"Of course!" Elle exclaimed. "Right Lana?"
"Uh sure," I said. I wasn't really paying attention much. I kept thinking about Dean's behavior and the fact that he stormed off. That wasn't like him. I thought we were best friends, why wouldn't he stop to say hi?
"Ok great," Mason said. "Do you guys want a ride?"
"Sure," Elle said and I agreed.
"Ok, I'm going to go home and change and then meet you guys at Lana's in an hour. Sound good?" He asked. We both nodded. "Ok, bye!"
We walked off to our cars and agreed to meet at my house before Mason arrived. I quickly walked over to my car and got in, pulling out to get home quickly. I still needed to put on some actual makeup and change my clothes.
When I got home, I quickly went up to my room and walked straight over to my closet. I walked inside, looking for a cute outfit when I saw my light blue off-the-shoulder romper. That looked comfy but cute, so I decided to go with that. I quickly put it on before going to the bathroom to put makeup on.
I was done with 5 minutes to spare so I decided to go downstairs and get some water. I grabbed my keys and put them in my pocket before sliding on some sandals. I left my room and went downstairs to grab a glass of water. As I was finishing, the doorbell rang. I put the glass down in the sink and walked through the hallway to see who was at the door.
I opened the door and they smiled.
"Are you ready?" Mason asked. "Elle's already in the car, I saw her in the driveway."
"Oh, yeah I'm ready," I said. Mason stepped out of my doorway and I walked through, closing the door behind me.
We walked down the stairs and over to Mason's car, getting in. He quickly pulled out of the driveway and down the street to the darty.
The party was at a kid named Michael's house and the house was in my neighborhood so the drive was quick. Mason pulled into the long driveway and parked the car. We all got out and walked up the front steps and into the house.
Inside, the house was relatively empty, but the kitchen had the alcohol so we went there first and got some drinks before heading outside.
The backyard was filled with people and music was blasting. It's a good thing his house is set back farther in the road otherwise the cops would definitely be coming. I looked around and spotted Dean... with Emma. They were all over each other and that alone made me chug my drink. I quickly went back in and chugged another drink before bringing a cup out with me.
We walked down the steps to the backyard and over to where Dean and Emma were. When they noticed us, they broke apart but Dean kept his arm around Emma.
"Yo dude, come here," Mason said, motioning for Dean to walk away with him. Dean nodded and the two left, leaving me here with Elle and Emma.
I didn't want to interact with her but it didn't really seem like I had a choice. Elle and Emma got into an interesting discussion about some TV show, so I decided to slowly exit the conversation and walk away. I chugged my drink and decided to go get another so I walked up the steps and into the kitchen.
I poured myself another drink and stood there for a few minutes when I heard voices coming from the next room. I slowly and quietly left the kitchen and walked down the hall, standing outside of the living room. I could hear parts of their conversation.
"Dude, if you like her, then why aren't you here with her?" One guy asked.
"It's not that easy. She's not into me," the other guy said.
"Dude, you're so blind. She reacts whenever you two are together. It makes her visibly upset," the first guy said again.
"I just.. I can't. I can't do this. I can't ruin everything," the second guy said.
I got really curious to know who was in there talking, so I turned the corner and walked into the living room, coming face to face with Dean and Mason. When they looked over and saw me, they froze.
"What are you guys doing?" I asked, taking a sip of my drink.
"Nothing," Dean said, trying to storm out of the room before Elle and Emma walked in.
"So, does anyone want to dance?" I asked, definitely starting to feel the alcohol.
"Dean, let's go dance," Emma said, extending her arm to take his before they walked out.
I felt hurt but tried not to show it. So, I walked over and grabbed Mason's hand before pulling him out of the room with me.
"We're going to dance," I said as we made our way through the house and out the back door. Mason chuckled.
"You're feisty when you're mad," he said.
"I am not mad," I said. "I just want to have some fun."
We walked down the stairs to where everyone else was dancing and we started dancing. It quickly escalated into us being close together until we started making out.
We were making out for a while when suddenly, Mason was being pulled off of me. I looked over at who did that and I froze.
"What the fuck?!"
