks so I could ask her about the letter. She must be hiding something from me.

"Ask Toby, not me!" She pouted.

"Ah come on, I know you."

"Well..."

"Eve please you're killing me!"

"Okay gosh okay! Stop yelling!"

"So it was you, uh? You wrote a letter to me?"

"Aw I didn't say that!"

"Tell me!" I tickled her.

"The answer is no, Loaine. That's not me!"

"I need proof."

"This," She faced her face to me and gave me thosr puppy eyes look. "Are you done?"

"I don't believe you."

"Live with that."

"Oh God." I rolled my eyes and sipped my coffee. The rest of our afternoon was fine. Other tham Eve kept talking about her DMs with Thomas, nothing was really happening. Typical Eve.

I walked home from Starbucks with Eve but her house was closer so we split. I need to walk further to the next block.

"Loaine!" The too-loud best friend called me. We haven't split up for 5 minutes though. I haven't even arrived at my house.

"Evelyn!"

"Hah. Hey you need to open your Twitter!"

"Aw nah, you're weird. I have nothing to do in there."

"You must have ones. Go check it!"

"You're hiding something Eve," I kept talking through phone with her when I opened the front door and slowly walked upstairs to my room. "You'd never asked me to do that before."

"But I am now. Come on, trust me!"

"Never in a million years."

"You'll regret this."

"Oh, should I?"

"Whatever. I've tried to warn you."

"Hey...this is creepy. What are you talking about."

"You'll thank me for this all. I guarantee that."

Then...she hung up the phone. I tried to shake it off but...hey, there's a laptop in front of me. Dang. I can't help it.
