"Hey Keefe," Sophie said as she answered the call that evening.

"Hey Foster," Keefe said. "What're you doing?"

Sophie put the phone on speaker and placed it on her desk so she could put her earrings on. "I'm actually about to head to Prom. What about you?"

"Oh, that's so cool." Keefe said. "Who're you going with?"

Sophie smiled. "All five of us are going together as a group."

"That's sounds like a lot of fun. What does your dress look like?" He asked.

"Well, it's kind of blue and sparkly and flowy, and well..." Sophie huffed. "I'll just send you a picture."

Sophie picked up her phone and took a quick mirror-selfie before texting it to Keefe. She'd been really pleased with the dress she'd picked out, and she really hoped Keefe liked it too.

"Is the dress..." Keefe said slowly. "My eye-color?"

Sophie's face turned a little pink. It was true. The dress was icy-blue, and it had sparkles on it, so it looked like it'd been coated in ice. It had a key-hole neckline and it was super wispy. She'd also paired it with matching shoes, necklaces, and earrings.

"Maybe," She answered. "But I'm not finished. I have to do my hair and make-up too. Then I'll be done."

"I don't know." Keefe said with a laugh. "You look pretty finished to me."

Sophie's face turned even pinker before she said. "So, back to my question: What are you up to?"

"I'm having a painting contest with Stephen." Keefe said. "I called you for moral support."

Sophie laughed. "Okay then: Go Keefe! You can do it!"

Keefe laughed. "Thanks Foster. So, are you guys planning on eating out before it starts?"

"Nope," Sophie shook her head as she brought her phone into the bathroom so she could talk to Keefe and do her make-up at the same time. "Honestly, the only reason we went out last year was because someone sent Biana an envelope filled with tons of money in it."

"Really?" Keefe laughed, but it sounded nervous. "Who did it?"

"We don't know." Sophie shrugged, trying to figure out why Keefe sounded so worried. "I wish we did, though. Then we'd be able to thank them."

"Well," Keefe sighed. "It has been a year. You might as well know."

"Know what?" Sophie asked.

"Don't get mad at me, okay?"

Sophie blinked. "Um...okay?"

"Well, I was the one who sent Biana the money." He said.

Sophie's eyes widened. "What? Are you being serious?"

"Yeah..." Keefe said.

"How...how'd you get that much money?" Sophie asked, having to halt what she was doing as she tried taking in what he'd just told her.

"Well," He started. "You know how—my mom may've told you a few years ago—that I would inherit 10,000 dollars when I turned eighteen. Well, I turned eighteen last year..."

"You did not," Sophie said, her eyes became even wider with realization. "You spent your inheritance on us just so we could have a good Prom Night?"

"...yes." Keefe said slowly. "Please don't get mad at me..."

From the background, Sophie heard Stephen say, "Dude...you're screwed."
