Alive (Pit x Reader x Dark Pit)

Chapter 20: A State of Shock!

"Is it Y/N?" Pit asked. When he didn't get a response, Pit grew worried. "Lady Palutena...?"

"Pit, we may have trouble."

The second Dark Pit landed in front of the two, both Palutena and Pit drew their weapons, ready for battle. You quickly hopped out of Dark Pit's arms before waving at the two.

"Hi guys!" You said.

"Hi Y/N!" Pit happily replied. He then turned his attention back to Dark Pit. "Pitto! What are you doing here!!"

"I told you to stop calling me that. And isn't it obvious you idiot," Dark Pit retorted. The two glared at each other and you grew quiet, unsure of what to say. Having Dark Pit bring you back wasn't the best idea, but Phosphora was busy cashing a lottery ticket, so you had no choice.

"I thought Phosphora would bring Y/N home," Palutena murmured.

"She was busy. So I took the liberty," Dark Pit said. Palutena raised both eyebrows.

"I...that's...oddly nice-"

"I'm leaving."

Dark Pit abruptly turned to leave but you moved in front of him, stopping him in his tracks.

"Hey, thanks for bringing me back. And...sorry about before," You murmured.

You were referring to the time you slapped him. It was 100% his fault though, so you didn't regret doing it. However, you still felt the need to apologize.

"Before?" Both Pit and Palutena asked.

"Huh. I didn't expect an apology," Dark Pit said. "Though I must admit, I did have fun."

"Ironically, I kinda did too," You admitted. "We should do that more often."

"T-That...?" Palutena asked, her expression blank.

"More o-often?" Pit whispered.

"Actually, Dark Pit. Would you mind staying for a while? We could all play Pit's Switch together," You suggested.

"What?" Dark Pit said.

"WHATTTTTT!!?!" Pit shouted.

"No!!!!!" Palutena exclaimed. She summoned a whiteboard in an instant and frantically drew math formulas across it. "Impossible! I didn't predict this outcome!! W-were there holes in my conclusion?! Was I....wrong...?"

"Well, I think it would be nice," You said. "What do you think Pit?"

"I think that's a terrible idea!!!" Pit exclaimed. Your eyes widened and Pit panicked. "I m-mean it's a nice idea b-but not the best! Not that you're not the best, you're awesome Y/N! It's just... it's just-"

"We don't have enough controllers!" Palutena intervened. Pit nodded in agreement and you smiled before responding.

"I knew you'd say that. And don't worry about the controllers, because I stole- I mean bought an extra one. Just for this occasion."

You pulled a Switch controller out of your bag and both Pit and Palutena froze in place, unsure of what to say.

"Well would you look at that...now we can all play," Dark Pit said. His tone of voice seemed to hold ill intentions, so Pit quickly drew his weapon.

"Y/N, get away from him. He's too dangerous," Pit said. Before you could respond (or even move away) Dark Pit intervened.

"Or you'll do what? You can't beat me. And you sure as hell can't stop me."

"Oh yeah?! Well let's find out!" 

Dark Pit drew his weapon as Pit lunged forward, the two clashing. You quickly moved out of range from the now heated battle, making your way over to Palutena.

"Y/N, are you alright?" Palutena asked.

"I'm fine....Palutena, why can't you two be nice to Dark Pit? He isn't that bad of a person, erm, I mean angel," You said. Palutena sighed before replying. 

"Because he can't be trusted Y/N. He's tolerable on certain occasions, but I would prefer you stay away from him..." Palutena explained. "I'm sure you'll understand soon enough."

You frowned as you turned your attention back to the battle. Dark Pit dodged underneath one of Pit's attacks and swept low, knocking Pit right off his feet. Pit slammed face flat into the ground, his weapons falling from his hands. Dark Pit used this time to laugh.

"Well, someone's been slacking."

"He thinks he's so funny," Palutena murmured. She summoned her staff and slightly raised it, knocking Dark Pit right off his feet. He too, landed flat on his face. You tried to hold back laughter. "Enough you two. There's no reason to fight."

"Yeah, well he started it!!!" Pit exclaimed, pulling himself back up. Dark Pit stood up as well and dusted himself off.

"You can't do anything without Palutena holding your hand. And you started it you idiot," Dark Pit retorted.

"Did not!"

"Did too."

"Did Not!!"

"Did to-"

"Did! Not!!"

"Someone's touchy," Dark Pit said, a small smile on his face. "Did I strike a nerve?"

"Yeah! You did! Stay away from Y/N!" Pit exclaimed.

"Why do you even care?"

"Because I love her!!!!!!"

Everyone grew quiet.

Your eyes widened as your heart skipped a beat, anticipation building. N-no way...someone actually cared about you? Was that even possible?

You had to make sure.

"Pit? You....love me?" You asked, disbelief in your voice. Your heart was beating a mile a minute, unable to contain your joy.

The only people that had ever loved you was your mother, and your sister.

"W-What?! N-No!!! I didn't mean to say that!!!!" Pit exclaimed, his cheeks completely red. You froze in place, your heart shattering into a million pieces.

....Of course... Who were you kidding? There was no way he could love you.

Who could love someone as pathetic as you were.

"O-oh. I...I see," You murmured, forcing a smile. Tears slipped down your cheek as you grew quiet, trying to stop the aching pain in your chest.

But it wouldn't go away.

You turned away from everyone before racing off, leaving Pit in a state of confusion, and Palutena in a state of shock.
