Jin — the son of Kim Yoonseong — had always been like a puppet, forced to follow his father's ruthless rules.

At just 15 years old, Jin was dragged into the dark world of the mafia. His childhood was stripped away, replaced with brutal training and endless violence. Despite everything, Jin endured — not for himself, but for his brothers. Protecting them became his only purpose.

Jin had long known that Kim was toxic, but it wasn’t until his mother’s death that he fully realized just how monstrous his father truly was. After she passed, Kim’s cruelty toward Jin intensified. His words were harsher, his punishments more brutal. Yet, Jin and others never let that darkness reach Tae or Jimin.

Jin wore a smile like an angel— bright and reassuring — ensuring Tae never had a clue about their father’s cruel deeds. Kim had tried countless times to pull Tae and Jimin into the mafia, but Jin and the others stood like shields, never allowing their innocent maknaes to be tainted by that life. Tae and Jimin were their family’s only light — a light Jin, hobi, namjoon and yoongi vowed to protect.

For a while, Jin believed he had found a true older brother in Suho. Suho became a comfort, a presence Jin leaned on when life grew unbearable. But Kim, manipulative as ever, couldn’t stand their bond. Using lies and twisted words, Kim drove a wedge between them — forcing Suho and Jin apart.

But Kim didn’t stop there.

One night, in one of his cruelest acts yet, Kim drugged 21 years old Jin — fully aware that Jin was dangerously allergic to alcohol and narcotics. That night, Jin’s body gave out. He was rushed to the emergency room in critical condition. No one would ever forget that day — the image of Jin, pale and lifeless, lying on that hospital bed because of his own dad made all to hate Kim deeply. They promised themselves to not forgive Kim and protect their hyung.

Jin survived, but it left scars deeper than anyone could see. The knowledge that something so vile had been done to him filled Jin with self-loathing and disgust. He felt impure — tainted in a way that no amount of recovery could erase.

Suho and the others had protected Jin during that time, refusing to leave his side. They made Jin to recover. But not long after... Youngmi died.

Grief-stricken and vulnerable, Jin was met with Kim’s harshest words yet — vile accusations that blamed Jin for everything. Kim’s relentless blame pushed Jin to the brink, drowning him in guilt and self-hatred.

That was the day Jin stopped calling Kim ‘Appa.’

From that point on, Jin spoke to Kim like he was nothing more than a stranger — cold, formal, and distant.

Neither Tae nor Jimin knew about any of this. They never knew how much their hyungs had sacrificed to keep them safe.

Eventually, Jin and his brothers reached their breaking point. They refused to endure Kim’s reign any longer. Together, they stood their ground and demanded to leave the mafia. What followed was a massive fight — heated arguments, threats, and violence — but in the end, Kim finally let them go. It wasn’t easy, but they walked away, determined never to look back.

Yet Jin couldn’t just forget. He couldn’t ignore the pain the mafia had brought to so many innocent lives. He hated the mafia — despised everything it stood for.

That hatred ignited a new purpose within him — a purpose to fight back.

With that goal in mind, Jin created BTS Agency — an organization dedicated to tracking down and dismantling mafia gangs. Within just one year, BTS Agency had become a powerful force — so influential that even the police sought their help. BTS operated in the shadows; their identities remained a secret, and their only contact with the authorities was through encrypted channels online.

Even Kim knew about this mysterious agency. He tried desperately to uncover their identities, but no matter how hard he tried, he always failed. Without Jin and the others, Kim’s influence weakened. His missions failed more often. His grip on power began to slip.

And that infuriated him.

Kim wasn’t just losing control — he was losing to the very son he once treated like a puppet.

And that made him dangerous.

Jin and his brothers had always cared for Jimin and Tae deeply — they devoted themselves to protecting them, shielding them from the cruel reality they lived in. But despite all their efforts... but... they failed to protect their youngest — Jungkook.

At just 11 years old, Jungkook was dragged into the mafia — stolen from the innocence of his childhood far too soon. Unlike his brothers, he had no one to protect him. Despite enduring brutal mafia training, his greatest suffering came not from the violence outside, but from the torment inside his own home. His own father — a man who should have been his guardian — abused him mercilessly.

Despite having haein, hyesuk and eunwoo he didn't share anything due to his father's threats.

Jungkook never told anyone. He kept his pain buried deep inside, believing that no one could save him.

At 15, for the first time, he thought happiness had finally found him. He met Suho — a brother figure who brought warmth and comfort to his broken heart. For a moment, Jungkook believed life was getting better.

But happiness never lasted long in his world.

His mother died.

Then Suho died.

Then Haein and Eunwoo — the only two people who could have held him together — left… because Jungkook himself asked them to. He didn’t want to burden them with his pain. He didn’t want them to suffer because of him. He fought with them and seperated.

In just 16 years, Jungkook had experienced more loss, pain, and heartbreak than most endure in a lifetime.

After turning 16, life stopped feeling like life — it became hell. His 16th year is the most cruel year. He lost everything that year.

The abuse intensified. His home wasn’t a home; it was a prison filled with violence, fear, and agony. Every day felt like torture — an endless cycle of pain he couldn’t escape.

The boy who once radiated warmth, who laughed easily and cared deeply, slowly faded away.

His bubbly nature turned cold. His kindness turned rude. The boy who once couldn’t bear to hurt anyone… became distant, guarded, and angry.

People whispered that Jungkook had changed — that he had become cold-hearted and rude. But no one ever stopped to ask why. They didn’t realize that they were the reason for his change — that the world had forced him to build walls around himself just to survive.

Jin and others had always believed he had suffered the most — that his pain had been unbearable. But Jin had people to lean on. He had brothers who stood by him, friends who cared, and eventually… he found a way to heal.

Jungkook had no one.

No comfort. No protection. No safe place to fall.

Jungkook’s pain never left him. He never healed.

While Jin found his way back to life, Jungkook fell deeper into his own darkness.

Jungkook didn’t just feel broken — he felt empty. He lived each day suffocating under the weight of his memories, haunted by a pain no one could see.

And worst of all... he believed his own life wasn’t worth saving.

Jungkook often thought about ending it all — about putting an end to the endless suffering. Because in his mind, there was no reason to keep going.

Jin — the eldest — had suffered greatly. But Jungkook — the youngest — had endured even worse.

And Jin would never forgive himself for failing to protect the one person who needed him most — for believing the lies of a monster… and letting his youngest brother suffer alone.

Tae woke up to the sound of Jungkook’s harsh coughing. His eyes shot open, and without a second thought, he rushed to Jungkook’s side.

“Jungkook… hey, hey... sit up,” Tae whispered urgently, his voice filled with concern. He carefully helped Jungkook sit upright, wrapping an arm around his back to support him. Jungkook's weak body leaned heavily against Tae’s chest, his breathing ragged and strained.

“Hold on, Kook…” Tae reached for the glass of water on the bedside table, bringing it close to Jungkook’s dry lips. “Here… drink this.”

Jungkook sipped the water slowly, each swallow seeming to calm his burning throat. His breathing gradually steadied, and his trembling body began to relax. Once Jungkook seemed calmer, he let his head fall back against Tae’s chest, his eyes drifting shut.

Tae carefully shifted him, easing Jungkook down to lie properly. As he adjusted the blanket over him, Tae reached out and placed his hand on Jungkook’s forehead.

The fever had gone down a lot. There was only mild fever.

Tae let out a shaky sigh of relief. His fingers lingered against Jungkook’s skin for a moment longer, brushing away strands of sweat-dampened hair. His heart ached seeing Jungkook like this — so vulnerable, so fragile.

“You're okay now...” Tae whispered softly, as if trying to convince himself as much as Jungkook.

Still feeling the weight of worry in his chest, Tae sat beside him. His eyes stayed fixed on Jungkook’s face — watching his slow, steady breaths, as if afraid that if he looked away, something might go wrong.

Unknowingly, Tae drifted off to sleep again — his hand still resting protectively on Jungkook’s arm.

The next morning, Jin was up early, moving quietly through the house. He hadn’t slept all night — his mind kept spinning with endless thoughts.

Memories of the past, regrets, and guilt clung to him like a heavy blanket. No matter how hard he tried to push them away, they refused to leave him alone.

Feeling restless, Jin freshened up and slipped into a comfortable set of clothes. As he walked into the living room, his eyes landed on the mess scattered across the floor. He sighed deeply and knelt down to start cleaning.

While picking up a broken glass piece, Jin winced as a sharp sting shot through his palm. He looked down to see blood pooling at the cut. With a quiet hiss, he shook his hand and wiped the blood on his sleeve before continuing to clean. The pain barely registered — it felt small compared to the weight of everything else he was carrying.

Once the living room was spotless, Jin slumped onto the couch, exhausted. His gaze shifted to the clock — 5:00 AM. He let out another sigh, dragging himself to the kitchen.

Jin brewed himself a cup of coffee, hoping the warmth would ease his tension. With the steaming mug in hand, he grabbed his tablet and mindlessly started scrolling through the news.

But his fingers froze when he saw the headline — "Jeon Jungkook: The Lost Son of Korea's Most Notorious Mafia".

Jin’s eyes darkened as he read the cruel words written about his youngest brother. Rumors, twisted stories, and half-truths filled the article — painting Jungkook as someone dangerous, a criminal in the making.

Jin clenched his teeth, his grip tightening around the coffee mug. His heart ached — not just from anger, but from the overwhelming guilt that weighed him down.

"I failed you kook... I should’ve protected you better..." Jin whispered under his breath.

Setting his mug aside, Jin placed a hand over his face, feeling tears threaten to spill.

"I won’t fail again... I’ll protect you this time, no matter what."

He promised himself — not just with words, but with every ounce of love and regret that filled his heart.

Jungkook's eyes fluttered open, his vision still blurry from exhaustion. He felt a gentle weight on his chest — a warm hand resting there. Blinking a few times, he adjusted his gaze and looked beside him.

Tae.

Taehyung was curled up next to him, his body awkwardly positioned as he slept. His head rested uncomfortably against the headboard, and his arm was still draped protectively over Jungkook’s chest.

Jungkook’s tired eyes shifted to his own hand — the IV was still taped to his skin, the drip now empty. He glanced at the clock — 5:30 AM.

The events of the previous night flooded back into his mind. His heart clenched painfully.

"He won again... I lost again." Jungkook chuckled bitterly under his breath, his voice dry and weak. His lips curled in a lifeless smile as dark thoughts consumed him.

"Let it be... Whatever happens now, let it happen. If I’m meant to die like this... then so be it."

His gaze wandered back to Tae, still fast asleep. Something inside Jungkook twisted uncomfortably.

"They knew... didn’t they?" His mind spiraled. "They knew what was happening, yet they acted like they didn’t. They lied... They said they didn’t know anything, but when that monster dragged me inside... no one stopped him. No one said a word. Is this what they call ‘caring’? Are they just following Kim’s orders like puppets too?"

His chest felt tight — a dull ache that refused to fade.

Carefully, Jungkook reached for Taehyung’s hand, slowly lifting it away from his chest. He moved it aside with quiet precision, not wanting to disturb him.

When Jungkook sat up, he felt the dizziness ease a little. His fever had gone down considerably. He sighed heavily, noticing the bowl of cold water and a damp towel on the bedside table.

"Did he...?" Jungkook murmured softly, eyes returning to Tae.

For the first time, he noticed the tear stains streaking down Taehyung’s face. His swollen eyes hinted at hours of crying. But what shook Jungkook the most was the faint, reddened fingerprint mark on Tae’s cheek.

"What...?" Jungkook’s brows furrowed. Confusion clouded his mind, yet he chose to push it away.

"It’s not my concern... None of this is."

Ignoring the gnawing questions in his mind, Jungkook leaned back against the pillow. The warmth of the blanket and the lingering ache in his body pulled him back into unconsciousness.

For once, he let himself rest — too tired to carry the weight of his pain any longer.
