Chapter 13: Of Course

"Y/N..." Palutena whispered, dropping to her knees and hugging you even tighter.

"Goodnight!" She said while rubbing her face against yours. Her long, green hair tickled the side of your face and you couldn't help but laugh. After a few moments, the two of you eventually moved apart. You walked to Pit and smiled, standing directly in front of him.

"Night Pit!" You said, tackle hugging him and wrapping your arms around his waist.

"Night Y/N!" Pit said, hugging you as tight as possible. He lifted you off the ground and spun you around; a smile never leaving your face. Palutena's eyes sparkled as she watched the two of you. She pulled out a small camera and quickly snapped a picture. You noticed the flash and turned to her.

"I saw that." You said, giving Palutena a disapproving look. Pit slowed to a stop, oblivious to what just happened.

"You'll laugh about this someday." Palutena said as she waved the freshly taken photo around.

"Fair enough." You said. Pit set you down and you took a step back, giving a final shy wave and returning to the safety of your room. Once the door was shut and locked, you sat in the middle of your bed, deep in thought. You eventually pulled out a pencil and paper and began to write.

"Did you see that Pit!" Palutena exclaimed, spinning around a little as she walked down the hallway. She slowed to a stop, wiping a stray tear that fell down her cheek. "Y/N hugged me...She actually hugged me! I think she's finally accepted me Pit! She's made so much progress since Day 1!"

"That's awesome Lady Palutena! And Y/N really has changed! She seems so much more open!" Pit said. The two both stopped in front of Palutena's door.

"Well I'm heading to bed. Goodnight Lady Pal-"

"Before you go Pit, we need to talk. Now." Palutena said, pushing Pit into her room. She sat down in one of her many white chairs, motioning Pit to sit next to her.

"What's wrong Lady Palutena?" Pit asked, sitting in a seat next to her. Palutena turned to Pit, a large grin on her face.

"Pit~ I know you like Y/N~" Palutena sang. Pit's eyes widened as he turned a dark shade of red.

"It's that o-obvious, isn't it?" Pit said as he sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. Palutena chuckled.

"Of course it is. You always so cheerful around her. Plus, I hear you talking to yourself on occasion. So Pit..." Palutena placed both hands on Pit's shoulders and looked him directly in the eyes. Pit sat up straight, a bit worried of what will happen next.

"Let me be your wingman!!" Palutena said, her eyes sparkling.

"W-Wha?"

"I don't know exactly what the term means, however it seems right for the situation!" Palutena explained, her eyes sparkling even more.

"That sounds awesome Lady Palutena but...you being a wingman doesn't make any sense. Technically I'm the one with wings, right?" Pit asked.

"Well yes but actually no. You can't be the wingman in this situation Pit. I know that much." Palutena explained.

"Fair enough. W-WAIT!" Pit said while abruptly standing up. "You can't be my wingman Lady Palutena!!! I don't plan on expressing my feelings towards Y/N anytime soon......well more like ever."

"Why not?" Palutena said, standing up as well. She placed her hands on her hips. "Pit, are you shy?"

"No! It isn't that...It's just...I...Um...I just don't know if Y/N likes me, you know? And...other things." Pit said, his wings drooping.
