Laurie watched carefully out the window as the heartbeat continued to progress. Her eyes were peeled as she scanned the arena, Haddonfield.
She carefully touched her back pocket, her shard of glass was still there.
There was a loud screech, almost like the sound of a screaming woman but much sharper.
Nurse.
Laurie took a deep breath and climbed through the window. She peered over the edge of the balcony.
The Nurse walked past her, unaware of the blonde above her. She held up her hand, 2 yellow orbs danced in the palm of her hand. With a whoosh and a trail of ash, the Nurse blinked away.
Laurie didn't realize she was holding her breath so she let a sigh slip through her lips.
Suddenly, Laurie felt a hand on her shoulder. She yelped and shifted her feet which went over the edge. She gasped as she fell, her hands trying to grip on anything. She grabbed the edge of the balcony. Her legs swaying with the breeze, making it harder for her to stay on. Her finger tips began to slip, gravity threatening to push her down.
She knew it wouldn't hurt if she fell but she didn't want to risk being seen by the Nurse. Her other hand tried to reach the edge but couldn't.
"H-help..." she croaked.
A familiar hand then grabbed her wrist and pulled her up.
Laurie groaned as the person pulled her up and she sat down on the edge.
It was Quentin that helped her. She breathed a sigh and said, "Don't ever do that again.""Sorry..." He looked down.
"It's alright... have you found a gen?" She brushed a lock of hair out of her face and looked at Quentin.
"Um... yeah." He quickly looked away blushing and climbed through the window "this way."
Aww, is he blushing? Laurie thought as she smiled and followed Quentin.
There was a generator downstairs with only two spots. Both quickly repaired it.
When they were half way done with it, Quentin cleared his throat but didnt take his eyes off his work.
"So... you grew up here?" He asked.
"What? Oh. Yes, I grew up to a place similar."
"Similar?" He was now looking at her.
"Well, yeah. You know this isn't really Haddonfield. Only the Entity's version. This place doesn't seem right to me." Laurie rolled her eyes at the obvious question.
"Same here, Springwood doesn't seem right to me either." Quentin said with slight embarrassment.
Laurie gave a small chuckle.
They finished the gen right after a survivor had been hooked. Laurie had to think fast when she saw Quentin look in the direction of the hooked survivor.
"No! Stay with me, Meg will go get her. We need to do generators." Laurie grabbed his arm to keep him from going.
Quentin looked at her in disbelief. Laurie after all had a big reputation of not leaving her friends behind. So why was she risking the death of another survivor?
A small smirk came across Quentin's face. "Are you keeping me from leaving you?"
Laurie felt blush spread like a wildfire. "N-no! I just want us to escape!"
"Together?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah! I mean... Stop messing with me!" Laurie shoved his arm away and pouted like a small child.
