You felt heavy, who's voice was that?

"(Y/n)?"

Oh, it was the system. Who was fronting? It sounded different from last night. You slowly began to wake up and rubbed your eyes to see the tired boy looking down at you.

"Hm?" You mumbled.

"What happened last night? Why am I dressed like this?"

You thought for a moment and it all came back.

"Oh? Oh! A new alter come to the front. I explained everything I know and we played board games" you said.

"Oh, that's probably why the headspace is so loud today... was it the child we've been hearing? It's L by the way" He replied.

"Yeah I figured. It was a child alright. He was seven and his name is Deneuve"

"Jeez... how many of my aliases are actually alters... sorry for waking you up last night. And I gather this pastel pink hoodie is yours?"

"Yeah it's mine. He was kind of upset about being in a 'grown up body' so I gave it to him and hoped it would help. And it's fine. I'm here to help you guys, I can loose a bit of sleep for you"

You sat up, stretching your limbs out.

"He must have fallen asleep in here after all those puzzles..." you mumbled.

L got up too, stretching the body out. Yawning and looking ready to pass back out.

"He mentioned another alter that I don't recognise the description of. They have... a suit and silver-ish hair about jaw length" you added.

He thought for a moment, maybe talking to the rest of the system.

"Hm... I don't recognise that. Then again I have very limited access to the inner world, maybe Ryuga can try talking to them"

You walked out into the dining room- kitchen area, L following you. The puzzles were still spread out on the table.

"Woah, he really went to town on those puzzles" L said.

"Yeah, he sped through them. He's a smart kid I'll give him that. You want breakfast?

"Uh yeah, thanks. What have you got?"

You opened the cupboard and fridge, taking a look inside.

"Uhhh... pancakes, cereal, toast?"

"Pancakes please"

Getting to work on making some pancakes for the two of you, you filled L in on what happened last night in more detail, and he seemed a little dissociated. He did say the headspace was loud today, now that Deneuve has fronted, he was probably stirring up the system a little. Talking to Ryuzaki and Ryuga and such. Maybe everyone was close to the front?

Meanwhile, downstairs the taskforce were all slowly waking up and making their way to the monitor room to start work. Light, however, was growing rather suspicious. The detective running this, was acting very strange. Zoning out, sudden changes in attitude and tone, forgetting things. He wanted to get to the bottom of this.

"Misa"

"Yeah?"

"Have you noticed Ryuzaki acting off?" He asked.

"A bit, he's probably overtired" she replied.

"(Y/n) has been strange too. Like she's covering something up for him..."

"You know... now that you mention it..."

Matsuda joined the conversation, overhearing some of it and wanting to know what was going on.
