"Elise!" You called out the child's name, praying for her to answer back. No response. You continued to walk through the forest and stopped when you noticed your hands were shaking. The thought of you facing wolves and most likely dying alone scared the life out of you. Were you truly ready to face death, even when it had already claimed your sister? You closed your eyes to calm yourself, sweat pouring down your cheek.

It's alright. Everything is......going to be fine.

"Y/N?" A voice randomly ran through your thoughts and your heart leaped out of your chest. It was Palutena speaking via the laurel crown, and her sudden appearance scared the life out of you.

"It's getting late. Are you ready to come back?" She asked.

"N-No, I just have to finish one m-more thing...." You attempted to once again calm yourself, but it was impossible this time round. "......Palutena, a child went missing and I have to save her."

"In the forest? Y/N it's too dangerous. I'm bringing you back up."

A loud scream pierced through the forest, stopping the conversation. The scream was that of a child. It was the little girl, you just knew it.

"That was her!" You yelled, running in the direction of the voice.

"Y/N wait!" You took off the laurel crown and threw it in the grass, just in case Palutena wanted to bring you back against your will. You had to save the girl, no matter the cost.

~

You made your way through the trees, your shirt getting caught on thick branches. As you moved through more wooded area, thorns tore into your shirt, nicking some skin as well. You found a huge opening in the forest and spotted 2 grey wolves circling an oak tree. Moving closer, you noticed a small girl near the top of the tree, screaming for dear life. It was Elise. You suppressed your instinct to hightail out of there and instead got the wolves' attentions.

"Hey! Over here!" You yelled. The 2 wolves turned to you, a long trail of saliva running from their mouths. Are they rabid? Or just hungry? You took a step forward and cautiously waved your knife in front of you. The wolves moved away from the girl and towards their new target. Your breathing was ragged, and your knees knocked, but you firmly stood your ground. They now circled you, waiting for the perfect time to attack.

"I don't have all day!" You yelled. "Are you gonna attack me or what?"

As if the wolves understood what you were saying, one of them lunged at your arm and you swiped the knife ahead, cutting a bit of the first wolf's nose. It howled out its anger. The second wolf, however, jumped quickly on your back, its claws digging deep into your skin. The sheer force of the second wolf was enough to knock you down and force your knife out of your hands, much to your dismay. You screamed in pain as one wolf bit into your leg and as the other attempted to bite into your arm. Your adrenaline flew through the roof as you tried to reach for your knife with your right hand. The fingernails of left hand dug deep into the ground to prevent the wolves from pulling you any farther away from your target.

The knife! I need the knife!!!

As the 2 animals continued their assault, your vision became blurry and all hope seemed lost. No matter how hard you tired, you just couldn't reach the knife.

Ugh......

Suddenly, in a swift motion, an arrow went through one wolf's torso, causing it to immediately go limp. The other wolf also released its grip on you and fell forward, landing slightly on your leg. You noticed that this wolf had an arrow through its head. Confusion flooded your mind as pain flooded your senses. Looking at the moon lit sky, you saw a figure that you couldn't quite make out, mainly due to your vision becoming blurrier. You closed your eyes as a wave of relief washed over you, gaining some much need rest.
