Y/N P.O.V

All five of us ended up laying in a circle on the blanket, our heads pointed towards the inner part of the circle.
We all began to talk about random things like our hopes and dreams while staring at the stars and now the moon that had risen up into the sky.
We didn't even notice how much time had passed. We all felt so comfortable in each others presence, heck even Aaron and Alexander were getting along. We laughed and told stories, and I quickly forgot about all those thoughts I had earlier, about them leaving, and about what happened before. And once again I thought about how happy and semi lucky I was to be a part of their ragtag family.

"Hey guys, isn't it getting kinda late?" I ask, interrupting the small bit of silence we've had within the past few hours or so.

"Oh dang, it is, isn't it?" I hear Alex mutter. The guys let out a sigh as they all slowly begin to sit up, I follow suit. We all slowly get up on our feet and begin cleaning up our mini picnic.

"See, aren't you all glad I found this place?" I ask turning to look at Laf, Herc, and John.
"Yah!"
"Yes!"
"Oui!"

Once we gather everything up we begin our journey back to the house.

The walk seemed to go by slower than before and despite being in the presence of the five men I couldn't help but feel anxious. We'd stayed out a longer than I had thought and the darkness was a bit unsettling. I stayed close to the group, walking at Herc and Alexander's sides. As we continued walking I reached down and grabbed their hands to provide myself with a bit more comfort. Alex and Herc both returned the gesture as I felt their warm hands wrap around mine. I let out a sigh of relief and immediately felt safer.

Once I felt safer the walk seemed to speed up and we made it to the house. The house belonged to Hercules and the rest of the guys had been staying there. Despite my complaints Burr had given up his bed in the room he'd been sharing with John and Alex so that I wouldn't have to sleep on the couch. Personally I wouldn't mind but there was no arguing with Aaron. He was almost as stubborn as Alexander in that sort of sense. Herc released my hand and opened the door, holding it open for me to walk in. We'd left a few candles lit before we left so entering the house completely destroyed any anxiety I had.

Once we were inside I released Alex's hand and turned to look at the group with a smile.

"Thank you guys..." I muttered, tears starting to form in my eyes again.

"Why are you thanking us?" Lafayette asked, concern filling his voice as his brows furrowed in confusion. To be honest, I wasn't sure why I was thanking them. There was just so much I was grateful for. I missed my real family dearly, but these guys hold a special place in my heart. I've only personally known them about a week, maybe longer, and yet I feel like they've always been there for me.

"For everything, you took me in when others may have turned away or...worse. You've treated me as an equal despite me being a female in this day in age...and you've given me a time I'll never forget. You're there for me when I need it, despite my aloofness to everything around," At this point the tears started streaming down my face, but my smile never left. Herc shut the door once everyone was completely inside. I walked up to them and pulled them all into a hug, continuing to cry.

"Why wouldn't we treat you as an equal? I mean, you're really no different from us," I heard John say as he hugged me back. I felt the rest of the groups arms surround me as they seemed to nod.

A few minutes later I stop crying and detach myself from the group.

"I-It's late..." I stutter, "We should get some rest, I want to head to town tomorrow." The guys all nodded in agreement.

After a few minutes we all go to our rooms, Herc and Laf going to their shared bedroom and John and Alex following me to our shared bedroom. The room wasn't very big but it did fit three beds and a dresser which we all shared. There was one window which we normally left open at night because of the nice breeze. The small candle we'd left lit in the room flickered in front of the window, the flame almost going out because of the wind. Despite this being so different from my room at home, I felt so comfortable here, as if it was where I was meant to be all along....

I brush away the thought and smile and both Alex and John before waiting outside of the room for them to get ready for bed. Once they were dressed we swapped places and I changed into a nightgown. Once I have the nightgown on I open the door and let the guys know they can come in. We each lay down on our beds. It felt like forever before I fell asleep, and I couldn't tell if it was because of John's snoring or my sudden lack of interest to sleep.

But as I started to fall asleep everything began to shift as I entered the realm of dreams.
