The Five: Elementals

"I'm going to ask you to do something crazy" she said after sometime, I just looked up at her. She turned around and grabbed something from under her pillow, I stood up quickly "what are you doing?" I ask motioning to the sharp blade in her hand "relax, I just need you to cut yourself" my eyes widened, "are you crazy!" I hissed taking a step back, she groaned.

"Stop being a fucking baby and just do it so I can show you something!" She yelled, I only nodded taking a hesitant step forward and grabbed the blade. I looked from my palm and to the blade this is crazy putting that thought to the side of my head I brought the blade down and winced at the small incision I made "okay, now you have to promise not to freak out okay?" She asked and I nodded not sure where she was going, she took a step forward grabbing my palm that blood was slowly starting to sleep from and closed her eyes, I flinched in surprise when heat radiated from her hand and a light etched its way through the cracks.

She opened her eyes and let go, looking at my hand I stood there in shock, the cut was gone and all that remained was the little bit of blood that had seeped through "what.the.fuck" I breathed out looking from my palm to her, "I need to alert the others" she said grabbing her phone "wait, the others? Other people can do this?" I ask, she ignored me and grabbed my hand leading me downstairs and into the training room where 'the five' was "does someone want to tell me what the hell is going on?" I ask pacing back and forth "you may want to sit down" Ryan said and for once I listened taking a seat, they all just stood there looking at each other "well?" I snapped.

"Look" Greg said stepping forward "there's no easy way to say this, so I'll just go ahead and say it, were Elementals" he said looking at me as if that somehow clears everything up "Ele- what?" I ask waiting for him to explain "well, you know the four elements water, earth, fire and air" he said. I looked at him not sure if he was serious or not "I guess we'll just have to show you then" he said holding his hand infront of me, then suddenly flames burst out if his fingers and I helped jumping back "I'm fire" he said, looking back at Rayne She rolled her eyes and held her palms up suddenly an orb of water was sloshing around above her hand "water obviously" and suddenly there was a strong breeze and my curly strands whipped around my face "air" Ryan said looking triumphant, I looked to drake and he kneeled down placing his hand on the ground which suddenly split and it was as if there was a mini earthquake "earth" he said in his hard time and I stumbled a bit from the strength.

I nodded trying to take this all in "wait, what about Amiyah?" I asked she smiled "I'm the fifth element Aether, I can heal with a touch" I clenched my jaw "s-so why am I here"

"That's a good question Amiyah" rain said glaring at her, Amiyah rolled her eyes "so you know how your my twin right?" I looked at her like she was stupid "so your my other half right" I nodded not sure where she was going with this "Aether is basically another way of saying spirit, and you know there's two halves to a spirit" she trailed off looking at me intently

"Just spit it out already!"

I was tired of the anticipation "my power is life, I heal...and I think yours is death".

About thirty minutes later we were testing Amiyah's theory out with a bird "I don't even know how I did it to the rat" I said looking at Greg, he sighed "just imagine the same feeling in your hand that you got with the rat and focus that into the bird" he said I nodded placing my hand on the bird and thought about the fury rat and how I scared I was, I peeked my eyes open to the bird was still alive. I groaned "here" Greg said placing my hand back in the bird, "try to picture it" I took a deep breath in mostly to clear my head because if how close Greg is to me right now and I try not to focus on his breath fanning the back of my neck giving me goosebumps "okay" I closed my eyes invisioning this bird dead, the stillness of it's chest and the lack of a heart beat, I felt my hand heat up and that strange tingling sensation pricked my finger tips, when it was gone I opened my eyes and smiled "I did it!" The bird was now laying limp on the table "I told you" Greg said, and walked away and suddenly the warmth that once ingulfed me was gone.

"Great now we know she can kill Bambi" Rayne said sarcastically and I shot her a glare "well now we have to get her on board with the team" Ryan said smiling at me "wait, ohhh so that's why they call you guys 'the five'" I said figuring it out, I leaned back against the wall "so who's in charge?", Greg cleared his throat "unofficially that's me but officially Ashton" he grumbled out the last part "well what do you guys do?" I ask walking around "protect the humans" Ryan answered, I nodded "okay...from what?"

"Demons" drake deadpanned and I stiffened looking at each of them "so, still wanna join the team freckles?".
