That evening me and Tintin went to watch a movie.
It was my first "date" sort of situation, the only difference is that we're just friends...well, to be more precise, more like acquaintances.
Captain gave us both a sly grin as we headed out.
I took my chance and wrapped my arm on Tintin's. To which Tintin laughed.
It was all fun since we both are immune to his teasing by now.Tintin wore his signature blue sweater, and on top of that a nice dark brown leather jacket.
It made him look really attractive, especially since he's driving a green convertible.I, on the other hand wore the most basic outfit one can wear during a cold autumn evening. A dark blue sweater with an overcoat and trousers.
As we parked in front of the film hall, Tintin immediately got out and opened the car door for me.
He's really sweet and one fine gentleman.
I saw many girls secretly looking at him....which he's used to, I guess. He tried his best to smooth his quiff but it popped up again, which made me giggle. They looked at me enviously. I felt proud. He paid for everything, which I didn't want him to, but had to let him because I suddenly realized I lost my wallet with the luggage.
The movie was great too. It's an adventure film, I'm pretty sure Tintin has been in all the situations in that movie, because what he was expecting always happened. Except the romance part.
It was a good break from all the troubles I'm facing right now, at least for a while.
We came back to Marlinspike, laughing on the way at how Captain lit a fire in a lifeboat, when Tintin first met him at sea.
The car stopped near the fountain. It was windy, and the full moon shining on the fountain gave me an eery feeling.
There were lights in Captain's room and the living area.
I checked my watch to find the time is 9 PM.Nestor opened the main door, and out came Snowy to greet Tintin, as we got out of the car.
'Missed me?' Laughed Tintin as Snowy licked his face.
I smiled at them. 'Sorry old boy, I had to steal him for a while'
Snowy came over to me, I bent down to pet him.A huge gush of wind flew out of nowhere, which made my hair go all over my face.
I got up, fixed my hair, and decided to flash the torchlight to the distance. Because the rustle of the trees made me nervous.
I flashed it to the pathway, and for a brief second, something silvery reflected the light.
I blinked, wiped my eyes and flashed the torch towards the sides. Nothing reflected the light back.
I was so fixated on it, I didn't hear Tintin call me, until he slightly shook me on the shoulder.
'Are you alright (Y/N)?...you seem, preoccupied.' He asked me, worried.
'Um...I think so...' I scratched my neck.
'(Y/N)?' He leaned in.
'I...I don't know, I think I saw something' I pointed at the flash. I continued. 'Something reflected the light...but now it's gone' I muttered.
Suddenly Snowy started to growl at the woods.
'Go in, I'll have a look' he whispered. 'Come on Snowy!'
'No! You're not going alone' I protested.
'Just go in!' He demanded. 'I can't put you in danger'.
'Ha!' I snorted, 'you think I'm afraid of those rodents?' I hissed.
'It's no joke, Go. Home.' He said calmly.
'Alright bye!' I grabbed the torch from him and went towards the woods where I saw something glistening.
'(Y/N)!' Tintin hissed back. '(Y/N) come back here!'
I waved at him in reply.
I heard snowy trotting behind me. I turned back to see an angry Tintin behind me. I smirked.
'You never listen do you?' He hissed, annoyed.
'Did I ever?' I mocked. He rolled his eyes.
Suddenly we heard a tree branch snap, we stopped in our tracks. Snowy growled. Tintin hushed him.
I looked at him. He motioned me towards a nearby tree and we hid behind it. I looked around and found that we were behind a small cottage like building.
'This is professor's lab' Tintin whispered to my ear.
We peaked inside the building, and found out the door was open.
'Wait here' Tintin muttered, and took out...a gun.
Wow. So he's been taking this in the car the whole time...
He crept in, but I couldn't hold myself to stay put, I don't know why.
After a few seconds, I crept inside as well.
It was a very cluttered space. The metallic parts shone in the moon light. I saw Tintin ahead of me, he turned around and scowled at me, I ignored it.
Suddenly on to my right, I saw something sparkle again.
I immediately recognized what it was and lunged on to it, to change its direction.
'Tintin LOOK OUT!' I screamed.
In a flash, a bullet ricocheted a mirror. I saw something suddenly falling on Tintin's head.
He fell unconscious.
I punched the man, we struggled and there were bullets flying towards the roof.
Out of nowhere snowy lunges onto him, growling and ripped a piece of his coat off.
The man tried to shoot again but realized the magazine is empty.
He ran as fast as he could towards the woods. I ran behind him and remembered I left Tintin all alone.Disappointed, I ran back. I saw him trying to get up.
'Tintin! Are you alright?' I helped him up. He checked his head for blood, groaning in pain.
I checked his head where he got hit, to my surprise there is no bump either.
'(Y/N), are you hurt?' He got up and twisted me all around, like I'm a little kid.
I felt my blood boil. Who does he think he is anyway? He's so full of himself and thinks that I can't handle anything.
'Thank goodness you're~'
His sentence cut off as I smacked his hands away.
He was surprised by my sudden reaction.
'Stop it! You think I can't do anything don't you? Of course, I'm just a kid, got fired from my first job!'
'(Y/N) I...'
'No! Don't say another word! You could have been killed if I stayed like you said!' I practically hollered.
'I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to...'
'Just leave me alone!' I stormed away. Something hit my foot as I went along.
To be continued...
