Shoto's face entered my mind, his eyes shining the same way they had done that day in class. Like they did every time he meant something.

"...When you want something, you go for it. That's just who you are. Don't let this initial road block deter you from your dream..."

They shone with truth and honesty, and a firm belief in what he was saying. A firm belief... in me.

I had to be strong. I had be a protector for the people behind me, or else this guy would win. I had to be Kirishima's support. I had to become impenetrable.

Blinding white energy shone from my whole body, lighting up the dark alleyway just as the blades came crashing towards me. The wall was set in place. I was ready for the onslaught. Bring it on, you psychotic blade-man. You're not getting past me.

But nothing came. Instead, the blades stopped at Kirishima, all of them shattering on impact. My eyes widened as the remaining fragments fell to the ground, unable to take my eyes off of what my friend had become.

Before, he was just a simple boy with a hardening quirk that I believed to be one of my strongest classmates. But now Eijiro Kirishima stood in front of me as solid wall of rock and steel. Every inch of him had hardened like I'd never seen it hardened before. His hands resembled claws and his teeth were sharper than ever. From his hair to his shoes, Kirishima had transformed into a beast.

"Kirishima..." I breathed out. So this is what he'd been training to become. Unbreakable.

"What's that noise?" the white-haired villain said, stepping back a little. "It sounds like your whole body is creaking?!"

That's because it was. Because Kirishima had hardened his every fibre, every movement he made sounded like rocks scraping rocks. I didn't know how long he could keep it up, but I had to admit it was one of the most scariest and amazing things I'd ever seen.

Without answering, Kirishima took off towards the villain, fists at the ready. "HERE I COME!"

The villain took a step back, taking up another offensive stance. "I'll focus all of my blades into one spot... and skewer you!"

All over his front they came out of, barreling towards Kirishima like one giant, spiky drill. The grinding of steel over rock screeched in my ears, but Kirishima did not break. He stood there, unbreakable; only some blades slipping past him. But I was there to stop them, the blades themselves disintegrating on impact.

I would not let them past. I would not break.

And neither would Kirishima. Like me, he knew people still stood behind us, and that there were most likely people still in the buildings around us. He couldn't break. He wouldn't.

An overwhelming sense of pride hit me as I watched on. Kirishima really was incredible.

My classmate threw a punch at the blades, shattering them and clearing himself a path towards the villain. Clenching his other fist, he threw it forwards into the man's stomach, the impact of the punch resounding through the alley.

"Ultimate move: Red. Gun. TURRET!"

The remaining blades shattered as the man was sent flying through the air and then rolling across the ground. Kirishima breathed in heavy breaths as steam rose off him, his normal body returning. I waited a few moments longer, watching with bated breath for any movements from the villain before letting the shield drop. But nothing.

I allowed myself to breathe a sigh of relief. Kirishima had done it. It was over.

"Is everyone okay, back there?" I asked, running to the civilians.
