Finding Me (Todoroki x Reader)

Chapter 94

Ah, ya think?! My attention was, thankfully, diverted away from the embarrassing situation, and instead to my zooming, green-haired friend, who was swinging a kick at Togata's head. Yes, he was open. Get him Midoriya.

My excitement quickly evaporated when Midoriya's foot just... slipped right through the third year's head, flying through him to land on the other side.

My eyes narrowed in on the third year. So that was his quirk? It allowed anything to pass through him? I had to admit, it was an incredible quirk; but what could we do if none of our hits would land on him? What could I do?

"Went for the face, huh?" Togata simply said, his smile ever present, even as a laser beam, a line of tape and a stream of acid went right through his head. Mina, Sero's and Aoyama's attacks went right through him like Midoriya's had; and into a nearby rock, forcing Midoriya to leap out of the way as debris sprayed everywhere.

I coughed as the smoke came my way, blinking a few times to see through the haze. However, when the smoke finally cleared, I didn't see him. I didn't see Togata. Shit. Where did he go?

"What's this?" Iida exclaimed, looking at the the empty space before us. "Where did he go?'

My E/C eyes scanned around the area, looking up, down and all around for the third year. But he was nowhere to be found, no trace of him anywhere. No trace... 

For a moment, I felt his presence - it flickered and disappeared within a second, but I'd felt it. My eyes widened as I followed the flicker of his bright aura, looking down at the ground as realisation hit me.

He was underground. Somehow, someway, Togata was moving through the ground. And he was zooming towards-

"I think I'll start by taking out the long distance fighters!" Togata's cheery voice sounded from behind the group, Kyoka's wild scream causing us all to turn around.

"He warped?" Shoji asked, dumbfounded just as much as I was.

Turning to run in his direction, Sato shouted, "His power isn't just slipping through things?!"

"How did he luck out with such a good quirk!" Kirishima called, running alongside the strong man of our class, clearly frustrated.

He was right: Togata's quirk was good. In fact, I'd say it was the most impressive quirk I'd ever seen - not including All Might's, of course. It seemed as though he had lucked out, but based on the hard-defined muscles and the way he seamlessly used his quirk, told me it wasn't just all luck.

As Tokoyami sent an attack at Togata, a quiet voice spoke up from the sidelines.

"You're wrong," Amajiki called, still facing the wall. "His quirk isn't what you should be jealous of..." Togata slipped through Dark Shadow's claws at the last second, slipping into the ground only to pop up a second later and punch my shadowy friend's gut. Hard.

"You should be envying his skills. That's what sets him apart from you first years." And then he was zooming again, flashing in front of Sero and Mineta and delivering the same punch to them as he'd given to Tokoyami. My two classmates fell in an instant. It had happened in an instant.

"Mirio did a work study with a hero, but he didn't stop there..." I watched in frozen horror as Tsu, Aoyama and Mina were knocked to the ground - a single punch to the stomach. "He kept building himself up." Kaminari, Shoji, Kyoka and Momo were the next to fall, Togata getting a surprise jump on them from behind. Four solid punches later, and they were out for the count.

This guy was insane. I couldn't believe what I was seeing - my friends falling in an instant, without so much as putting up a fight. I figured this fight would be hard, but I never imagined him being so powerful, so strong, so... untouchable.
