Knowing that I already had pent up energy from the sun and the food I'd been eating all day, I straight away blasted a pillar of white energy at the bot, cutting straight through it. Before it even fell, I had started running again. I knelt before the fallen robot and started to absorb its electrical energy. Just because I'd killed it, didn't mean it's system had fully crashed, meaning it was still useful.
I felt the electricity pumping through me quite distinctly, and it urged me to keep running and running. 'I only have half an hour,' I thought as I found another one. 'I have to be quick and find as many as possible.' I engulfed my fist with pure energy and slammed the two-point robot in its chest, sending it flying down the alley way that we were in.
I continued to run, searching and defeating robots one after the other. Each time I'd either absorb their lingering electrical energy, or I'd let the sun sink into my outfit to keep my energy levels up.
When I expelled pure energy, I used different forms of energy to fuel me back up. I couldn't rely on just the one type of energy for long periods of time, otherwise I'd overdo myself. I still couldn't control how much I took in, so I needed to be careful as to how frequently I was absorbing, and also how often I was expelling.
As I continued to run, I checked my watch. 'Crap, I've got ten minutes to go. Gotta hurry.' So I kept running, now joining the rest of the group in the main streets fighting the big three-point bots. I happened to see amongst the other participants many amazing quirks at work - like a guy with what seemed to be engines in his legs; another girl was slinging balls of... acid? Another boy was actually punching a robot head on, but I saw his hands and arms weren't the same as mine. They looked... hardened.
I also happened to see a massive explosion out of the corner of my eye, and it had come from none other than the ash blond asshole from before. 'Of course his quirk involves blowing shit up,' I thought, shaking my head as I continued to hammer down the robots. I looked at my watch again, and it said I only had eight minutes left. 'Come on, Y/N, stop getting distracted.' However, before I could continue fighting, a huge rumble shook the entire city, causing everyone to stop and stare up to the sky.
It was a robot that stood over all of the buildings in the test area. It was beyond huge, and so beyond terrifying. 'That's a zero-point robot. It means nothing.' Even though I thought that, I couldn't figure out why it had to be so big. It seemed as though others had worked out what it was too, and decided to run away and find more robots to gain a few more points.
I stood in an alleyway as it rolled past, knocking some concrete from the buildings as it passed. Once it was gone, I stepped out to watch - alongside other spectators - what it was going to do. It didn't seem to be doing anything so I turned to go. However, I heard a familiar voice cry out in pain.
"Help me, I'm stuck!"
'That's her...' I turned back around, to face the back of the robot, and although I couldn't see, I knew that Uraraka was the one who called for help.
"Uraraka!" I cried out, immediately sprinting towards the robot. 'I've gotta help her,' was my only thought as I drew nearer to the giant mechanical beast. But before I reached it, a sonic boom sounded through my ears, and a ground shockwave caused me to stumble to a halt. 'What the...' I looked up in the sky to see something flying towards the bots face. Wait, no, not something. It was someone...
"Midoriya?"
Before I could contemplate why the scrawny kid was very high up in the air, he punched the robot so hard that another shockwave was sent through the air and ground, knocking my ass to the ground. Midoriya had punched the robot so hard, that it's face had dinted like a crater.
"Whoa..." Midoriya really surprised me.
However, the momentum of the punch had caused the robot to start falling backwards. Onto to me. Not just me, though, I realised quickly, but to the other bystanders I was watching with earlier. 'Oh no,' I scrambled to my feet and started running back towards them. 'They're gonna get crushed! ' I looked up and saw the back of the robot still falling, inching closer and closer to all of us. I was still too far away though. 'Think, Y/N. Think! '
I had no time to think. As much as I would've liked to think it through, the situation required pure instinct. I suddenly felt an impulsive urge - an urgent energy - flow through me. It was so intense, I thought my body was going to explode from the raw power I felt within me. I'd only ever felt this once before... 'The day that I got my quirk.'
So, even though I was still a fair bit away from the small group of people - who seemed to be frozen in fear of the falling robot - I flung out my hand and shot a bright white beam towards them. A small dome of transparent white energy - almost like glass - appeared above them and acted as a barrier against the falling robot.
Just as the robot was about to completely fall on top of us, I'd managed to reach the dome just in time to slide under and brace.
"Everybody, get down!"
The boom that resounded throughout the ground and the air was loud enough and strong enough that it could've probably been heard from the other side of Japan. The aftershock of it all still ran through us all, and none of us dared to move, or even breathe, until we couldn't hear it anymore.
Once I felt the last shake of the ground disappear, I turned to face everyone.
"Are you guys okay? Is anyone hurt?" No one spoke, but a lot of people just nodded their heads in response.
'No one is hurt, thank goodness.' I allowed myself to breathe, and closed my eyes to gather my thoughts. The intense power I felt before started to fade, and with it, my energy to stay awake.
'Damnit, I used energy I didn't have...' I rubbed my eyes, trying to keep myself awake. If I didn't, then the barrier would fall, and then we'd all be crushed. 'Gotta stay awake until we find a way out.' Fortunately, I didn't have to come up with that plan, too, as I suddenly felt a major weight lift off of my shoulders. Literally.
I looked up to see the giant robot being lifted up above us and shoved to the side. I saw Present Mic, and another man, who I recognised immediately despite my tiredness.
"All Might..." I muttered in disbelief, finally dropping my barrier and collapsing to the ground in utter relief and exhaustion. As soon as I hit solid ground, my consciousness faded away, and I was met with darkness and shadows.
