( this is set during the Disney movie)
Third person POV:
Clopin Trouillefou, the joker of Paris, the king of romani, always on the run and in search of money. He was known for entertaining people of all ages.
Y/N L/N, pretty much the most normal girl in Paris... Well, as normal as a dancing romani girl could be. Y/N was known around the streets of Paris for her amazing, self taught moves.
But under the streets of Paris, among the romani, they were know for being an arranged marriage since Y/N's birth. Clopin was maybe three years when his and Y/N's parents decided to arrange their futures for them.
And honestly, they both didn't like that plan. Not now either, though Clopin had begun teasing the poor girl for it. Y/N could be going about her day and Clopin would walk by and say:
-Good morning gorgeous! Counting the days till the wedding! Can't wait for you to be my queen!
Y/N would just scoff and walk away from him.
But little did they know that they both loved the way they acted towards each other. Clopin loved they way Y/N would roll her eyes and walk away as he teased her. Y/N loved that Clopin spend so much time and energy on her, even though she wouldn't admit it.
They were meant for each other, even their parents knew that..... but they didn't.This particular day, is just a week before the arranged wedding. The romani were ecstatic and made the old court of miracles on the outskirts of Paris look absolutely perfect for the wedding. Not only that, but they made Clopin and Y/N work together. This day, Y/N was helping Clopin set up a puppeteer show for the kids.
-I can't believe you do this everyday, Y/N sighs and puts all the puppets the way Clopin instructed her to.
-Eh, it's a part of the job, Clopin smirks at her, and she rolls her eyes. When they were done setting up, Y/N started playing the tambourine and Clopin started luring the kids closer to the caravan.
-Listen! They're beautiful, no? So many colors of sounds, so many changing moods, Clopin starts.
-Because you know, they don't ring all by themselves! He starts, and brings up a puppet. I giggle as Clopin tells the entrancing story of the hunchback of Notre dame. I sit down next to the kids and listen intensely, remembering how Clopin used to tell us this story when I was little. When they story stops, the kids applaud him, as do I. Clopin smiles at me and bows dramatically for me. I roll my eyes, but I also held back a smile of my own.~Time skip Y/N POV~
-You're very good with kids, I compliment Clopin as we return to the court of miracles with his caravan.
-Thank you dear. Thinking about getting some? He says and I scoff.
-Keep on dreaming, I say and smile.
-Oh, I will, he says and wiggles his eyebrows.
I roll my eyes and walk away to the other ladies. They were helping me put together my outfit and performance for the Feast of Fools tomorrow. They quickly make me change behind a curtain and then start playing music for me to dance to.
I laugh as a small boy runs up to me and starts copying my dance. A bunch of other kids follow him and I grab their hands and hop around in a circle.Clopin POV:
I smile as I hear the familiar tune of Y/N's dance routine. I walk to the open area and smile as Y/N dances with a young boy and his friends. I couldn't wait for this week to be over so she could be mine.At the Feast of Fools, Y/N POV:
Esmeralda has just finished her dance and she's now helping Quasimodo, the bell ringer, off of the pedestal, where he had been spit on. I notice guards moving closer towards her and I look panicked around the crowd. Where was Clopin when you really needed him? I walk a couple of steps before I run into someone's chest. I look up and there he is. I quickly hug him.
-Hey! What's going on? He asks concerned. I point fearfully to the guards and I could almost hear him frowning.
-You don't need to be afraid, I will protect you, he says and puts an arm around my shoulder, as he notices some guards eyeing us from afar.
Esmeralda puts on a real show and gets rid of the guards, and knocks Frollo of his high horse.
The sky becomes dark gray and guards begin shooting people away and into their houses. Clopin leads me away and into his changing tent.
-Are you alright? He asks and I nod and smile slightly. I start hearing the pitter patter on the roof of the tent. Clopin sighs and sits down on the ground in front of me. He puts his hand on my cheek and I giggle as a tear falls.
-This makes me almost wish for the wedding, I sniffle. Clopin smiles and hugs me.
-Soon... he says and I lean into his embrace. It doesn't matter how much I tried to hate him; he was always there when I needed it.
