"Hoped you found your dress for tonight" he said looking at me, to which my response was to roll my eyes.

"In your dreams Firefly"

"I will hold you to that"

And for like the millionth time this week I was grateful for the cold air hiding my rosy cheeks.

"Okay! Everyone you know the rules, three laps, no violence, no energy strictly relying on your horse!" Ashton yelled I patted Pegasus back focusing a bit of green energy into him.

The announcer started to count down from 10, and I dug my heels into Pegasus sides and ducked my head to prevent him being slowed down from the wind "5"

The loud blare went off, and I didn't have to tell Pegasus to go before he lurched forward easily passing everyone up.

We were pulling to the front where Ryan drake and Greg were in the lead and I dug my heels into Pegasus sides to speed up until I was neck and neck with Greg. With Drake and Ryan only a little ways behind me "your not winning that easily!" I yell to Greg, he only smirked and sped up, I bit in my lower lip urging Pegasus to go faster.

"You got this buddy"

I whispered and he sped up as well, the red flag was coming up and it gave me a new found confidence "velocium!" I yelled to Pegasus using my magic to speed him up I heard Greg chant the same to Apollo.

We were neck and neck when we passed the finish line and I couldn't tell who won, I let Pegasus run in a few circles trying to calm him down and I looked up at the screen watching Pegasus and Apollo pass the finish line with Apollo's nose only a centimeters ahead of Pegasus as they passed the finish line.

The crowd erupted into applause and I looked over at Greg who now had a passe of girls surrounding him.

Signaling for Pegasus to move I rode his back to the stables a twinge of disappointment eating at my stomach "double A!" Ryan's annoying voice shrieked, I pulled Pegasus to a stop and waited for him to walk over "good job out there"

"I lost" I mumbled disregarding his compliment "by an inch plus you came in second so..." He trailed off.

"Is there something that you need?" I asked, I wasn't trying to be rude I just wanted to sulk alone.

"Uh yeah actually, I was wondering if you wanted to g-" he was cut off by Greg approaching and a smile found its way on my face "guess I won" he said smirking.

"Barely" I grumbled still upset.

"Whatever freckles a deals a deal, I'll pick you up at six"

"Yeah, yeah" I groaned getting off of Pegasus Greg laughed and walked away and only then did I remember Ryan was there.

"I'm sorry, you wanted to know what?" I asked leading Pegasus to his stall and locking him up.

"Oh, um nevermind...see you at the dance?" I did a double take, he looked a little upset but I couldn't quite place it "yep"

I quipped walking next to him.

"I just thought about something" I said freezing he looked at me weird "you should ask Rayne yo the dance" I said linking my arm with his on the way back to the school.

"I'd rather take my chances with a killer whale" he said, and I giggled.

"Just think about it, unless you were thinking of asking someone else"I teased and he looked thoughtful for a moment a small frown playing on his elegant features.
