The dragons all exited the rift, only to find themselves outside of Warfang. Spyro, Cynder and Sparx sighed in relief.
"What realm could this be? Seems pretty normal to me." Gear said.
"This is the Dragon Realm. No flying platforms or deadly vines here. Thankfully..." replied Sparx.
"Now that we're back, I'll show you around. If you'd like, of course." said Cynder.
"Gladly." Gear responded. Cynder flew off towards Warfang, and everyone followed her. She led them to the Dragon Temple, and there stood Cyril at the entrance.
"Spyro, Cynder. It's lovely to have you back. I see you've brought some new friends..."
"Yes, we have. What happened while we were gone?" she asked. Cyril went silent for a moment.
"If you must know, Comet has been... been..."
"Don't bother yourself trying to say it, Cyril. Ignitus told Cynder and I." said Spyro.
"Good. We have an important matter to discuss. Come back here when you're ready." he replied.
"Will do."

The group all sat by Spyro's little cave, overlooking a field of sheep and flowers. They all seemed at home in Warfang.
"This caves a good size for a dragon and a dragonfly, don't you think?" asked Gear, talking to Skystrike.
"Indeed it is. And a nice view aswell!"
"Trust me, my living situation could be much better." said Spyro.
"It's better than what Gear used to have..."
"Please don't remind me of that..." Skystrike shrugged.
"Hey, Ruby. When did you learn to speak Greek? I thought you were an Earth dragoness." Cynder asked.
"Well, I thought so. But I was told before I jumped through the rift, by that voice, I came from there, and that I was born with the ability to do it."
"Wow, people hide a lot of things from you, don't they?" Spyro said.
"Ομοίως με το πώς κρύβω τα πράγματα από εσάς..."
(Similarly to how I hide things from you...")
(Ruby says this to confuse Spyro. There is no meaning to what she said. Ruby has nothing to hide.)
"I'm going to pretend I know what you're saying and say... thanks..." Ruby just laughed.
"We should get to the Temple. Cyril is waiting." Skystrike said. They all nodded and made their way back. There, around the Pool of Visions, the guardians were stood.
"Now that Spyro, Cynder and their new friends are back, we need to discuss a plan for defence." said Terrador.
"Defence? What do you mean?" Gear asked.
"We were informed by Thanatos himself that in a days time from now, he will launch a devastating attack."
"As far as I'm aware, he doesn't know you are here. This could throw him off slightly." Volteer stated.
"Maybe, but this is a nearly unstoppable force we are talking about. He will not hesitate to kill us all." Ruby replied.
"On top of that, Erebus is still alive, in the Psychic Realm. Who knows what healing capabilities he has..." Spyro was cut off by Terrador.
"Erebus? Who is that?"
"The son of Thanatos. He also has a sister called Nyx."
"The situation is worse than we thought..." Volteer responded with anxiousness.
"Nyx isn't a problem. Not after what Cynder did to her..." They all stared at her. She kept a straight face.
"Cynder. What happened?" Cyril asked.
"Are you sure you want to know?" she replied. The guardians looked at each other, then back to Cynder.
"I can only assume that means... she is dead." Cynder nodded. "Well, it seems you can be terrifying at times. No wonder Sparx is scared of you..." Volteer said.
"Yeah... hehehe... please don't hurt me." he said rapidly. Spyro tried not to laugh.
"Well, what should we do?" Gear asked.
"Whatever you need for now. When he is spotted, we will alert you immediately." Terrador said.
"Got it. Let's go!" said Spyro.

Spyro sat down by a waterfall, overlooking the city. The sun was shining bright, glimmering in the water and reflecting off of it. The wind blew gently and the sky was of a bright blue colour. This was the calm before the storm. Cynder walked over to him, and sat down next to him.
"So, this is it. The last time we'll be able to see Warfang like this again..." she said.
"Don't doubt things, Cynder. You don't know what could happen."
"I know. I just have the feeling it'll be that way. I always do."
"Well, look at all of the dragons we have. We all have unique abilities. We can fight for ourselves, and now we fight for Warfang, and everyone in it." They looked behind them, where the others were standing, smiling.
"You're right. We can do this."
"Has Spyro always been this inspirational?" Sky asked.
"Yes, and a little too much." Sparx replied.
"They look so cute together. Don't they?" Wave said.
"Yeah, they do. I just wish I was in her position..." Ruby didn't realise what she just said. Wave was looking at her, and this reminded her of what she said. "I mean, who wouldn't?" She added.
"That's better..."
"I just hope this attack goes how I want it to..." Cynder said.
"Me too. And, before this all happens, there's something I've been meaning to do for a while..." The others dragons seemed eager to see what he was going to do. Sparx seemed more confused.
"What's that?"
"Well, close your eyes." Cynder shut them. Wave knew he was building up to something. "Now... tell me how this feels..." Spyro leaned forwards and gave her a light kiss on her lips. Everyone looked at this and were astonished Spyro decided to do this now.
"Aaaw..." they all said in sync. Spyro looked at them, raising his eyelids. He turned back to Cynder, who was staring into his eyes.
"I was hoping you'd do that."
"Well, it had to happen. Especially after what you said before I..."
"Nearly sacrificed yourself?"
"Yes. I'll never forget what you said to me back there."
"Neither will I." They both looked back out to the distance, with Cynder resting her head on Spyro's shoulder. They knew the attack could be devastating. There was no escaping it, but they were willing to fight on.
The sun began to set, and everyone left the two by the waterfall. They seemed happy to be there with each other.

"Now I can see why you'd want to be in her position." Wave said to Ruby.
"Again, who wouldn't?" They both laughed and found a place to rest.
"Gear... what if we don't make it?" Sky asked.
"Then we've put up one hell of a fight. Especially Ruby and Cynder." he responded.
"Yeah. Those two can be scary sometimes."
"Not as scary as getting your neck slit open..."
"Still holding a grudge?"
"You nearly killed me, Sky. Remember that."
"I saved you. Remember that." Gear laughed.
"Don't worry. I don't blame you still. I don't hold grudges. Not often at least..."
"Let's keep it that way."
"Agreed." They lied down and Sky stared into the sky.
"If I do not return, Mother... just know I will always remember you..." And with that's he fell asleep.

Thanatos watched from afar, and smiled evilly.
"Sir, when shall we begin the raid?" asked a servant from the door.
"Tomorrow at 0 800 hours." The servant left and from the corridor Thanatos heard him say "You're alive?" From the door walked in Erebus, still physically shattered and beaten.
"Erebus? What happened to you!?" he asked in shock.
"The dragoness was relentless. She crushed me with rocks five times my size..."
"What about Nyx?"
"She was killed by Cynder... a shard was sent through her heart..."
"Grrr, bring me the book." Thanatos had a spell book of his own, with more twisted spells within it. Erebus handed it to him. "Ισχυροί θεοί, φέρτε το τόσο κακό και κακό πίσω στην αιτία μου"
(Mighty gods, bring the one so vile and evil back to my cause)
A crimson red symbol appeared on the ground, filled with satanic symbols. It rose up and there stood Nyx, with fury and anger in her eyes.
"Bring me to them... I'll make them pay for what they did to me and my brother..."

Author's note: Yes, Thanatos has his own necromantic spell book. Unlucky for the heroes...
