“But we can!” I objected. “We got your lion,” I gestured to Hunk, “and your lion,” I gestured to Lance, “and Pidge's lion! We haven't even tried to get the Red Lion yet, and you guys are just going to give up, just because your scared? Look, I know that I don't have a lion, but if this was my lion, I would go after it, and you would too, especially when it's this close!”
“And we can't just abandon Arus,” Pidge added. “The Galra will keep destroying planets and capturing prisoners until we stop them.”
“Okay. If we run, then maybe Sendak will follow us and leave this planet alone, like when we left Earth,” Hunk suggested.
“Sendak could destroy the planet then come after us anyway,” Keith said. “Staying is our only option.”
“Here's an option: shut your quiznak,” Lance barked at Keith.
“I don’t think you're using that word correctly,” Keith snapped.
“What do you know, Mullet?” Lance yelled back.
“We're staying,” Keith said.
“Leaving!” Lance yelled.
“Staying!” Pidge screamed.
“Leaving!” Hunk whined.
“Ladies, ladies,” I said, stepping in the middle of the huge argument, “can we have this argument later? Maybe a time when we aren't about to die?!”
Pidge, Hunk, Lance, and Keith moved away from each other, crossing their arms. The glares from one teammate to another were intense.
“Princess Allura, these are your lions. You've dealt with the Galra Empire before. You know what we're facing better than any of us. What do you think is the best course of action?” Shiro asked.
“I...I don't know.”
She looked at the floor, obviously not wanting to upset us with any decision she made.
“Perhaps your father can help,” Coran offered.
The Princess’s eyes widened as she looked at her dear friend.
“My father?”
Coran led her down a hallway, leaving us all alone. Yet, within five seconds, she was back, and in a new outfit. This one was more fit for fighting, actually having pants. It was more like armor than anything, but it still consisted of the same colors as her gown. She seemed to be strengthened with courage, and determination was written across her face.
“You six paladin's were brought here for a reason,” she said.
“Six?” I asked. “But, I'm not-”
“You may not be a pilot of any lion, but you will help us fight against the Galra. That is what you wanted, right?” The princess smirked.
A huge grin spread across my face, as Lance placed a hand on my shoulder. I looked at him, and I could tell that he knew how happy I was. I was ecstatic! I had wanted a lion, but what I had wanted most was to destroy Zarkon and the Galra, for everything they had done to me and my friends!
“The Voltron Lions,” Allura continued, “are meant to be piloted by you, and you alone. We must fight, and keep fighting until we defeat Zarkon. It is our destiny. Voltron is the universe's only hope. We, are the universe's only hope.”
“We're with you, Princess,” Shiro said.
Allura and Coran lead us into a new room, with five pods, containing what looked like paladin suits that matched each lion.
