~Flashback 3rd POV~
"You don't get special privileges, Mr. Charming, if you failed this test then that's final." Mr. Monroe, the freshman math teacher, said to Chad.
"But I know this stuff, I swear I do, I'm good at Algebra, I've always had an A in here," Chad stated, pleading his case to the teacher. The teacher had given him a 40/103 on the last quiz, making his grade drop from an A to a C+. When Chad checked his quiz, all the work was done right.
"Mr. Charming, if you are insinuating that I, as an educator, have made an attempt at ruining your grade, then I ask you to leave my room right now because that is highly disrespectful!" Mr. Monroe said coldly to Chad.
Chad's hands were shaking from the all too familiar situation he was in, Mr. Monroe had only been there for two years and people still didn't take him as serious as they did other older teachers. Mr. Monroe had seen other teachers give Chad a hard time without anyone batting an eye, so as a way to get more respect he decided that he would show other students he didn't play around by 'tampering' with his grade a bit.
"No! I jus-"
"If you really do believe that then Mr. Charming feel free to go to the King about it, but I promise you that this is a fight you will not win," He stated, cutting off Chad before he could finish what he was saying. After a moment of silence, Chad finally spoke up.
"Thank you for your time, Mr. Monroe," He said quickly before speed walking out of the room and into the open hallway. It was closer to 6 o'clock so everyone was either in their rooms or finding dinner somewhere. Chad continued to run to his room before he let everything come out. This whole situation wasn't new to Chad, obviously, but it still hurts him.
Chad couldn't make it all the way to the room, he stopped at a random set of lockers and started to cry. His emotion wasn't anger this time like they usually are, they were sadness. Soon the sadness turned into frustration and he decided to take his anger out on the nearest thing he could, the lockers. Over and over he punched the locker, his hand getting more numb with each hit.
It was as if he didn't hear anything or feel anything other than what was going on in his own mind. But everything changed when he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was like he snapped out of a nightmare, unsure if he was awake or still in it. He looked over and seen Doug there with a nervous look on his face.
"Doug?" Chad said aloud, making sure he was seeing right.
"A-are you okay?" He asked and that was all it took to get Chad going again. He leaned against the lockers and slid down, shaking his head softly until he hit the floor. He let the tears fall down his cheeks as he silently cried. "What's wrong?"
"Why do you care?" He shot at him instantly, not used to this type of conversation with him.
"I...I don't know," He responded, giving him an honest answer. Doug slid down the lockers next to him and they both sat there in silence for a good 5 minutes until Chad decided to be the one to break the silence.
"Uhm, a teacher marked my grade down," He said slowly and quietly and Doug chuckled in response.
"That's it? That's what this was all about? Man, and I thought I was serious about my grades!" He laughed out and Chad got angry fast.
"No! That's not what all of this is about! You know what, you won't even get it, no one will! No one else gets to be the son of Prince Charming and Cinderella. No one else has to put up with always being the perfect one, or so others think." Chad was starting to get louder and louder with every word he said.
