The next day, the first thing I was met with at school was a crying Mina, and an extremely down-hearted Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sato.
"E-Everyone," Mina sniffled out, big, bulging tears brimming at the edge of red-rimmed eyes, "I'm looking forward to hearing *hiccup* all of your stories of how *hiccup* fun *hiccup* camp was..."
My motherly mode kicked in, making me coo at the sight of my distressed classmates. I gripped Mina's shaking shoulders, rubbing my hands over them.
"Aw, Mina..." I sighed. "Don't cry. Crying doesn't look good on you. And stop moping, you three. I know you're all upset that you didn't do so well in your exams, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's over for you. Right, Midoriya?"
"Yeah," my green-haired classmates agreed, albeit unconvincingly. "Maybe they'll end up letting you go. It might be a last minute twist, or something."
"Stop, Midoriya," Sero sighed from behind the short boy, gripping Midoriya's shoulder. "By saying it out loud, you're only jinxing them."
"They said whoever failed the exams would have to skip training camp and live in summer school hell." Kmaianri muttered. "We didn't pas the practical, so we're doomed! Don't you get it, Midoriya, or did All Might knock all the BRAINS OUT OF YOU?!"
I let out a surprised yelpas the electric-head stabbed his two finger into the green eyes of my curly-haired friend, echoing his own cry of pain. Tearing my hands away from Mina, I gripped onto Kaminari's arm, trying to stop his fingers from bursting Midoriya's eyes.
"Ease up Kaminari," Sero said as I saved my friend from committing manslaughter. "I'm not sure I'll get to go either, like you and Mina. Our team only passed thanks to Mineta. I got knocked out, and since we don't know how they'll be scoring, I might've flunked-"
"AT LEAST BRING US BACK LOTS OF CAMP SOUVENIRS, PLEASE?!"
By this point, Kaminari was hysteric, floods of salty tears leaking from his eyes, and Midoriya was in no better condition. He was starting to freak out because everyone else was freaking out, and it honestly started to freak me out, too. Everyone's anxiety levels were through the roof, and their auras were all so nervous and anxious, that it was starting to wear off on me.
"Come on, guys..." I said, awkwardly patting them on the backs. "Everyone just needs to relax, and calm down, and-"
The sliding door to the room slammed open - the cracking sound it made on impact with the runner resembling a thunderstruck, silencing us all.
"Once the bell rings, you should be in your seats," Mr. Aizawa warned.
We scrambled to our seats, but after that, no one dared to move. It was deathly quiet as we watched our teacher move to the front desk. 'He will - one of these days - make someone wet themselves, I swear...'
"Morning. Unfortunately, there are a few of who did not pass your final exams. So when it comes to your training camp in the woods..."
'Ouch.' I winced at his bluntness, and saw the faces of Kirishima, Sato, Mina, and Kaminari wither with disappointment. 'Why does he still gotta point it out when they know? '
However, the creepy smile that adorned his face made me confused. "Everyone is going!"
"It's a last minute twist!"
"We really get to go to camp?" Kirishima asked, his shark teeth bared in a grin.
"Seriously?!" Mina was crying tears of joy, her cheeks pinker than usual from being flustered.
