Third person POV:
-Honey, c'mon open the door, we're gonna be late! Hades knocks a the door to his and his wife's chambers.
-I don't want to go! Her muffled voice can be heard.
-What do you mean you don't want to go? You begged me to take me with you just to days ago! Hades says stressed. He now only had a couple of minutes before all the gods had their big meeting that they have once every decade. Now, Y/N was a god, just not a full blooded god. Her mother was a god, her dad was a mortal, but she inherited more from her mother than her father.
-I mean that I don't want to go anymore! I'm not even a real god! Y/N argues. Hades sighs.
-Alright sweetheart, I won't make you go, Hades gives up and leaves.Truth is, Y/N wanted to go so badly. She had begged her husband to join ever since they got married. But she got cold feet. She thought of every excuse in the book; the dress makes me look fat, I'm not a real goddess, the other gods will hate me, I don't even know what I'm goddess of. They were all lies. She loved her dress, she is born from a goddess, the other gods would've loved to meet her... and you know the rest. But she was so afraid. She's never been to mount Olympus and she was absolutely terrified of the other gods. Well, all except Hades. He was the sweetest and had the most gentle soul she had ever seen...
She takes another look in the mirror.Hades POV:
I finally arrive at mount Olympus, with seconds to spare. I immediately receive a cup of wine and Zeus spots me.
-Ah! Hades, we almost thought you wouldn't come! He booms, making me frown.
-Well, I had some trouble with the wife, I say and look at this years seat arrangement.
-Is Y/N not coming? Hera asks. I look at her name tag next to mine.
-No, I say sadly. Then we all stand by our seats, looking at each other, just waiting for the right time to sit down. Then a figure stands beside me. I look to the side and there she stands; my wonder wife.
-You came! I whisper happily. The other gods smile at my burst of happiness. Y/N smiles shyly back.
-Well I've been nagging you for nearly a century... might as well take the chance, she says and sits down with the others. I sit down beside her and grab her hand. My mood was immediately lifted. I was not alone at this table and listening to the others, I finally had someone to share this with... or to witness, depends on what happens.Y/N POV:
It felt like I have a beehive in my stomach, I'm so nervous. I squeeze Hades' hand as he pour up some wine for me.
-Well, my fellow gods. Let me introduce you to my one and only wife, Y/N, Hades says and smiles at me. I smile at all the gods who greet me and wave shyly back.
-Hi everyone, I say quietly. As the dinner progresses, I try to take a stand in whatever the others were discussing. They seemed to like having something to discuss with someone else than each other. I bet that spending millennia with the same people could really bore you to the core. Hades in particular loved to have me there. He smiled every time I questioned their opinions, but hid it behind his cup of wine.
-Well I do wish that you'd stop falling for mortals, I point out. Hades smirks at the remark.
-And why's that? Zeus asks curiously.
-It takes a toll on the mortal and on the child, I quickly respond.
-And how do you know? Ares asks. I slowly put down my wine cup and look questioning at hades. He nodded for me to go on.
-Well, I Huff.
-Look at me. My mother was a goddess who died as she tried to fight for my right. I was an outcast in my city. With my strange complexion and powers. People nearly burned and drowned me a couple of times for being weird, I say.
-My father left because of this. He didn't want to have a freak like me for a daughter if it meant that he'd be chased for the rest of his life, I say.
-I had to fend for myself and almost died, until Hades found me, I say and grab his hand.
-Many of your half mortal children die to protect themselves. Is that really how you want your own offspring to think of you? I ask. The gods look among themselves. They whisper between each other, Zeus looking confused.
-Only difference is that I took after my mother more than my father. I'm immortal, I cannot die, I say to break their whispers.
-So don't even try, Hades says threateningly. Everyone looks at Zeus who talks to Hera. Finally he nods.
-Y/N has a point. I propose a new law! No god is to have children with a mortal unless they plan... to keep it and fend for it themselves, Zeus looks at the other gods. And I can only stare starstruck at Hades. Some gods frowned, and some nodded gracefully.
-You hear me!? Zeus then asks.
A choir of "yes"s can be heard from the gods, even Hades. Zeus than looks at me and stands up.
-Let's welcome Y/N to the table of gods! Zeus raises his glass.
-Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! The other gods chant, even Hades. Hades kisses my cheek.
-It wasn't that bad, was it? He asks as the gods celebrate.
-Not with you there to support me, I say and give him a kiss. He kisses back, still holding my hand.
-Well, I'd call this night a success, he then whispers and I giggle.
-Me too, I say.
-So you'll come with me next decade? Hades asks and I play with his flames.
-Oh no doubt. These gods still have a lot to learn, I say. Hades smiles and kisses my hand. These gods still had a lot to learn... but Hades will always have my back, through thick and thin.
