A V-TOL warship travels above the skyline of Cairo. A package sits inside that is marked with the famous Overwatch symbol. The Unit sat down across of each other as a table projects a holographic display. It is currently projecting a small version of the Overwatch commander.  As General Lawson explained to Morrison what his team found at route 66 and informs why they need to be in Egypt, Morrison remains silent for a minute before giving his two cents of the conclusion.

"I see why you're taking part of this current mission. However, I didn't assign any other snipers for the mission except my second in command, Ana Amari. "

General Lawson's eyes widen in amazement. "I hear great things about her. There is no way in hell she would be the type of person to kill criminals in cold blood and disobey orders. She would be the more supportive type of sniper, ruling out the big game hunter motif. Right Grief?"

Atticus nods in acknowledgement as he cleans up his red shades.

Morrison nods in agreement. Then, he awkwardly scratches his head. "Lawson, something came up and you are not going to like it."

Lawson moves close to the holographic projector. "What is it? Are things peachy between you and your friend, Gabriel?"

Morrison shakes his head. "No, I don't want to talk about that.  It is about the mission. There has been a change of plans."

"What do you mean?"

"The United Nations have just informed me your squad can't perform operations internationally until you guys complete your investigation into Overwatch."

Lawson almost let out an outburst. The United Nations didn't mention that when he accepted their request to investigate Overwatch. The lack of transparency is getting the best of his anger. "Are you serious? We need to be in Egypt. We cannot find our contact killer without missing an Overwatch operation. Morrison sir, we need to find the soldier in Overwatch that is souring up the organizations reputation."

Morrison lets out a hand. "I understand. I have taken the liberty to request extra uniforms for your team to blend in. Your pilot picked them up from Overwatch HQ before he grabbed your men at your safe house. Look, I don't want to do this behind the UN's back, but you guys are on to something and the sooner we can find the cancer, the better."

General Lawson looked up to the ceiling for a minute. For once, he would have to do something very shady in order to get to the bottom of what is causing the trouble inside the organization. If The Unit finds out what's the problem inside Overwatch; Overwatch will earn the trust of an influential country that can change most viewpoints of world leaders, and world peace will continue on throughout the globe.  The rewards are definitely worth the risk for The Unit to get their hands dirty.

Lawson looks down to the holographic figurine of Jack Morrison and nodded in confirmation. "We will do this. Once this is done, we will never talk about it."

"Thank you General." Morrison said with gratitude "Get you and your men to strap on to the Overwatch combat suits and I will help you coordinate with your team. We are about to head in to a facility at this address and rescue the scientists that have knowledge of an artifact that Talon have been getting their hands on. It would be nice to have a secondary strike team to clear the building for us to move in and reach the hostages. Plus, it would make a good cover assignment for your team."

"No problem." Lawson acknowledges before turning off the holographic communicator before turning towards his team. "Units, open the packages and suit up. Consider yourselves Overwatch agents for a day." Lawson says with a jokingly sarcastic expression.

The soldiers opened the boxes and strapping on a blue jumpsuit with blue armor wrapped around the shoulders. The Overwatch symbol displays proudly on the left shoulder pads. As the zip up on the back of the suit, the field soldiers of The Unit are ready to blend in to continue a investigation on the field while helping their friend at Overwatch once again.

Time skip

The Unit repel off a helicopter on top of a building planted in the middle of the urban jungle in Egypt. Barnes looks onto her GPS navigator built onto her wristwatch before giving the team the situation of the mission.

"Remember this and remember it well, The Unit was never seen in Egypt. We are here to blend in with Overwatch and help our friends save the hostages to make up the story that we are an secondary strike team."

"Shouldn't we help them extract the hostages too?" What happens if they are targeted by the double agent?" Apollo points out.

"We are not here to help extract them; we are here to make sure the mission goes smoothly. If anyone is not acting proper, ID him or her and we will head back to main base to build a case to pass off to Morrison before it is necessary of sending it off to the UN. Any questions?"

"What are we suppose to do to pretend we are Overwatch agents?" Atticus asks in confusion.

"We clear a path for them to reach the hostages. This is like what we did in the Baltimore Hotel in France. Lets give Talon an encore of our most notable operation."

"Hell yeah." Aaron agrees with excitement.

Barnes extends an arm forward. "Units, advance."

The soldiers sprint on the rooftop of the streets to make their way into the research facility. They hop over street alleys and move under laundry hangers in between them and the facility. After moving through two miles of rooftop, they stand on the edge of the roof facing the facility across from them. Barnes radios in.

"General, give me sit rep." Barnes speaks through the radio.

"I'm on a listening channel of Morrison's squad through the coms to report in the combat situation that may pop up. Remember, you are to act like Overwatch agents, which means sticking to your cover assignment. Note that Jack himself is in charge of the mission. The sniper's call sign is Mama Bear and she is in position ready to support her team. But she will not cover for you. You're on your own for retrieving the hostages."

Barnes nods to acknowledge. "Copy that. Be advised, we have found an alternative entry to the facility. We are standing on a green building across the facility, next to the gas station. We are planning to zip line in to the second floor of the facility. How copy?"

"Affirmative, the surveyor drone has spotted your team. Requesting permission of entry from Morrison, stand by." The radio went silent for a few minutes, hoping to be able breach. Apollo scratches his neck while Aaron wipes the sweat from his forehead.

"Man, these uniforms are a bit stuffy. Wouldn't it kill them to have an attire that is better suited for the heat?" Aaron moans while fixing his attire.

"Pipe down, the uniforms are for us to blend in. Be glad that you aren't given a trench coat to go on top of it." Atticus snaps.

"Good point." Aaron replies quickly before zipping his lips. Barnes quickly turns off her radio before facing her team.

"Morrison has given us the green light. Units, prepare the zip line." Barnes orders while pulling out a light pistol with a claw poking out of the front.

She aims the pistol up before pulling the trigger. The claw flies from the rooftop before sinking its teeth on to the wall above the windowsill. Barnes attaches the gun to a pole behind her before attaching her zip line device onto the rope. Everyone else casted his line, attached themselves onto the rope, and prepared to breach.

Barnes counts down from three. As she makes a fist, the soldiers raised their feet off the ground and begin their journey into the facility. As they got closer, they pointer their feet in front of them to smash the window open. A lone Talon operative wanders near window. He turns to face the view, only to be stunned by the sight of four marines appearing out of nowhere. As he was about to turn around, run, and warn his friends, the glass shatters open, knocking the operative to the floor.

As The Unit touches the second floor of the facility, they level their MP7s toward the hallway, riddling four mercenaries stationed on the second floor with bullets. Apollo kneels down and knocks out the mercenary on the floor with a single punch to the face. As the silenced gunfire died down, the hallway went in two directions, one walkway on the left and one straight ahead.

"Clear." Apollo, Atticus and Aaron called out.

"All clear, sweep the floor." Barnes acknowledges to her team. She grabs her radio. "Sir, we infiltrated the facility. Tangos on the southwest part of the building have been cleared."

"Affirmative Barnes. The drone has located the hostages at a meeting room on your floor. Be advised, Morrison's team have cleared out the northeast part of the building, but has encountered heavy resistance. Go and secure the meeting room quickly, Talon is getting trigger itchy." Lawson warns the team.

Barnes turns to her team before placing her radio away. "Apollo, Aaron. Clear the second floor so we can scout the meeting room. We will take out the tangos that are blocking Morrison's team to help them reach the meeting room. Be advised, they will check in by saying 'Chaos', the counter sign is 'Split'."

"Copy that" Apollo confirms before turning to Aaron. "Come on, we need to paint the scene to breach." Atticus and Barnes head left to help out Morrison's team, Apollo and Aaron continued on straight of the building to pick off any Talon mercenaries between them and meeting room.

As Apollo and Aaron move through the hallway slowly, they kept their sights aimed down. As two Talon grunts emerge in front of them, Apollo and Aaron each fire a shot, taking down their target with a single mark on the head. Checking to see no one else is around; Apollo and Aaron continue sweep the second floor.

Suddenly, sounds of pleading and moaning could be heard through the walls. Realizing they are near the hostages, Aaron lays down and pulls out a small robot, a drone shaped like a single cylinder with wheels wrapped around on each end and a camera on the center, and lets it roll with a controller. Apollo radio emitted noise.

"Be advised, Tangos blocking Morrison's path have been removed and we are on our way to prepare to breach. What's happening to the hostages?"

Aaron moves his drone underneath the doorway into the meeting room. The robot scales the wall and onto the ceiling inside the meeting room and wedges it behind a projector attached to the ceiling to keep it out of sight before starting its surveillance. "I spot four hostages and five armed guns. The hostages are seated on two of each side of a table facing the door with gun barrels placed on their heads. The mercenaries are all focused on the door." Aaron reports in.

"We could blow a hole on the wall and take them out from behind." Atticus suggests. "The mercenaries think there's only one way into the meeting room. We can improvise a second entrance."

"Good idea. Ursus, Manhattan, stand by the wall behind the mercenaries so we can blow a charge and we will hustle our way to you." Barnes orders before the radio went silent.

Aaron turns off his controller before Apollo pulls a device, flat, white, and has a knob on the center, and plants it onto the wall. The two stood near by between the white device before Barnes and Atticus emerge from the stairs.

"You all set?" Barnes says as Apollo presses a few buttons on the wall charge.

"All set and ready to breach." Apollo confirms before quickly moving back from the explosive. As The Unit moved into position, Apollo stabs his finger on the detonator. The wall explodes, throwing the mercenaries into panic and confusion. Flying dust and debris cloud the sight of the Talon operatives. They lost focus on the hostages. Seconds later, five single quiet shots rang out, puncturing a hole on their head. As the five terrorist operatives fell to the floor, The Unit file into the room, forming a wall around the hostages.

Barnes turns on her radio. "General, hostages secured. No casualties to report."

"Excellent work, Barnes. Morrison's team is about to move in."

Then, a dark skinned woman with yellow hair enters the room, along with other soldiers originating from different countries. The dark skinned woman, Mirembe, quickly spoke to the soldiers dressed up in Overwatch gear.

"Chaos." Mirembe shouts quickly

"Split." Apollo fires back. The Russian accent gave the female soldier the impression of a diverse team instead of an all American task force. Then, the man with a holographic eyepiece wearing a trench coat over his combat uniform enters the room. He looks towards The Unit, all wearing the Overwatch combat uniform.

"Thanks for securing the hostages. We will move them out of here." Morrison commands, pretending he was commanding another squad of Overwatch agents.

"You want us to escort you out, sir." Barnes asks with a serious tone on her face.

Morrison shakes his head. "Our sniper will deal with the rest of Talon, thanks for the offer though. I want you guys to spot targets for our sniper. I have reports of Talon QRF making their way to the facility for a counter attack."

Barnes nods and directs her team to head out of the room and up to the rooftop of the building. They observe the dusty streets below to spot Overwatch soldiers standing outside of the front entrance, creating a barrier and aiming their rifles outwards to form the shape of a porcupine.

Suddenly, Talon operatives appear from an alley a few buildings ahead, rushing in front of them to takedown Jack's squad and retake the hostages. However, several shots rang out, dropping Talon operatives down one by one.

"Man, that sniper is pretty impressive. Clean kills all around." Aaron remarks. Suddenly, Aaron's radio received a notification.

"Your real mission is to observe Overwatch. Once they extract the hostages, our real mission is over." Lawson calls out.

"Copy that, sir. But it seems things are going smooth. Was this a bad call to go on this mission?" Barnes replies to the General.

"We may have not been lucky as planned. But that doesn't mean it is a reason to blow cover. The Unit was never here, remember that."

The soldiers of The Unit continue observing the Overwatch squad making their way behind a wall, passing by bodies of fallen Talon operatives. Then, Aaron's radio comes back on.

"They are about to move through a alley way and into a warehouse leading to a ship docked at the other side. You guys are to scout that path ahead for possible shooters." The General called out.

"Got it, sir." The soldiers of The Unit confirm.

As the Overwatch team prepares to move out, a gunshot echoes through out the streets. The Unit drops to the floor. Time passes; they crawl their way to the edge of the roof and spot two Overwatch agents lying on the ground against the wall.

"The hell is going on? Did that sniper fire the shot?" Barnes shouts out of panic.

"Stand by... Team, be advised. I have reports of a Talon sniper mobile and active in the area."

Atticus's eyes went wide. He reaches for his radio. "How good is this sniper?"

Lawson went silent for a few seconds. "Overwatch says this sniper is pretty good.  Known to be fast on his feet, deadly, and extremely precise."

The operators look at each other in confusion, realizing the situation went from peachy to intense. And now they have a enemy that is a heavily trained sniper hunting Overwatch agents. Atticus goes back to his radio. "What can we do?"

"Get a location on the sniper... Hold on stand by.... Belay the order; Mama Bear is hunting the shooter. Talon's sniper has killed two agents, one shot to the side and one to the head."

"That fits the mode of operation for our said contact killer, a sadistic shooter who plays god by mortally wounding his victims instead of giving a quick kill." Atticus mutters to himself. "Is it possible our contact killer has pledge his allegiance to Talon to avoid the risk?"

Aaron gets up from the floor. "Then lets introduce our sniper up close and personal." Barnes stops him in his tracks. "There is no way we will do that. We will cause a distraction for either sniper and we won't know who will take the advantage. Atticus, what do you think we should do?"

Atticus takes a few deep breaths. "We will have to follow where the snipers are fighting. Talon's sniper is too busy to clean up after himself, as a sniper vs. sniper fight is a combat scenario that only one winner walk away from." Atticus grabs the radio. "Where are they now?"

"I just got word that Mama Bear changed positions. She has a fix on the sniper's position at a pink multilevel building that is five blocks away from your position."

Without hesitation The Unit quickly pick themselves off the ground and moved forward, hopping rooftop to rooftop. As they traveled through the roof, they spot the pink building in the distance.

"Alright, move in slowly. This sniper may have traps or surveillance equipment planted. What we need to do is to capture/kill the sniper and end this madness once and for all." Atticus declares with confidence

As The Unit moves for the pink building, several Overwatch quad drones zero in, lighting it up in a big explosion. However, a grappling hook shot out from the smoke, the shooter zips quickly up to another building. Atticus radios in.

"Commander, should we chase after the sniper?"

Lawson gives out a breath of frustration from the other end. "I don't know. Maybe..." The U.S. general went silent for a minute before giving another notification. "Units, Mama Bear has turned off her ear piece and is pursuing the sniper alone. Jack has ordered her to disengage."

"Copy that." Atticus turns to Barnes for team coordination.

"Alright, Aaron and I will go after Talon's sniper. We will try to box him in for capture. You two will go after Ana, Overwatch cannot loose their best sniper. She is one of founders in the Overwatch strike team."

Without a word, Apollo and Atticus sprint for the grey building where Ana is stationed. Aaron and Barnes head for the orange building, where the sniper was positioning. Starting at the first floor, the two head up the stairs, moving room to room to find the sniper. As they head up near the roof of the building, the radio picks up noise again.

"Manhattan, Barnes. We've spotted Ana. She is sprinting on the rooftop—Holy shit, a billboard nearly fell on top of her. Talon's sniper is using explosive rounds, be careful." Apollo replies through the radio.

"Roger that." Barnes turns to Aaron. "Hustle, we are near the sniper's position." Barnes exclaims as the two kicks open the door to enter the roof. They lean against the wall, peaking over to spot a thin figure wearing a robotic eye visor, scanning the buildings across for Ana. Her lips were exposed, revealing to a purple skin tone.

"Why can't we just rush in and take out the sniper." Aaron asks out of curiosity.

Barnes grabs Aaron's chest and shook her head. "This one is capable on sensing danger. If we spook the sniper, he will change position, making it difficult for Ana to takedown. Besides, we cannot blow our cover. All of Overwatch's agents have been told to head to their ship and if Ana spots us through her scope, then she will know something is up." Barnes whispers. "All we can do is wait and follow the sniper's trail when she decides to change positions."

As Talon's sniper continues scanning her area, she suddenly flinches. The sniper's headpiece fell apart, revealing a figure with blue skin and long purple hair.

"What the hell? Is it some sort of alien?" Aaron spoke as he peeks from cover.

"What the do you-" Barnes quickly peeks from cover before hiding behind the wall as the sniper turns around. The sniper grabs her rifle and fires a shot back at Ana. Ana slumps forward, covering her left eye. Talon's markswoman runs off to the right, not noticing the two members of The Unit hiding behind the wall.

Lawson radio calls in. "Units, Mama bear is down. The sniper got her."

"Should we check on her?" Barnes says with fear in her voice. "We can carry her back to our safe house and resuscitate from there."

"I'm sorry, we cannot risk ourselves blowing cover by carrying her back to our safehouse. We have to leave her, to keep cover. Pack up and get ready for dust off." Lawson says with a breath of defeat.

Barnes begins heading down. However, Aaron moves forward and picks up a big object from the ground. He holds it with one hand and radios in. "Sir, the sniper dropped a bullet casing. It seems really big. Could this be our killer?"

"We can't find that out now. We need to leave." Barnes holds her head together, they went through a lot today and they needed to get out of here before the Egyptian police arrive and them being exposed in Overwatch uniform will only anger the United Nations.

"Units, regroup at the beige rooftop. We're going to head for Fort Bragg for answers."

As Atticus and Apollo sprint their way to the rooftop to meet up with Aaron and Barnes, a V-TOL ship lands on a helicopter pad to pick them up before it jettisons above the skyline and speeding back to America. The Unit lie down on the hammocks inside and doze off, hoping that they will wake up with stronger brain power as a 7-hour flight transport the special forces squad back to the country.

A/N: Heyo. Well, this is my attempt on the legacy story, so I hope you enjoy this reimagining. I am so glad I can push this through, as this is the longest chapter I have ever written. Anyways, I love the feedback I have been gathering in the last few days. It makes me happy from all the support I have been getting. The pieces will so come together.
