"done!" I practically screeched and sprinted to the front of the class handing in my last test, "Aaliyah, I mean this in the best possible way. I can't wait for you to be done with this class" Mrs. Mickelson said "likewise" I smirked grabbing my bag and all but sprinting out the door.

Winter break.

Finally

I was walking in blissful silence to the training room, when a deep voice startled me ruining the moment "freckles" he said walking next to me "Firefly" I remarked looking at him, he smirked and slung his arm over my shoulders capturing gazes from girls in the hallway that were now sending me death glares.

"Ready for the race?"

"That depends, are you ready to loose?"

I asked sending him a playful smirk, ever since Amiyah and the others told me about there powers I started hanging out more with them...more like Ryan forced me too, but I wasn't complaining they were all actually pretty cool, save for Rayne Everytime she looks at me it's as if she's trying to murder me with her eyes.

"Don't get too excited death, I win every year"

I paused momentarily at the new nickname, yea I could literally kill some one with just a simple touch, but that didn't mean I would.

"Well this year I'm sure that's going to change" I said slipping out from under his arm. His dark eyebrows shot up and I could tell he was going to make another one if his annoying little deals with me.

"Alright then, if your so sure that you'll win...how bout we make a little bet?" He asked his eyebrows wiggling in suggestion.

"And what might that bet be flame boy"

"If I win the race, you have to go to the dance with me" I paused for a moment, and crossed my arms.

"And if I win?"

"Pick your poison" he said

"If I win, you have to do everything I tell you too when we get back from break"

He stood still for a moment considering this "your on newbie" I held out my hand for him to shake and he grabbed it pulling me close "make sure you pick out something red" he whispered causing goosebumps to scatter across my arms.

"Well the good news is, you won't have the pleasure of seeing how amazing I look in red" I said forcing a smile although the butterflies were still ramming against my stomach.

After changing out of my school uniform and into my riding uniform, I led Pegasus to the arena and I swear literally everyone in the school was watching along with others family members.

"Aaliyah!" I heard Katie call and turned in the direction of her and Bella, Katie kind of looked a bit out of place in her uniform, which was brown and white to match Bella, she had on the white riding pants and her Blazer was brown and a little big.

"Look Katie, if you came to beg me to go easy on you...I'm sorry but that's not gonna happen" I joked hauling myself into Pegasus who was all to excited for this race.

"Yea, yea whatever...so Ryan wanted me to ask you" she trailed off when I gave her a warning look, she raised her hands in surrender.

"Okay, I'll ask after the race"

"Can't say I'll listen"

I said before making a tsking sound with my mouth and Pegasus ran to the starting line where Greg and Apollo were already waiting. My mouth went dry when I saw him, his gray blazer fit tightly in his muscles and I had to look away before I passed out.
