Saber's POV
"What?!" I exclaim "You're telling me to leave Nia for who knows how long so I can go to the Dark Earth Kingdom and help Ivy because she thinks people like Wolf better than her?"
"Well, not exactly. She wants advice to run the kingdom and for you to tell people that don't listen to her or Wolf that you and Nia have given them permission to rule because apparently the kingdom is slowly being split and chaos is growing." Angel elaborates "So, it's more than that."
"I still don't want to go." I grumble
"I know you don't want to leave Nia, but in this case I think it's necessary. I'm sure everything will be fine with me taking care of her. How bad can she get?" Angel replies with a nervous smile. Sighing, I reluctantly agree
"Fine. I'll go. But only for a couple days to sort out people that are causing trouble. If there's any problems with Nia, you tell me right away."
"Yeah, yeah." Angel waves my concern off "Also, I just want to ask. If it's necessary, if she gets really bad and it'll take you a long time to get back here, do I have your permission to put her in a temporary coma?"
"Yes, but only if it's the only thing left for you to do." I state, and Angel nods.
"Now get going! You need to sort this out as soon as possible."
"Yeah, of course. I'll get going once I say bye to Nia."
"But what if she tries to make you stay?"
"If I leave without saying goodbye, she'll be worse, trust me." I end the conversation by running past Angel and up the stairs to Nia's room, where she spends most of her time. "Nia?" I call out to her as I enter her room.
"Saber!" She happily exclaims and launches herself at me. I wrap my arms tightly around her, breathing in her scent. I'm going to miss her.
"Nia, I have something very important to tell you, okay? Will you sit down?" I ask calmly, unsure what her mental age is right now.
"Okay!" Nia replies, detaching herself from me and sitting on her bed, swinging her legs. She's obviously young-minded right now.
"Well, Nia, I have to leave for a bit to do something very important, but I'll be back before you know it."
"Who's Ivy?" Nia suddenly asks. I pause briefly, wondering how to say this.
"An annoying coworker that needs my help." I answer, partially truthfully.
"Okay, so she works with you?"
"Yes."
"Okay." Nia looks down and blushes slightly before walking to me and enveloping me in a hug again. "I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too." I say, wrapping my arms around her waist.
"When are you going?" Nia asks once she breaks away from the embrace. I inwardly grimace, able to tell she won't like this news
"Well... now." Her eyes immediately fill with anger and wisps of Darkness as she shouts
"What?! Now! Why didn't you tell me earlier?!"
"I was only just told, and it's very urgent! I need to leave as soon as possible so I can get back as soon as possible! So, I need to go now and sort this problem out, then come back here to you." I state, grabbing her hands in mine. The anger dissipates and is replaced by sadness.
"I don't want you to go!" Nia wails as she clings to me, tears filling her eyes.
"Please don't get upset Nia, I'll be back soon." I plead. I can't handle it when she's upset.
"Just leave already!" She roars, ripping out of my embrace, back to feeling anger. "You obviously care for this Ivy person more than me, so just go to her and never come back!" I know she doesn't mean it, but I try to convince her otherwise
"No, Nia, it's not like that, I swear. She is an old friend in need of help, that is all. I'll be back soon." I tightly hug Nia, not letting her go. I feel her tense body relax as yet again, her erratic emotions flip to sadness and tears fall from her eyes. She stays silent, and so doI, as I simply comfort her.
"Saber! You gotta go!" Angel calls up the stairs, ruining the moment. I sigh and kiss Nia, whispering a final goodbye and rushing down the stairs and out of the house.
A few days later
Antonia's POV
Days have passed, but it feels like years. I miss Saber so much. I can't remember why he left. I remember anger, and sadness, and I have a vague sensation I should know why, but I don't. I don't like speaking to the woman in the house, either. There's a new one each day, I think. I can't remember.
I pace around my room, unable to settle. I haven't slept since Saber left. When did he leave again? Oh, yes. A few days ago. I think. I can't think properly, my thoughts and memories are all muddled. It's like a fun maze, I have to swerve through them all, sometimes bumping into them.
It's fun.
Sometimes.
I groan and stomp downstairs to see a woman standing there. She smiles at me and says
"Hi Nia, i-." I immediately start growling, cutting her off. I don't care what she has to say. Nobody can call me Nia. Only him.
Only him.
Angel's POV
I am getting more and more worried about Nia each day. It seems like she's getting worse every day that Saber isn't here, which is just weird. Her mind really needs to get fixed as soon as possible, for her sake and Saber's. At first, she wouldn't eat. Then, she wouldn't sleep. Now, she won't stop moving, and she rarely leaves her room.
Like me thinking about her summoned her, Nia starts walking down the stairs. I get up form my seat in the living room and walk over to her at the bottom of the stairs.
"Hi Nia, i-." I start saying, only for a loud growl from her and anger flashing dangerously in her eyes to interrupt me and stop me from speaking.
"Don't call me that. Only him. Only him. Only him." Nia snarls in an animalistic voice, glaring heavily at me. Her claws extend, as she continuously growls and chants "only him". She lets out a louder growl and grabs her head with her hands, sitting on the stairs. She puts her knees to her chest, her arms across her knees and lies her forehead down in front of her arms and on her knees, so I an no longer see her face. However, I can still hear a faint chanting.
"Only him what?" I dare to ask, but regret it when Nia's head whips up and her eyes lock with mine, but her eyes are now black from Darkness.
"Only he can say that!" She yells
"Say what?" Why won't I shut up?
"NIA!" She roars back at me, storming upstairs and slamming her door. I back away from the stairs and go back to the couch, collapsing down on it.
I think the 'him' she was talking about is Saber. Her mind seems to be slightly slipping even farther, which is not good. Soon all of her memory progress will dissipate, if it hasn't already, or gone worse.
Another few days later
Nia won't come downstairs or talk to me now. When I go up to her room, before I even knock on the door, she lets out a loud, guttural growl with a clear message: go away or suffer the consequences. I can sometimes hear her chanting "only him" though, which just adds to my stress and worry. Saber needs to get back as soon as possible, and her mind needs to heal. I didn't want to have to do this, but I think it's necessary.
I go upstairs to outside of Nia's room, then I concentrate heavily on her. This allows me to enter her subconscious, and I put her into a temporary coma, where she is in the dream realm. Next, I need to get Saber.

Author's Note:
Hi kittens! This books is getting closer and closer to its inevitable end, and this probably sounds weird, but I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!! OMG honestly the ending to this book just has me super excited and I can't wait to publish it! Yes, I've already written it (and the prologue to the next book... oops?) but the idea for it just came to my head and I knew I had to get it down and so one time I just wrote it out and I just can't wait for this story to continue because it is so great to work on it.
I'm guessing there's about 5-10 chapters left in this book, and I am looking forward to starting the next one right after.
Question:
If you could have one thing happen, what would it be? If I think it fits with the story line, there's a high chance that I'll add it in!
