I gasped.

"You were weren't you, ugh I'm sorry Ryan...who did you want to ask?" He paused.

"No actually, I guess I could ask Rayne...I mean she is hot" I rolled my eyes.

"Okay then, I'll see you then" I said giving him a quick hug and running to my dorm.

I hated to admit it, but ever since I met Greg I haven't been able to stop scrutinizing my appearance in the mirror.

I was in a strapless fire truck red dress that hugged my body in all the right spots and at the hips it jutted out into soft pleats stopping just at mid thigh and I paired it with my black high heel boots.

"I take it your going to the dance now" Katie's voice said from behind me and I couldn't help my giddiness "yep!" I said a little too enthusiastic "did he finally ask you?" She asked sitting on her bed "well, we kinda made a deal, and since he won I had to go to the dance with him" a look of confusion crossed her face "no I meant..." She trailed off "nevermind"

I wanted to ask her about but she quickly changed the subject.

"I can do your hair" I nodded excitedly and she smiled walking over to fix the wild curly mess I call my hair.

I noticed Katie was wearing a white dress, but hers was form fitting and had spaghetti straps, it stopped at her mid thigh and she paired it with her checkered vans, she even curled her pale blonde hair. The thing with Katie is that she absolutely hates heels, she calls them 'devils on sticks'

"So did drake ask you?" After she plugged in the flat iron and started brushing this tangled mess, I looked at her in the mirror and she had smile on. "Yeaaaaa"

She giggled, "how are you guys anyways?" I asked feeling like a terrible friend for not keeping up with her love life, "were good, great actually. Drake is so sweet" I crinkled my nose, I can't even imagine drake being sweet. Yea we got to know each other but he's always so stiff .

"Drake? Sweet?", She popped my head with a comb "ow"

"Shut up, so you and Greg...how did that happen?"

"Gee Katie don't sound to exited" I say sarcastically looking at my hands.

"I'm happy for you and all, but just be careful okay?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" I was starting to get defensive.

She hesitated "it's just, Greg's a player...I don't want you to get hurt"

"What makes you so sure I'm going to get hurt" I sat up quickly making her jump, I sighed. "I'm sorry, your right it's just I..."

"You really like him" she finished for me.

"Yea" I nodded solemnly "I don't know why he's so interested in me anyways" Katie sighed starting on the last chunk of my hair.

"I can only think of two reasons" she said, her eyes focused on my hair "one, he finally came to his senses and fell hopelessly in live with you, or two, he wants to use your new power to fend off his enemies" she said viciously.

I chuckled, after everything happened I had told her about me but it turns out drake already told her about the group just not me so she was filled in on everything. "Knowing Greg he most definitely did not fall in love with me and I seriously doubt he needs me to protect him considering he's like a human lighter" she laughed "true"

"More like he's looking for a trusty side kick"

"Ooh then you have tough competition with Drake" I laughed as she finished.
