When we left (Sequel to Before we go)

After their performance was done, I wanted to get outside as quickly as possible. With the house as packed as it was It would take me some time to get out if I didn't. Just as I got out the door a rush a people began to leave. I had a feeling that Nick would come out anyways afterward. 

As people were leaving, I just waited outside hoping that he would come out. Finally, the last couple of people left and I just stood there. What made me think he would come out was beyond me. He had his own life now and we haven't seen each other since that night. I turned and started walking down the street. I didn't get too far when I heard, 

"Brooke?"

I stopped in my tracks, took a deep breath and turned around

"Hi Nick," I said with a smile. He looked just like I remembered. 

He came straight up to me. We kept our eye contact and then we both embraced for a hug. It felt so good to be back in his warmth of a hug. 

"I can't believe it's you! When did you get in?" 

"This afternoon actually. I tried calling you before I decided to come but they said you were away on tour. So I am guessing your audition went well"

"It went more than okay.  The best part of it is I did it for myself and I proved to myself that I could do it.  I am sorry I wasn't there when you called" 

I just smiled, "It's okay you made your dream come true and that is all I wanted for you" 

We continued to stand and look at each other for what seemed like ages. Soon Nick smiled. 

" I was surprised to see you here what are you..."

I cut him off while grabbing the piece of paper from my coat. "I made the choice and I jumped"

Nick went quiet and his eyes went big. 

" I ended up leaving my husband after he became a douche."

In that moment, we were right back where we were that night we met.
