NEWT POV:
I was at the hammock waiting for Tommy. It was currently a thunder storm so all the jobs were called off. Thomas was in the runner base cleaning up. Minho said he should be here soon. I was worried though. Maybe the weather is so bad that Thomas can't make it. I saw Thomas running up to us and relaxed. He was half way when a strike of lightning landed right in front of his face. Thomas flew back and a loud bang of thunder came. "TOMMY" I yelled. I ran over there with a few other boys. We picked Thomas up and laid him down in the hammock. He had small burns. Clint and Jeff came over to us. "Will he be okay" I asked. "He will be fine. I mean he is still alive and the burns won't kill him. We just need to wait for him to wake up" said Jeff. I relaxed and everyone went to their own hammock. I laid down and held Thomas in my arms. Minho did say that Thomas can run tomorrow if everything is okay. I closed my eyes and fell asleep. I woke up the next.
The cooks were already making breakfast. I sat up. "Tommy wake up" I said shaking him. Thomas groaned. "Five more minutes" Thomas said sleepily. I signed and started pulling Thomas up. He groaned and opened his eyes. I was a little surprised. They looked different. Thomas was confused. "Newt where are we" asked Thomas. "The sleep area" I said. Thomas tried blinking and wave his arms out to touch something. "Why is it pitch black" asked Thomas. "Come on, let's find the medjacks" I said. I helped Thomas up and held his hand as we walked. "Newt, am I, blind" asked Thomas. "Probably but it will be okay Tommy" I said. We made it to the hospital and entered. "Something is wrong with Tommy" I said. "What happened" asked Jeff. "I can't see anything. It's just darkness" said Thomas. "The lightning probably blinded him. WCKD might send up a book on how to cure it but in the mean time you should tell everyone else" said Jeff. "Does this mean we can amputate" asked Clint. "Amputate what, his head" I asked sarcastically. "Let's just go" said Thomas. I signed and took Thomas to the kitchen. He crashed into the door.
"Sorry Tommy" I said. "It's okay I'm fine" said Thomas. I sat Thomas down at a table. "I'll be right back with food okay Tommy" I said. "Okay" said Thomas. I kissed his forehead and went to get breakfast. I explained to Frypan that Thomas can't see so I'm getting both our plates. I got the food and saw Gally was standing beside Thomas and showing his middle finger in front of Thomas' face. I frowned and sat down next to Thomas. "Gally leave him alone" I said. Gally put his arm down. I gave Thomas a fork. "Newt" said Thomas. I started eating. "Ya" I said. "I can't feed myself" said Thomas. I took his fork. "Open your mouth" I said. Thomas turned to me and opened his mouth. Gally shoved his finger in Thomas' mouth. "BLOODY STOP GALLY" I yelled. Gally removed his finger and Thomas wiped his mouth. "I don't see why this shank is acting weird" said Gally crossing his arms. The entire room was silent. "I can't see a thing. The medjacks said that WCKD might send up something to help but in the mean time I'm blind" said Thomas. The room went back to normal and Gally left. I continued feeding Thomas and watched him until he was able to see again.
