With tae and jimin
After a long lecture, Tae and Jimin went to the canteen. The moment they stepped inside, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries greeted them. Tae stretched dramatically, letting out a groan.
"Finally! I thought that lecture would never end," Tae said, rubbing the back of his neck. "If I had to hear the professor say ‘structural integrity’ one more time, I swear I would’ve designed a building just to drop it on him.”
Jimin smirked, grabbing a tray. “Oh, please. You wouldn’t even get the proportions right. It’d collapse on its own before you could drop it.”
“Excuse me?” Tae gasped, clutching his chest in dramatic offense. “Do you not remember who won first place in last semester’s model competition? Oh, that’s right—it was me.” he said proudly
Jimin rolled his eyes as he reached for a sandwich. “First of all, you won because the judges didn’t notice the cracks in your base. Secondly, I could’ve easily won if I hadn’t been stuck helping you with your renders the night before.” jimin said with an annoyed expression.
Tae grabbed a cup of coffee, narrowing his eyes. “Helping? You mean working with me by distracting me with your ‘Taehyung, this isn’t aligned; Taehyung, this column is too wide.’ You should’ve just admitted you were intimidated.”
“Intimidated? By you?” Jimin laughed loudly, earning a few glances from nearby tables. “You’re the guy who thought a roof terrace could support a swimming pool without reinforcement beams. Should I remind you how that ended?” jimin stated with a serious like expression.
Tae groaned, dramatically covering his face with his hand. “Why do you always bring that up? It was one mistake, Jimin. One! You act like you’ve never accidentally placed a window inside a staircase.”
Jimin gasped, looking genuinely offended. “That was one time! And it was because someone wouldn’t stop distracting me with his terrible playlist.” jimin said.
“Hey, my playlist is iconic,” Tae shot back, crossing his arms. “You’re just jealous you don’t have a taste as mine.”
“taste?” Jimin snorted. “You literally had ‘Baby Shark’ on repeat when we were pulling an all-nighter. You call that taste?”
Tae grinned mischievously. “It kept me awake, didn’t it?”
They both burst into laughter, finally grabbing their food and heading to a corner table. Settling down, Tae leaned back in his chair and sighed contentedly. “You know, for all your complaints, you’d be lost without me.”
Jimin raised an eyebrow, taking a sip of his juice. “Lost? Please. If anything, you’d be wandering around a half-built model, wondering why your walls don’t line up.”
Tae smirked, pointing a fry at him. “And you’d be stuck in your perfectionist bubble, tweaking a design forever without actually finishing it.”
They both chuckled, the playful banter subsiding as they started eating. Despite the constant teasing, it was clear their friendship was built on mutual respect and trust—though neither would admit it outright.
As they were eating, Tae suddenly put his sandwich down, a soft smile spreading across his face. "Guess what, Jimin? Kook laughed today," he said, his voice tinged with both joy and a touch of melancholy.
"I was so, so, so happy to see him smile. You have no idea how long I’ve waited for a moment like that." Tae said with a bright smile
Jimin looked up from his food, surprised. “He did? That’s amazing, ahhhh i missed it. Btw What happened that made him laugh?”
Tae's eyes sparkled, but there was a wistfulness in them as well. “It was so simple, really. This morning, while eating breakfast i accidentally squirted all the ketchup ove my face. it must have been hilarious, because Kook just started laughing. At first, it was just a chuckle, but then it turned into a full-blown laugh.”
Jimin laughed "no wonder why he laughed that must be hilarious, aish i missed it too, if I was there i would have taken a photo of yours like that and posted it in insta" jimin said and earned a glare from tae.
Tae’s voice softened, and he looked down at his coffee. “It was the first time I’d seen him laugh like that since... well, since he came back. For a moment, it felt like he wasn’t so far away, you know? Like I had my little kookie back.”
Jimin reached over and gave Tae’s arm a reassuring squeeze. “i understand. You must’ve been over the moon.”
“I was,” Tae admitted, his voice trembling slightly. “But it also made me realize how much I’ve missed him. How much I’ve missed all the little things—his bunny smile, the way he used to cling to me, the way he’d call me ‘Tae-tae’ in his tiny voice. But now I feel like... I've lost him" He trailed off, his voice breaking.
Jimin’s expression turned somber, and he leaned closer, giving Tae his full attention. “You really miss him, don’t you?”
“More than I can even explain,” Tae said, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. “He was only eight when he left, Jimin. Eight. And it wasn’t like we had a choice. After the accident, he lost all his memories. He didn’t even remember me, Jin hyung, or you or any hyungs. All he knew was Dad. And..... I and you and all became someone he didn’t know anymore.”
Tae’s voice cracked, and he wiped his tears. “I kept hoping he’d come back one day, that he’d remember us. I’d dream about the day I’d hear him call me as his tae tae hyung again, but when he finally did come back... it wasn’t the reunion I imagined. He’s so distant, Jimin. It’s like there’s this wall between us, and no matter how hard I try, I can’t break it down.”
Jimin stayed quiet, letting Tae pour his heart out.
“And I get it,” Tae continued, his tone thick with emotion. “I can’t blame him. He doesn’t remember us, doesn’t remember the life we had before. To him, we’re strangers. But to me... he’s still my baby brother. And it hurts so much that I can’t reach him. That I can’t take away whatever pain he’s carrying.”
“Tae...” Jimin said softly, but Tae shook his head, forcing a weak smile.
“I just... I want him to be happy, Jimin. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. And this morning, when I saw him laugh, even if it was just for a second, I felt like maybe... just maybe, things could get better. Like there’s still hope.”
Jimin gave Tae a small, understanding smile. “Tae, you’re doing your best. And I know it doesn’t feel like it sometimes, but he’ll see that. Give him time. He might not remember the past, but he’ll come to know how much you love him now. That’s what matters.”
Tae nodded, his shoulders relaxing slightly. “Yeah, you’re right. I just need to be patient. For him. For us.”
They sat in silence for a moment, Tae’s heart feeling a little lighter as Jimin offered him a comforting presence.
Despite the pain and distance, Tae held onto the hope that one day, Jungkook would find his way back to him.
But Little did he know, the person whom he want to be happy and be with him, is actually living hell and hating him?

Soon the college was over, and all the students started leaving. Jungkook quietly packed his things and got up to leave.
As he was walking toward the gate, his eyes landed on Eunwoo, who was laughing freely with his friends. Jungkook smiled sadly.
"Always be happy, Eun," he thought from the depths of his heart.
He sighed softly and stood near the gate, waiting for Jimin and Taehyung, who had promised to take him to a café.
Though deep down, he wasn’t interested in going as for now all he wants is to rest. He debated telling them he’d rather go home.
“Jungkook-ah!” a familiar and cheerful voice called out. It was Taehyung. He and Jimin had arrived, grinning widely.
“Kook, let’s go,” Taehyung said with a bright smile.
Jungkook shook his head slightly. “Can I go home? I’m tired,” Jungkook asked softly.
Taehyung and Jimin immediately noticed the exhaustion in Jungkook’s voice. “S-sure. Let’s go home, hmm?” Taehyung said gently and reached for Jungkook’s bag.
Jungkook looked at him with confused eyes. “Let me carry it,” Taehyung said with a reassuring smile. Jungkook shook his head in refusal and was about to speak, but Jimin interrupted.
“Come on, Kookie, let’s go. You must be tired,” Jimin said while taking hold of Jungkook’s hand.
Jungkook stared at Jimin, who was now leading him toward the car. He glanced at their joined hands.
He couldn’t believe someone was already showing care after he had merely said he was tired. It was something so simple, yet it made his chest tighten. He hadn’t felt this kind of warmth in years. How much he had missed being cared for—truly cared for. It was almost foreign to him.
As they reached the car, Taehyung took the driver’s seat while Jimin sat in the passenger seat. Jungkook, as usual, sat quietly in the back, resting his aching head against the cool window.
“Kook, how was your day?” Jimin asked gently.
“Good,” Jungkook replied curtly.
“You had lunch, right?” Taehyung asked, glancing back at him through the rearview mirror.
“Nae,” Jungkook said softly.
“Um, by the way, have you made any friends yet? Are your classmates nice to you?” Jimin asked cautiously.
At the mention of the word “friends,” Jungkook scoffed, though it was too faint for either of them to notice. “No, I don’t have friends, and I don’t want any,”
Jungkook said plainly, though his tone carried an unmistakable undercurrent of pain. There was a longingness, even jealousy, that he couldn’t hide completely.
Taehyung and Jimin exchanged concerned glances.
“Why, though?” Taehyung asked hesitantly.
“I don’t like to interact with anyone,” Jungkook replied flatly.
Jimin and Taehyung glanced at each other again, their expressions laced with sadness and concern.
“B-but it’s good to interact with someone in class. Won’t you get bored being alone? After all, you’re at an age where you should be enjoying life with friends,” Jimin said hesitantly, trying to encourage him.
This time, Jungkook looked up. His dark eyes locked with Jimin’s, who was staring back at him. Taehyung occasionally glanced at Jungkook from the rearview mirror.
“I don’t want anyone. I have myself, and that’s enough for me,” Jungkook said coldly, his voice devoid of emotion, yet the pain in his words lingered in the air.
Jimin gulped nervously, nodding in silent agreement as he broke the eye contact, unsure of how to respond.
Taehyung, however, looked visibly disheartened. He didn’t say anything, but his shoulders slumped slightly, reflecting his sadness. Jimin, noticing this, reached out and gently patted Taehyung’s shoulder, offering him silent comfort.
The rest of the car ride was quiet, the only sound being the hum of the engine as they drove toward home.
Jimin went to along with tae to the mansion. Jungkook immediately went to his room. Tae and jimin sighed and started doing their college works after freshning.
With Jin and others
Back in Jin’s cabin, the team continued their discussion about the drug case.
"Hyung, we’ve identified a potential distributor," Namjoon said, handing Jin a file. "He goes by the name ‘Black Fox.’ He’s been linked to several underground networks in the area."
"Black Fox?" Jin repeated, flipping through the file. "What do we know about him?"
"Not much," hobi admitted. "He’s careful. Keeps a low profile. But we have a lead—a warehouse on the outskirts of the city. We think it’s being used as a distribution hub." Hobi said
Jin nodded, his mind already racing with plans. "Good work. Yoongi, I want you to put together a team to survey the warehouse. Hobi, coordinate with local law enforcement. And Namjoon, start mapping out possible escape routes in case we need to move quickly."
"Got it," the three responded in unison.
“Okay, for now, let’s go. It’s already time. You all need some rest,” Jin said.
All sighed in relief. “Finally, you realize it’s time,” Hobi said, clearly exhausted.
Jin chuckled and went over to him. “My Hobi worked a lot today, huh?” Jin said while ruffling his hair. Hobi fake-glared at him. “Hyung, it’s almost 9 p.m.! We started working in the morning. We only ate lunch in between, and that too while working,” Hobi huffed.
“Nae, nae… Let’s go. Then you can rest as much as you want,” Namjoon said, chuckling.
“Naaeeee,” Hobi whined as he and Namjoon left for home.
Meanwhile, Yoongi and Jin were in the car. Yoongi was driving while Jin stared out the window, lost in thought.
Questions flooded his mind: Why did Jungkook mumble that? Did something happen? Is it a nightmare or something else? Why did he say we shouldn’t care about him? Why does he think he’s not worth our care? Is he depressed? Is he okay?
Yoongi noticed Jin’s unusual silence. “Hyung,” Yoongi called softly.
Jin flinched, snapping out of his thoughts. “N-nae?” Jin responded.
“Where are you lost? Is something bothering you? I’ve noticed since morning—you seem distracted. What’s wrong?” Yoongi asked, glancing at him with concern.
Jin sighed before finally speaking. “It’s about Kook.”
“What happened to Kook?” Yoongi asked, his tone laced with worry.
“A few days ago, Taehyung said Jungkook was muttering in his sleep, asking why these nightmares keep coming. Tae heard him say, ‘Please, I can’t take it anymore. Just leave me alone.’ And today… I heard him mumbling in his sleep again. He was saying, ‘Appa… please don’t. Appa, please.’ Do you think it’s nightmares… or something else?” Jin asked, his voice heavy with concern.
Yoongi froze, processing Jin’s words. Without realizing it, he stopped the car in the middle of the road. Fortunately, it was a quiet street with little traffic.
“Hyung, what do you mean by ‘Appa, please don’t’ and the nightmares?” Yoongi asked, his voice trembling slightly. A cold fear gripped him as he hoped it wasn’t what he dreaded.
“That’s the same question I have, Yoongi. Do you think Dad has something to do with this?” Jin asked, his tone cautious but laced with fear.
Yoongi, now visibly tense, gripped the steering wheel tightly. “Hyung, if he did something to Kook, I swear I won’t leave him.”
“I’m scared, Yoongi. So many bad thoughts are running through my mind. What if…” Jin trailed off, shaking his head as if trying to dispel the dark thoughts. “I just hope he didn’t do anything to Kook. If he did… I swear I won’t forgive him either,” Jin said, his voice trembling yet filled with determination.
Yoongi clenched his teeth. “I can’t even forgive him for what he did to you, Hyung. I’ll never forgive him for that. I hate him to the core. And if he did anything to Kook, I’ll make sure he pays,” Yoongi said, his voice firm and cold.
Jin sighed, looking out of the window again. “I hope not. I’ll talk to Uncle tomorrow. Maybe he knows something,” Jin said, closing his eyes briefly, trying to calm his mind.
Yoongi sighed deeply and resumed driving. The car was silent except for the faint hum of the engine. Jin remained in his seat, still lost in thought.
Why did you do that, Dad? I can’t even bring myself to hate you… Is it because you’re my father? Did I do something wrong? Do you even see me as your son? Jin’s thoughts raced.
But I still hope you didn’t do anything to Kookie… If I find out you hurt him in any way, you’ll be no longer be my father. You’ll be my enemy. I don’t care what you do to me, but I won’t let you harm my brothers. I’ll protect them at any cost.
(How funny.. he already failed at protecting his precious. Will he get that? Will he be able to protect them in future?)
Yoongi glanced at Jin briefly, sensing the turmoil in his older brother. Though Yoongi shared the same fears, he chose to remain silent, letting Jin have his moment.
The rest of the ride passed in silence, both men lost in their own thoughts, the weight of their worries pressing heavily on them.
