As All Might made his way up the front, he continued to explain how our lesson would go today.
"Foundational Hero Studies," he started, "Over the next few years, you'll be taking tests and trials and doing exercises that will help improve your quirks. Todays's trial will be the trial of..."
Everyone held their breath, including myself, as we waited in anticipation. Today we were going to do some real hero stuff, I just knew it.
"...Battle! The trial of battle!"
The whole class erupted into quizzical murmurs of surprise. Some of us were pumped to get going, but the others were still confused as to how the system would work. I was one of the confused kids. However, before I could ask any questions, All Might explained.
"I believe before coming here, you were asked what your hero costume would look like, and you were also asked to submit those costume designs. This is so we could make those dreams into reality. Now..."
A bunch of suitcases with numbers ranging between one and twenty-one melted out from the wall to my left. 'Are these our costumes? So cool! '
"Go and put them on, and then meet me at Ground Beta. You have half an hour, get going now."
~~~
Half an hour later, my classmates and I stood outside the gates to the training area Ground Beta. It seemed to be a model city - replicating any incidents that may happen within a city environment.
As we stood out the front of the doors, I took an opportunity to gaze at everyone's costumes. They were all so unique and completely original, it was hard to pick a favourite.
'Kirishima's looks cool,' I thought, observing the spiky red-head. 'But so is Shoji's. I can't really tell what Hagakure is meant to be wearing, and Ashido's is pretty wild...'
While I was distracted, I didn't notice one of my classmates approach me from behind.
"Hey, L/N," I spun around, startled by the sudden close voice, and saw a girl with green hair - tied uniquely in a bow - and big eyes.
"H-Hey, um..." it was then that I realised that I didn't know her name. 'Crap.'
"Asui," she answered for me, giving me a small wave and a smile. "Tsuyu Asui. But please, call me Tsu."
I waved back, giving her a closed-eyed smile.
"Nice to meet ya, Tsu. You already know me, but please, call me Y/N."
"Cool. I just wanted to say you were very impressive in the quirk assessment yesterday. Your quirk is quite spectacular to see in action."
I immediately started blushing, not used to such forwardness. I waved my hands in front of my face, trying to hide my blush.
"R-Really? T-Thanks, that means a lot. You were great, too! Your skills are very versatile, unlike mine. I only used it twice, whereas you could use it for most trials. You got a pretty handy quirk, Tsu."
I honestly thought that. Tsu had a quirk called 'Frog,' which enabled her to do whatever a frog could do. Her long tongue and climbing abilities would be handy in rescue missions, not to mention she was also level-headed - from the sounds of it - and seemed to pick the right thing to do, effectively resulting in her bluntness
"Cool costume, too. It really shows what kind of hero you are, Tsu."
"Thanks, yours is really great, too, Y/N."
I rubbed the back of my neck and chuckled. In comparison to the other costumes of our class, I didn't really think mine was great at all. I just wore an all black body suit, with black combat boots, and a white supply belt that held food, water, and a little electrical pack. All of that was just in case I couldn't find energy anywhere else.
