Fallin' For You-Part 5

As Sophie's alarm went off that morning, she grinned from ear-to-ear and leapt out of bed. She quickly got dressed in a white t-shirt, her icy-blue hoodie, skinny blue-jeans, and her black converses.

She brushed her hair, curled it, put on just the slightest bit of make-up, and then grabbed her things and ran down the stairs.

And before she could even enter the kitchen, Grady and Edaline burst from behind the wall and exclaimed, "Happy Birthday Sophie!"

Sophie, naturally, was terrified at first, but she soon began to laugh and hug her parents. "Thank you!"

"So, as an official adult," Grady said. "I'm going to bless you with the authority to vote, enter the lottery, and donate blood."

Sophie grinned. "Well thank you for your blessing."

"I made you a special birthday, yogurt parfait," Edaline said, leading her into the kitchen and sliding a large yogurt parfait in front of Sophie.

Sophie smiled, starting to eat it quickly. "Thank you so much."

"Of course," Edaline said. "Now, remind me again, what time are your friends coming over?"

"About four-thirty," Sophie said, nodding. "I'll give me time to clean up a little bit, and time for them to go home and get whatever they need."

"Alright," Edaline said with a small nod. "Well, Grady and I are going to head out to check on the animals, we'll see you after school."

They each kissed her on the forehead before heading outside and leaving Sophie to eat her breakfast alone.

After she was done, she grabbed her bag and keys before heading out to her car and driving away to school.

Once she walked in, she was bombarded by all of her friends jumping on her with hugs and screaming, "Happy birthday!"

Sophie laughed, relishing in the warm hugs her friends were giving her before finally pulling away and smiling at them. "Thank you so much."

"Wow," Biana said, gaping at Sophie. "You're eighteen. You're an adult and you're older than all four of us."

"It is strange that we all have late birthdays," Dex said, tilting his head. "Mines next month, Jensi's is in May, Biana's is in June, and Maruca's is in July."

"Well, Marella's was in November," Jensi said with a shrug. "She was older than all of us."

"And Stina's younger than Sophie and Dex," Maruca said, then added quickly, "I only know that because she wouldn't shut-up about her birthday when we were friends."

"Well, at least I'm older than her," Sophie muttered.

"Agreed," Dex said. "I don't know what I'd do if I found out the toad was older than me."

Biana pouted. "But she's older than me, Jensi, and Maruca. That's terrible!"

Jensi opened his mouth like he was going to say something but was cut off by the peal of bells and Mr. Leto walking onto the stage.

"Good morning," He said with a grin. "Welcome to another wonderful day..."

"The party has arrived," Keefe said as he walked through the door.

He missed eating food, cake, and ice-cream—which was okay because he was supposed to be back in school but decided to stay until after Sophie's birthday and continue his class online until then.
