A few weeks later...

3 weeks. 3 weeks of us following Ben's plan and it was driving me insane. I couldn't do anything with Zach without thinking Luke will see.

I had been playing that I'm-your-friend role with Luke to see if he would drop any hints on anything but nothing. He rarely talked about his gang which meant no clues to help Ben's brother.

Luckily, Ben's brother has been keeping in touch with us. A few days ago when he called, he mentioned that everyone was acting the same way with him which meant that Luke had no clue about our plans that are going behind his back.

"Why don't you just come over? We just need to add our final touches and read it one more time to make sure everything is okay." Luke tried convincing me to come over at his house.

Although, I contemplated going because maybe I could find something in his house, I couldn't. Zach and I had plans once again to go to the tree house again. All the memories from months ago flooded into my mind.

I looked up as soon as Zach and I made a sudden stop under the certain tree he had pointed at.

It was a tree house.

"It's a tree house?" I said which it came out sounding like a question.

"But it's not just any tree house, Bella. It's so special."

"What's so special about it?" I asked him.

"Let's climb up and I'll tell you." he says.

"Hell to the no. I'm not going up there. It's so high and I'm just not climbing that tree."

"Why? I'll be down here in case you fall." He chuckled, "Just grab the branches on the side. You won't fall, trust me."

I roll my eyes playfully and just gave up. It's just a god damn tree house. A really really high one. Great.

We wanted to spend the night away from everyone and just the town in general. If we were far away, we could be together without Luke knowing.

"I can't. I have family plans."

"Again? Bella, you've been saying that these past weeks. And plus, it's the last day we have to finish our project because it's due tomorrow." He sighed.

"I know. I'll just finish it on my own." I replied shrugging.

He really wasn't much help anyway. So what was the difference of me doing the project all alone?

"Aren't you and your parents on not speaking terms?" He kept insisting with questions.

Yes, Luke and I had gotten that much closer that he even would talk about such personal think that I didn't even mind. Little did he know, it was all a plan to keep him close.

"What I meant with family was my brother. I have plans with him." I lied.

"Alex likes me, he'll understand that we have things to do–"

"No, Luke. I already told you that I had plans. I'll finish it on my own." I said making him nod, finally giving up.

"How's everything with Zach? He's done a pretty good job at avoiding you."

"I've tried to get him to talk to me but he doesn't." I mumble.

"Told you its best to just move on. Remaining attach to him will only complicate your life even more."
