Chapter 68

"Come on, girly," Toga cooed. "We're best friends aren't we? So let's see some blood, now."

"Not on my life! Get back!"

Aiming at the ground, I let off a small energy blast, breaking the ground up beneath Toga's feet. She screamed as she fell down into the small ditch I created, but I didn't wait around to see the end result. 'I have to grab Bakugou now. We have to get out of here.'

Running away from the ditch, I scanned the area to see Compress chasing after Bakugou across the clearing. Panic kicked my legs into gear, my quads burning as I raced as fast as I could over to help my friend.

'Crap. If that magician touches him, Bakugou'll be screwed.' Heavy pants escaped me as I continued to run, my eyes only on my ash-blond classmate. I had to get to him; I had to save him.

"Bakugou!" I called. "I'm coming- Gah!"

I slammed into the dirt as I felt my ankles lock together. Looking down, I saw tape wrapped around my ankles, binding them tightly together. 'Shit.'

"Look what I got, Spinner!" Twice cried, jumping with delight as the lizard-man joined him. "Man, she's not even worth it..."

Spinner laughed, raising one of his blades at me. "Nice one, Twice. Let's grab her and get going."

"Not gonna happen," I spat back, raising my arms at the two villains as I blasted energy beams at them. On impact, energy bands formed around their bodies, strapping their arms to their sides.

"W-What is this?!" Spinner cried, struggling in the bindings. "Release us, child!"

I ignored his cries, ripping off the tape around my ankles as fast as I could. Shooting to my feet, I sprinted past the two villains towards where the other villains had Bakugou surrounded. Over his shoulder, I saw All Might and All for One fighting, punching at one another with just as equal force as the other. Neither seemed to be winning, and that was bad.

'All Might probably doesn't want to hurt Bakugou and I,' I realised, watching how he was trying to manoeuvre the fight away from where we were. 'Damnit, he can't fight to his fullest potential because we're in the way, still. We have to leave. Now! '

"Bakugou!" I called, finally reaching him. "We have to get out of here. Now."

"You think I don't know that?!" he yelled back, blasting himself out of the way of Toga's knives. "All Might's holding back because of us, but - as you can see - leaving isn't really an option right now."

"Not along the ground."

Bakugou paused as I flung up a protection bubble around us, grunting to keep it up as the villains' combined attacks all hit at a once.

"What are you saying, lightbulb?"

My body shook as I felt my energy leaving me, but I held the barrier. I needed more time to explain. "I'm saying that we can use the sky to get out of here."

"How?"

"Well... I was kind of thinking along the lines of just getting ourselves out of here and then figuring it out from there. What do you say?"

I turned to see Bakugou's reaction, and I couldn't help but smile along with him.

"Sounds like a plan to me," he said, looking at the villains behind my barrier. "So, how do you plan on getting us out of here?"

"Well, first I need you to-"

I gasped as my shield shattered, millions of shining energy shards dissipating as they fell to the ground. Bakugou and I were blown back from the impact, hitting the ground a few meters away from where we were standing. "Damnit," I grumbled. "They're determined not to let us go."
