Chapter 11

"You're sweating and shaking. You totally are cheating. " Lance accused taking another step closer.

I bit my lip to keep a mewl from escaping. Sweat beaded my brow as Lance's scent seduced me. My knees and hands were shaking. Every fiber of my being was crying out to him. Begging to mingle our scents together. Begging me to give in and mate with him.

Fuck. This isn't good.

I was able to tear my eyes away from him long enough to shoot Shiro a pleading look.

"Alright it's been a long day. We should head to bed." Shiro spoke up stepping between us.

Pidge groaned, but shut down the game. Hunk was already heading to his room.

"Fine, but I'm onto you Mullet." Lance glared at me before leaving the lounge.

Once he was gone I release the breath I had been holding and dropped to my knees.

"You okay Keith?" Shiro asked.

"F-fine." I panted. As I breathed it out Shiro remained quietly by my side not sure what to say or how to help.

"Want some chocolate milk?" He asked.

"What?" I picked my head up to see him smiling down at me.

Shiro brought me to the kitchen and poured two metallic cups of white milk fresh from the cow that lived in the castle.

He then grabbed a brown bottle and poured the liquid into the milk, stirring it with a spoon.

He handed me a cup and raised the other to his lips. I hesitantly took a sip.

Oh my- this is really good.

"Feel better?" Shiro asked eyeing me over the brim of his cup.

"Yeah, thanks." I inclined my chin.

"So you like Lance. It's not just your heat is it?" Shiro asked so suddenly I nearly choked.

"W-what? N-no way. He's arrogant, obnoxious, and a flirt. He's so thick headed and sometimes I just want to take his big dumb, dummy head and-" I huffed in aggravation.

Shiro chuckled.

"Sounds to me like you do like him." He smirked.

Heat spread across my cheeks as I looked away and shrugged.

"Keith it's okay. I won't tell anyone. However we need to do something about your heat. We don't want you going full Galra because of your need to mate." Shiro raised a point.

"I never had heat before. The need never arose because I was always surrounded by other Galra. I just have to suck it up and control it." I sighed.

"Well Coran was saying he needed some crystal things in order for us to wormhole. Hunk and I were going to go, but maybe you should instead.

By the time you get back your heat should have passed and you should be fine to be around Lance." Shiro smiled.

I agreed and decided that would be best.

Besides Lance doesn't like me the way I like him. It's probably best if we go our separate ways.

LANCE

I lie on my bed staring at the glow in the dark star stickers I stuck to the ceiling with that white tacky putty that comes in the box.

A hefty sigh left my lips as I rolled onto my side. Changing the view, I stared at my open palm for a long while.

I smelled wild flowers again. This time was even stronger than the last.

I wasn't sure why I smelled the flowers whenever Keith was near. I didn't think it was some kind of cologne he liked to wear.

No, it was natural. It was all him.

Before I could delve deeper into those thoughts a thud outside of my door caused me to jolt upright.

Shoving my feet into my blue lion slippers and tossing on my robe I poked my head into the hall.

I spotted Keith staggering to his room. He was holding his head and panting.

Keith?

Worry filled my stomach as I watched him stumble into his room. I remained still as his door closed. After waiting several heartbeats I released the breath I hadn't realised I was holding.

Wild flowers.

Making up my mind I crossed the hall to his door and swiftly knocked.

There was a strangled sound from the other side of the door.

Something must be wrong.

"Keith? You okay? I'm coming in." I exclaimed hurrying inside and the sight I was met with will forever be branded into my mind.
